A little Ramza skeleton from airborne brigade to celebrate the event !
Every time I bring up a build using a different reaction there is always one person who comes in and is like BUT MANA SHEILD. WE KNOW....we all know that mana sheild does what it does, but it's not perfect. With other builds mana sheild people will say but what if a X comes up and deals 999 damage downing your character?
Well let's forget about phoenix downs, chemists, protect, sheild, and all the other possible ways to mitigate damage. Let us forget that with the right equipment you can render anything invalid. Let's also forget that chicken exists. Let's forget every other single portion of the game that makes this argument completely irrelevant. Mana Sheild.
You know what mana Sheild is? It's the reaction for people who can't figure any other possible ways to handle something. It's the reaction for people who don't want to have to do any kind of thinking. When I post another build not using mana Sheild for those who are but mana Sheild people.
I KNOW.
As the title states, I'm stuck.
How do I open the dam? I've defeated all the enemies, now my party is just wandering the battlefield trying to figure it out.
I was too lazy to shade this but I still had a lot of fun drawing it! This is my Nu Mou she is a time x black mage named Mimi, and running for dear life as she seems to have disturbed some malboros 💀
I want to draw more of her adventures with her clan but I still haven't nailed down all their designs yet lol. I think next I want to draw them fighting some worgen or slimes!
First time trying deleveling in the desert.
Once I found out about the stat lowering problem, I started hiring level 1 mercenaries to tailwind. I just repeated that to get all the class level and JP up. I then use the frog and berserk combo to automate some of this.
It’s been one heck of a grind. Another unit is close too, but will take a while since I stopped deleveling.
Off now to kill Argus. Excited!
I have been experimenting with soulbind as a reaction ability and find it to be insanely good.
Basic build Ramza Brave 97 Faith 03 Guts Darkness Soulbind Safeguard/attack boost Lifefont/move +3
Key beneficial status Haste, Regen, Reraise
Equipment notes Cursed ring (if running multiple darkness skills) this allows you to heal Ramza using darkness from other characters while performing AOE damage from unholy sacrifices.
Other than having the three major status you can pretty much center your equipment around needs.
Deleveling Health, and Speed. PA of course helps.
The staying power and utility of the build is something to behold. You can run Regen and lifefont sacrificing mobility making you hard to down...even if you are downed you reraise, sag sword for health, move for health, and end turn for health starting it all over. If you time your sag swords you never drop, but enemies will literally kill themselves attacking you. I've cleared battles just sending in Ramza healing passively, and watched enemies just kill themselves trying to take him down. I give it a 10/10 as a reaction to build around especially with guts and darkness. As you passively can dish out damage, heal, and shout/scream or tailwind (making you impossible to take down as you are healing constantly) At first I was running attack boost, but if you are running exclusive equipment then safeguard is the best option as knights can ruin your day with a well placed break. Definitely a build worth a try. You can run things like re-equip to boost your mobility until you are in melee distance, and then switch items off. Re-equip can have interesting utility with being able to manipulate equipment. Instead of hoping not to get hit you are hoping they get a critical strike lol.
Whoops. Believe it or not, unedited save, apparently my mage has a high toad hitrate because everyone got turned into a toad in one go unintentionally. Pretty hilarious situation. I just realized this battle is going to be nothing but gains for my jp
One of my main clan members is a Nu Mou White Mage who I’m considering giving Beastmaster abilities
Is it worth it? I just beat the Bangaa Totem and notice there aren’t as many monsters as there are humanoid battles so far
although those 3 seem to be an alchemist, a sage and a paladin respectively, this is certainly NOT the case
yes they have the same equippeble items like those 3 classes and the same movement (ezel with 3 being supposedly an alchemist while babus has 4 like a sage) they DO NOT share theire stat growths even though i read it several times on the web
i can prove this cuz i recently started powerlvling cid and babus and cid can get 8-9 atk, 1-2 mana and most importantly 1-2 speed each lvl up, which differs to the stat growth of a paladin
and babus gets 8-9 in both atk and matk and always guarantees to get 1 speed, never 0 or 2 which also differs to the stat growth of a sage
so thus my question
does anybody have the real datamined statgrowth of those 3?? pls let me know :)
Counter is the best part of the thief job in my opinion
Ignore main stats, look at move (mover), 8 , if I could instead of Ted id rename him to ICBM
(Sorry about the visible mobile buttons, we do a litle emulating)
A small humorous thing in FFT is that a lack of bravery literally turns you into a chicken. Also speaking of bravery I feel like Rapha does not match in deed with the bravery you get her with. She seems pretty brave up until you allow her to join. Beowulf also, but at least you can kinda justify it as he is sitting in the tavern for someone to go so he can join a group instead of going by himself.
I’m currently in chapter 1 and I am working on getting a dark knight. I am about 40% there. Still need Samurai, Dragoon, and Black Mage.
The thing is that I have been reliant on the leveling down in Zeklaus Desert to keep my level low so the random encounters do not slaughter me.
What are the long term effects of using this leveling down method? I do feel like my characters are weak, but that just might be general cause the monsters are just hitting heavier.
Square enix snapped with her character design
Just title. I don't want to mess with PSP emulators
In this game file I decided to do something for each special character so now I'm focused on doing something for Marach. Here are some of the options I've come up with. I would like to see if anyone can come up with something I may have missed. As a side note I am not above deleveling.
Option 1 97 br 03 Faith Black magic or Summon Nether Whatever (mana Sheild etc) Arcane strength/swiftness Whatever (manafont)
This build will be using the faith rod so that when casting black magic he counts as max faith, but for nether he counts as low faith. This build would allow him versatility between high faith and low faith enemies. Arcane strength for base, swiftness if deleveling. The reaction and move can be interchangeable for needs. Summon gives access to golem, and other some other useful stuff, as well as just summon damage.
Option 2 Because he wants as little faith as possible he could access dark knight and go for a fell sword build, but using dark knight would be redundant, AND it would be a pain to unlock for him. It's already a pain for anyone else, but with his skillset it would be a bigger pain.
Option 3 Geomancy Nether Whatever Arcane strength Whatever
This could give him versatility, and definitely give him access to good equipment. While geomancy isn't stellar it gives him further range, and chance for statuses. While not amazing this would be rather solid.
I'm not considering Samurai skill set because I'm already using it on his sister lol.
I can't really make up my mind. The faith rod build could be something worth trying though. What do you guys think?
I’m enjoying learning about this game
I‘m a big fan of the ff series and want to give tactics a try. But i cant find it on steam or playstation store. Where can i purchase the game?
I'm at the part where Tietra gets captured. I'm seriously regretting helping Argath. This boy is straight up asking for a beating. To make matters worse, I heard that the first option would have given me permanent brave points. Fml.
Really interested in the story so far. Does it get even better?
I just finished watching Berserk: The Golden Age, and I was struck by various parallels with Tactics. I'm an anime newb, and I'm curious if people could recommend me anime that they think are like FFT. Thanks so much!
I've recently decided I finally wanted to complete A2, as I've owned it for a long time, but never got around to completing it, but decided to start from the beginning of the series first. Now that I'm at A2, I was wondering if the strategy of dismissing all your units, then recruiting all level 1s is the "optimal" strategy. Obviously, the game was designed to be beaten without doing this, but I get an itch in my brain if I do something less optimal for some reason. I'm not such a perfectionist that I would do reset leveling, or like in WOTL, deleveling, but if I can start at level 1 as a more optimal job, I'd like to lol.
