I love first aid kit, especially songs like Wolf, My Silver Lining, Heaven Knows, etc. they all have a hopeful mood to them and a general upbeat wilderness feel to them. On the other hand, you have Defiance, Ohio. They have an upbeat war/Apocalyptic feel to them, mixing folk with elements of punk rock. I love some of their songs like Oh Susquehanna, Petty Problems, Floodwaters, etc. Also bonus points for songs about the apocalypse.

Hey folks! I released a spooky folk track this week, just in time for Halloween! I wrote this song after going through a phase of reading ghostly tales about killer botanicals & haunted forests. It's set in the 1600s and follows the story of a woman who is accused of being a witch simply because she is seen collecting branches by an Ash Tree at night, a type of tree that was thought to have magical properties. Would love to know what you think of it! ☺️
Hello everyone, are there any young people who are in the age range of 18-25 who wholly enjoy folk music? Especially Polish, Moravian, Slovak folk music. I'd love to meet some people similar to my age since I can't find any really haha. Thanks and have a great rest of your day and life!
I love this album for many reasons, read and listen to it here: https://davesbasementtracks.blogspot.com/2024/10/dbt-312-weary-ramblers-self-titled.html
Another original just released by my friend R. Shayne Floyd. Available on Spotify Apple Music and more if you like! https://open.spotify.com/track/4mepdoqiAI13BCJbB8IgCY?si=rjzZeJTUSd2DQQC-rjbq8A
Boston-based indie-folk quartet Darlingside will be at LPR on Wednesday, 11/20, with their “exquisitely arranged, literary minded, baroque folk-pop” (NPR) on full-display! Their latest record, 2023’s Everything is Alive, is a highly-praised exploration into grappling with both constant change and stasis for the 15-year-old band.
As they made their way through the northeast on their brief fall tour, don’t miss your chance to see Darlingside in NYC! Get your tickets now >>> https://lpr.kydlabs.com/e/EVcb28ead9-1867-4185-adec-a6767db3535b?referral_id=g-e8ccb45e-949f-45a2-907a-7e35f55588f5
Working on my Samhain playlist on Spotify.
What are some good creepy and atmospheric autumnal/October/Halloween/Samhain folk songs?
Maybe some folk horror vibes?
I generally listen to music from the 60s and 70s and a lot of Irish acts, including more modern ones.
Some songs on that playlist are not strictly folk, some are a bit more experimental.
Please do tell me your suggestions!
Croatian single that has Fleetwood Mac vibes. Let me know what you thinkkk
