Hey all. work from home and my last relationship left me kind of isolated. Trying to establish myself more again and figure out fun ways to get out of the house more when my kids are at their moms. What’s the best place to check for events going on (community, love performances, etc)? I’m kind of lost on all of this and as much as I love New Way, I can’t just keep going there to be around people. Thanks ahead of time!
It seems like they’re trying to force a giant expansion of taxes with a threat of public safety cuts. The extra money seems to be going towards a giant rec center instead.
I love Ferndale and have been a long tike resident but I don’t like this being forced to choose between worse public services or a giant rec center most won’t ever use.
I wish they could separate these things. What will actually happen if it passes or if it doesn’t?
I’m genuinely torn on the subject. Hope this doesn’t start a giant war but I’d like honest assessment of the situation.
Thanks, long time resident.
My car is starting to tell on me that I’m a dog owner. Anyone have a recommendation for a detailer?
Anyone interested in doing scrimmage on Sunday 10/27/24 this weekend at 5pm
People around me are saying Ferndale smelled/smells like "garbage"/"poop" this morning. Were they just sleepy or has anyone else smelled this today? r/Detroit has also posted about bad smells today.
I haven't noticed any smells. I think they might be smelling leaves.
Any good advice for finding a new apartment? I'm on Zillow but not finding a ton of great spots. I really want to move out of my current Detroit apartment to somewhere nicer but I'm at a loss for how to search for it.
And help would be greatly appreciated!
I’ve got a shower that’s dripping. I could check online reviews but wondering if anyone here has personal experience with anyone they trust.
If by some chance there's a guy on here that was at Ferndale foods yesterday and asked what my dogs name was yesterday, I'm sorry.
The context here is that I just got out of my truck and was walking into the store and had my dog in the truck as I was just running in and out. A guy came up to me and asked my dogs name to which I quickly responded and hurried inside.
For some reason in that moment I thought he was going to just go up and pet him as he had his head sticking out of the window. I realized as I got in the store how dumb that sounded and felt/still feel bad about it.
I'm usually on a mission when I'm out running errands. If you somehow see this, I'm sorry I didnt mean anything by it and hope we run into eachother again so you can pet him.
My b!
A group of cyclists doing a glow ride rode past my house in NW tonight. So cool! Does anyone have more info on this group?

any local groups for crochet/knitting? particularly something that meets evenings and/or weekends.
Any fans of bluegrass here? Just thought you may want to know about our Bluegrass Brunch event that we do monthly at Ferndale Project. Live music featuring Wilson Thicket from Noon-2pm, great food and drinks, and NO COVER!
