Feng Shui, in literal sense "Wind and Water", is a form of Chinese geomancy with the goal of harmonizing our environment in accordance with the geographical landscape to give us the advantage in life. Please read the sticky posts for a better understanding of the subject in general.
A place dedicated to the art and science behind this ancient Chinese system of aesthetics believed to use the laws of both Heaven (astronomy) and Earth (geography) to help one improve life by receiving positive qi.

I want to add a tv console but it seems a bit tight. Should I move the couch back a foot or flip the layout?
Hi everyone, my baby girl was born on November 10, 2024 at 9:20pm. We gave her a English name, and is looking for suggestions on a Chinese name. My Chinese isn’t great so my father in-law came up with 雯玲, what do you think?
not my best for actual scale, but should give an estimate of how the room appears/suggestions on how to decorate it. on the right is the layout of the room without furniture, furniture that has been in there is to the left-- walls are, well, walls. arches are walkways to and from the room, they're basically doors but have no physical door- the windows on top are floor to ceiling and take up the entire wall. the tv stand and fireplace are both built into the wall and cannot be moved. the couch has to rest against a wall as it is broken and cannot be replaced (we can't afford to replace it).
any suggestions would be great!
Such an awkward room… I’m preparing it for our aupair- thoughts on where I should put the queen sized bed? The window on the left wall has better view than the window at the top.
For context. I do craft a lot. I also game and wfh. I do have a book collection. I cannot figure out the best layout for this room. I currently have all of these furniture pieces. Willing to get rid of some. What would be the best layout. I have to have my computer and bed in this room lol. I tried to get the size and space as accurate as possible . Please help.
I can't find the best position for the bed in the master bedroom, any help please. TIA!
I just moved into this house. I gutted the living room out except for the couches and the TV stand. I bought a new rug, floor lamp and coffee table. I'm upgrading the TV from a 50 to a 55" soon, and I'm also replacing the stand in the near future.
The wall the TV is currently on is the shortest wall in the living room and not ideal. I don't know why, but it's not sitting great with me. The whole space is super open floor plan. I really want to make the living room more cozy in terms of layout. I'm considering putting the sofa or love seat against the window wall, moving the TV and stand (will be 55" and new stand) to the center of the large wall where the sofa currently is, and then moving the sofa or loveseat where the TV stand currently is (if that all makes sense). Coffee table stays pretty much in place, and perhaps floor lamp does too.
Any thoughts on this? I have to keep the door to kitchen path walkable. Open to all thoughts - and maybe the way it is now is the only way I can do it, I don't know.
My home office is a rectangle and it's very narrow. It's 12ft by 7ft. On one short wall is a window and on the other short wall is the door. There's no way to not have the door at my back or a window at my back. I have two desks that are both mine. One is a work desk with work-provided laptop and monitor which is 40" wide. And the other is my personal desk with my desktop PC and two monitors which is 55" wide.
Any advice on the best possible layout for this space would be awesome.
I currently have my work desk in the top left corner facing the wall, and my personal desk is in the bottom right facing the wall with the window to my right side.
The small rectangle at the bottom in are window bays. Thank you.
Heard that Trump believed in fengshui. Really? Did fengshui really made a good impact on his career???
I'm trying to figure out where the best place to put my bed is based on where the entrance for my room is. It's like a little offset which makes me like unsure of what to do. I provided a picture. There are 2 arrows (arrow 1 and arrow 2) that point to which placements I would put the bed (headboard on the wall, unless I could do something else?). Which one would be better?
Is it OK to order one online or maybe not? If so, where could I order an authentic/legit pixiu bracelet? I live in Southern Europe that's why I'm asking. Thank you already for the answers🙏
Hi! So day before yesterday, I (24F) had a Feng Shui consultation in my house. Bit of context, my family’s undergoing a rough patch- my dad’s diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. So this consultant comes, asks for the floor plan, suggests crystals and salt remedies, all of which were going quite fine until that point. However, she then took out a tape ( The Lillian Too Feng Shui Tape) and upon measuring my parent’s mattress dimensions, said that the “length is unlucky and shows that there might a death of the spouse” Additionally, the consultant predicted that my mom will have “severe health issues” next year. Im shit scared, can anyone here tell me if these predictions are gonna come true or not? Please help me out.
I am a teenager living in a section of my home's basement and have a slightly unconventional layout. Here is how I currently have the main components of my room positioned. I know it is probably not optimal, so I have come here to seek some help.
(also, I have been looking to downsize my desk if that helps with anything)
Is there another way?
Hello Everyone! I was just reading about Ba-qua/Bagua mirrors and saw 2 sources which seemed fairly credible that said not to use Ba-qua mirrors on the front of apartment doors (such as mine, which is in the interior of a building with another door leading outside). What could I use instead for a similar effect? Deflecting negative qi/energy/evil spirits and maximizing the flow of good qi/energy, protection, harmony, abundance, etc. I live in apartment number 4 on (you guessed it) the 4th floor of a building. Any advice would be highly appreciated. Thank you!
I’d like to move my couch down, but I’m also thinking about rotating the couch 189 degrees and moving it back, and putting the tv where it is. Any help in rearranging this room would be much appreciated
Me and my partners 1 bed is small, but I’m curious as to suggestions on how to best fit furniture in for the best Feng Shui?
For the front/ living room we want to fit in a small dining table maybe, a couch, and a TV
For the bedroom we want to have a double bed, and wardrobe for 2.
Not really sure where to start :\
I am quite mad because it makes me anxious. What would happen if someone else wore my bracelet? What can I also do? Should I buy another one? How can I properly get rid off the first one which was worn by my sister ? Please help. Thank you!
