A Place to Talk About the Game
Welcome to /r/FinalFantasyExplorers
The place to discuss Final Fantasy Explorers
What is Final Fantasy Explorers?
Final Fantasy Explorers is a multiplayer action RPG video game for Nintendo 3DS. It is set on Amostela, an island whose abundant crystals have attracted many Explorers. It focuses on cooperative play with friends, utilizing a refined party system allowing Explorers to master over 20 jobs, each offering unique ways to defeat or even recruit the realm’s mightiest monsters. Players will have the ability to call upon the powers of eidolons like Ifrit and Bahamut, as well as to transform into legendary characters from the FINAL FANTASY series via the Trance ability.

I picked up the game not too long ago and I've been loving it, especially all the references and homages to the previous games like the magicites and attires. So far, the only game I haven't really seen referenced is Final Fantasy II (maybe XI as well but I haven't played that one so I can't be sure). Does anyone know if there's any weapons or armour that are references to II? It's one of my personal favourites in the series so I'd love to use anything from it!
For those of you that got the collector's edition, how did you find the serial code? Was it on an individual piece of paper, or what?
So, i'm a returning EL 999 player, and i haven't gotten on in a while, but it seems this game is quite dead now. is there any discord that i could join that still has a semi-active community?
Hello, I've read in a wiki that Medusa character appears in Final Fantasy Explorers, but I couldn't find her in any youtube videos concerning that game. Can somebody help me and send a picture of her? Thank you!
Okay. This might sound a bit crazy for doing such stuff.
As the title says, I tried experimenting that one. And here's what I really did.
I bought a North America Game of FFEX and a Japanese one with the paid DLC, I'm using different region versions of Nintendo 3DS and homebrew it for backing up save files. NA and Japanese save share the same file name and format so I tried copying the one I have on the NA to the Japanese one. I am currently EL64 when doing this with about of 1M CP and Gil, All Jobs unlocked and a lot of mutation skills, quests are still in 6 stars with a couple of quests to do to reach 7 stars.
When I restore the NA Save to the Japanese Game, here are the consequences of doing that:
1.1 Your character will turn into the default character with a peach colored hair pallette, your face is the default 1 as well as the hair, and you will turn into a male character (if your character is a female) and as a Freelancer;
1.2 You Gil and CP will be all 0, you will become poor as hell;
1.3 Your Job are still there;
1.4 Mutation skills are gone;
1.5 Weapons and Armors are still there and how you upgrade it;
1.6 Your current subquests will be replaced as "Roam the World" without any rewards;
1.7 Quests you left on NA save are still there;
1.8 Explorer Level will start as EL1;
1.9 Areas you unlocked will restart, all of them are locked again;
1.10 Material are gone but Items stay on the inventory;
1.11 Magicite's are gone;
1.12 License will refresh and return back to 0 (All Monters and Eidolons you defeated/created and encase will be gone); and
1.13 As well as the weapon and Job usage will all get back to 0.
2.1 I restore the save I made on the Japanese Game into the NA Game and whats on the JP save game are still on the NA game. CP, Gil, EL, License, Jobs, and even the Materials I gathered from Omega quests. And it unlocked some 7 star and 9 star quests of Gilgamesh and Omega.
This means you can play the game from your Japanese Version and finish the quests that requires materials to craft the Weapons, and when you already craft the Legendary Weapons, you can copy your Japanese Save to your Local Game and see if the Legendary Weapons you craft is still there.
I'm still experimenting this way to see if it works and I don't want to use such Save Editors just for that Weapons due to some reasons. I'm not into save editors.
What are those legendary weapons that only those with the Collectors Edition of FFEX can get via Serial Codes??😅
I suppose that after all this time someone ought to have an idea how to do it, but what is the best way to break Odin to get the Warlord plate? I fought him around 10 times today switching between black mage and machinist but no luck with either. I tried targeting his head, his body, and the horse’s face, but no dice. Is there a more efficient way to get the warlord plate? I’ve just unlocked the 5* missions (dispelling the barrier around the grand crystal) if that means anything.
Yes, there are still 3DS players that regularly coordinate via the Discord, and we've even got a bit of a Citra community starting up! If you're searching for a comprehensive source of information that can't be found anywhere else on the internet, tips on how to go about mutating your skills effectively or friends to play with, your search stops with http://discord.me/ffex.

I was wondering what a good monster to deal damage in the beginning would be or something else that'd be good to use (doesn't really matter which one) Mighty thanks in advance

I've played the game several times over with hacking and withought and I get rather bored using the same classes so I picked up ninja somewhere along the way with this new character and I have to say it feels pretty busted. Is it the most dps in the world? No, but it's practically immortal to some degree, withoight being a deflect spamming sword reliant class...
But I need something new again since I'm too used to it and I figure daggers like artillery go under the radar, so anyone got some good dagger theif builds/build advice??
Current loadout is blade dance, elude, sneak attack, trick attack, mistral, trickster and mirage dive.
The rotation I've heard about is sneak attack > trick attack > blade dance > trickster > mirage dive > mistral
This requires two loadout +5 pieces of equipment (not that I mind those) but I'm not sure if raw mobility is better....for weapons I was thinking coral dagger or chicken knife or oblige. Cleavers defense minus 20 makes theifs too fragile right??
Any and all advice is appreciated as long as it's not "just go use swords"
Edit: oh yeah if anyone's curious I have to farm the mutations manually so knowing the mutations on things also helps

I was told by GameFAQ that you get it from the Leviathan.
I've given both the normal and Aberrant Leviathan 50 tries equally, and got ONE.
I was tired by the 25th try, getting my ass wooped, and one-shot by the Aberrant one constantly. I just want a damn Railgun! You only get this grindy, if the game wants you to pay for it!
Is there no other way to farm these rare goddamn items?
I was just thinking, they should totally remaster or make a sequel for this game on Switch. I had such a blast playing, and was thinking about it recently and how I haven't played in a while. Found my 3DS and might pick it back up.
So does anyone actually play anymore...I've been searching for a group and can't find one. I started over just for fun and can't find any beginners either.

Thinking about getting two 3DS versions of this game so my sons can play together locally in house. Is that possible? Do they have to achieve something in-game before that is possible? Can they progress separately and then together?
Never played this myself so not sure and local co-op stuff online is rather vague.
