There are rumors of boosters reinvesting the buyout money for Billy’s contract into the transfer portal for next year. I’m curious about people’s opinions - what is your level of confidence in Billy being capable of winning (with all his faults) if we were able to bring in an Ohio State/Ole Miss level transfer class? I think making a playoffs (which should be the standard in year 4 I assume?) is still unlikely given Napier’s track record.
If the rumor is even true (assuming the buyout money was even raised) that indicates to me that the boosters minds would be made up to fire him, not to redirect the funds into recruiting for a make or break year. It seems like betting a lot of money on one year of potential success for a losing coach instead of investing in longterm success with a proven coach. It just doesn’t sound like a likely scenario to me at all, especially if Year 4 is a failure and they burn cash on recruits only to fire BN anyway?
Curious to get feedback because the more I hear, the less it seems like the money was ever raised at all. Or perhaps I don’t understand the mindsets of ultra rich boosters. Perhaps money is no object and they are willing to burn their cash and then fire Billy in the scenario things do not work out, but it seems like the likelihood of success is pretty low for him, which would not validate pumping more cash into the current regime.
It’s Wednesday my dude. Also Check out:
Help us update the GAME DAY VISITORS GUIDE THREAD
I am looking for some tailgating advice for this coming Saturday vs. LSU. We are a group of 15 that will be driving up from Tampa and arriving hopefully between 9-10AM in Gainesville. My brother-in law is a huge Gator fan and it will be our first time in Gainesville. I was looking for some answers to:
A) If we got there at 10am would there be any shot at public parking to tailgate (if not is there a list of places to try) B) Do you have recommendations of where to park were we could drink and throw football around C) If we scrap bringing our own food and booze … are there large paid tailgates? If so do you have links to info?
Thank you all and Go Gators!
LET 'EM HAVE IT

Also one dropped for 3* DL Stephon Shivers
I was wondering if you guys think he will get any minutes this season?
After watching the miserable performance against Texas, AD Stricklin has to regret his letter committing to Napier for another year of bad recruiting and coaching. Bull Gator Boosters ought to buy out Napier's golden parachute.
Shop talk for the week's game(s).
So at absolute best we finish 7-5 at worst we finish 5-7. I refuse to believe FSU will beat us and if they do I will boil my crocs and eat them. But what if we were able to sneak a win on LSU or ole miss. 6-6 ain’t great but it’s an improvement. We get to a bowl beat an ok team and finish out 7-6. I think it’s entirely possible is it likely? No but is it possible to sneak a win in before FSU yes. Any given Saturday man. I’m rooting for it also slightly drunk but that’s beside the point!
Yes, I know we got curbstomped, but schadenfreude is all I have to look forward to.
I honestly believe the trajectory in which the cleat was thrown completed the requirements for a lament configuration.
As soon as the cleat hit the ground time itself stopped and Marco Wilson was confronted by the Cenobites and in an attempt to escape his inevitable fate he sacrificed the future prospects of Florida Gators Football.
Until Marco Wilson takes responsibility for his actions and turns himself over to the machinations of the Leviathan the curse simply cannot be lifted.
We however CAN do something about this....
This post isn't about Billy, it's about the players.
With this season coming to an end, I think it's very important to look at the players leaving, and see what we're going to be left with next year. Here are the players that are eligible to declare for the draft or graduate:
Graham Mertz RS Senior QB Montrell Johnson Jr. Senior RB Elijhah Badger Senior WR Chimere Dike Senior, WR Damieon George Jr. RS Junior OL Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson RS Senior OL Caleb Banks RS Junior DL Cam Jackson Senior DL Joey Slackman Graduate Student DL Shemar James Junior LB R.J. Moten Senior LB Jason Marshall Jr. Senior DB Trikweze Bridges RS Senior DB Asa Turner RS Senior DB Jeremy Crawshaw Senior Punter Rocco Underwood Redshirt Junior LS
With this being said, some of these players will have eligibility and could come back, and others that aren't on this list could transfer.
Here's what we have
QB: Lagway, Warner, Millen?
RB: Baugh, Webb, J Jackson, KD Daniels + others
WR: Wilson, Mizell, K Jackson, Jean, Burke, Hawkins, Abram
TE: Hansen, Boardingham + others
OL: Barber, K Harris, Slaughter, Manuel, Kearney, Waites + others
DL: Boone, Searcy, Watson, Sapp, K Collins, McCray, Pyburn, Gumbs,
LB: Howard, Robinson, Pyburn, M Graham, Chiles
DB: D Moore, J Jackson, D Johnson, Grimsley, McClain, Castell, Gates, Douglas, Thornton, Denson
As we saw today, our DB play was rough. We do currently have Ben Hanks Jr, a 4 star coming in. But will need a lot more help here. Definitely need some big pick ups in the portal
The point of this: We are not finished. Florida football isn't over. There is a lot of skill on this roster. A lot of depth. With Billy being confirmed for next year, recruits now will most likely start coming due to there not being instability.
