Did you know that Into Space 2 contains a hidden command console?

No, this isn't me making something up as a joke. Hidden in the source code of the game is a command console, invoked by pressing the ` key.

Online version: https://flasharch.com/en/archive/play/4e46c0cb2b19d45d7dd7bf978fb5d8a9

SWF download: https://cdn.flasharch.com/uploads/archived/2025/02/04/4e46c0cb2b19d45d7dd7bf978fb5d8a9/main.swf

List of commands:

clear: clears the console history and window.

fps: enables an FPS tracker/resource viewer.

fuel: gives player infinite fuel.

help: shows the full list of commands.

intospace: teleports your rocket to space.

listdisplayobjects: outputs a list of all displayed objects.

mars: teleports the player to the Mars landing area.

notdoppler: gives the player $999999.

powermode: unlocks the power mode item.

tree: lists all PBObjects

unlock: unlocks all rocket parts (not the special parts)

unlockall: unlocks all parts

verbose: sets the verbosity of the console output

version: outputs the version of the PBEngine.

This can be done on any version (I tested the download from Flashpoint).

To enable the debug menu yourself on a copy you already have, open the swf in ffDec). Navigate to Scripts/com.pblabs.engine/PBE and look for IS_SHIPPING_BUILD. It will be set to true. Change it to false by clicking the text that says "false;" and edit the P-code from pushtrue to pushfalse. This will make the game believe that it's running in a developer mode which enables the command console.

If you are running this locally, you may also need to disable the sitelock if your obtained copy doesn't already have this disabled. To do so, search for BaseBranding and look for a line that says public var domainAllowed:Boolean = false;

Change false to true. You may have to change this through PCode if it throws an error (doing so will mention that editing here is usually not enough in ffDec, but it does work in this case).

Admittedly, I did make some other changes to the SWF as well. The notdoppler command does give money, but it only gives 9500. I changed it to give $999999. The game is very sensitive to integer overflows with numbers larger than that, plus, that amount should allow you to buy almost anything (or you could just run unlockall). Additionally, the help screen on other copies only mentions that the codes are just cheats, but they don't say what they do. I modified those entries to more specifically say what they do.

Looking for an old FRIV and or Miniclip game

There was a game I played a long time ago on FRIV and later some more on Miniclip. The game is a top down robot 'fighting' (?) game. After each level you can change and add how your robot works and the levels branch out as you fight stronger robots (you can choose what robot to face off next). I remember that the robots where circular and yellow and that the later enemies were massive but not much else

Blank screen on the flash games I downloaded

Hi all, I am having an issue with ruffle so here I am, asking for some help.

I am using it to play flash games dowloaded from webarchive, the screen stays blank. If I download the game and use VLC I can hear the sound bu can't see the video. If I try to load the SWF file I downloaded onto the Ruffle online player I can't even hear the audio.

Do you know how can I solve this issue? Thanks in advance for the help!

Needing help in extracting SWF files from old archived website

Hi all. I'm not too tech savvy when it comes to flash, but I wanted to try and get some old SWF animations hosted on an archived website. Unfortunately I can't for the love of me undestand how to download them, as when trying to save them the URL changes from SWF to HTM.
Does anyone have any idea how I could directly download them?

Can someone please help me figure out Ruffle?

You see, I'm trying to get the video from this link:

https://web.archive.org/web/20071111042313/http://www.millanews.com/video/lv_premiere.swf

But the video isn't even loading. I tried to download it through an instruction given to me for getting the swf link by itself, but all that came up was a one second video of a play button. I don't know where to go or what to do since ruffle isn't even loading the video through the Wayback Machine on archive. I would really appreciate any possible help, please.

Audio issues with a specific flash game's .swf file

The file I'm trying to play can be found in this comment chain.

I'm trying to run Light Heroes using the standalone version of Flash Player 32 on a MacBook Air. The game runs perfectly fine with the exception of there being no sound at all. I've tried older versions of the standalone Flash player, which didn't make a difference. I've also tried the desktop version of Ruffle, which does properly play audio but doesn't save game progress properly for any flash game, so I'd like to avoid it if there are any other options at all.

Other flash games I have downloaded like Robokill don't have this issue, so I'm wondering if there's something inside the .swf file that's causing this issue in particular, or if there's an issue with my device that's interfering with the flash player. Has anyone else run into an issue like this?

Probably a stupid question

Probably a stupid question but how can I make an already existing flash/adobe air game run assets that are already in the files. Game is Poptropica on Steam, it uses Adobe Air as it is an old flash game, it has some content that's in the files but not in the game, how would I get it to run?

Old Flash games not working on Wayback Machine with Ruffle

Hi, I've been trying to play some old Flash games from my childhood through Wayback Machine, but on certain pages, I get this error:

https://preview.redd.it/f0z42qenhnfe1.png?width=1273&format=png&auto=webp&s=674cea5bba90316d402430d2f2024adbcf497bc4

A few years ago, when Wayback Machine didn't yet have Ruffle implemented by default, I was able to play all those games on this browser without any problems whatsoever. Seeing as Ruffle still isn't fully complete, should I just wait until Ruffle is able to load these games, or would it be somehow possible to make it so that Wayback Machine does not attempt to load them through Ruffle?

Did you know that Learn to Fly 3 has a hidden debug menu?

It only works with older versions of the game as it was patched out of newer versions, but here's a copy of an older version where it does work.

Online (Ruffle emulated): https://flasharch.com/en/archive/play/0b73d7952a3fdb28c4e9244bee4106e0

SWF download: https://cdn.flasharch.com/uploads/archived/2025/01/04/0b73d7952a3fdb28c4e9244bee4106e0/main.swf

To enable the debug mode, start at the main menu and click Extras and Redeem Code. Enter this code (pasting it works, you do not have to type it out manually):

enableTestMenuK8DH76G5DGh3GH5g3bB5Gh4

If entered correctly, you will get a message saying that the debug menu has been enabled in the shop. Start a game (you can make a new save file or continue an existing file) with any game mode and play until you reach the shop. Once you reach the shop, press F2 on the keyboard. You will get these options:

Cash, Bonus Points, Rare Points (fish), SP1-3 (unknown purpose), Unlock All Items, Fake Game Win and Test All Medals.

The first 3 options are obvious. You get a text box where you can edit the values and they will update accordingly.

Unlock All Items, well, unlocks all items locked behind booster packs. This is useful if you lost your save data, or just want to mess around with the items without grinding completions.

Fake Game Win will automatically jump the player to the screen saying that the mode has been completed. This even works in sandbox mode which is interesting as you cannot win in sandbox, so the game only awards the player with 1 card from a booster pack (likely handling for in case someone manages to glitch a completion). Contrary to the name, this does mark a file as completed

Test All Medals unlocks many of the in-game medals and gives the corresponding awards for doing so.

Help me find this game! Friv Deleted

I’m trying to track down a 2D side-scrolling Flash game. It was originally available on Friv, but it disappeared from the site at some point. The game starred a robot dog (its body looked like a machine with tank tracks, a dog’s head, and it had a jetpack). The premise was that you had to stop a scientist, which you eventually do at the end of the game.

I remember three main locations: the starting area was a "Junkyard," then you moved on to a "City," and finally a "Laboratory."

As for weapons, there was an assault rifle, a laser gun that shot circular beams, a rocket launcher, and another gun with blue bullets. You could upgrade your weapons throughout the game. The enemies were mostly robots—both ground-based and flying ones.

Unable to open swf files

Hi everyone. I'm trying to open swf files for a game, but no matter how I do it (either by dragging into some flash player or opening files from there directly), the opener seems to only process one file, and I get a black screen occasionally with music in the background. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Help me find this game!

It was a game where you had to pick the planet elements in the right order to build a rocketship that would take off it you picked them in the right order. In most of the element picks, they would dig and build new structures, ponds, trees, etc.
