Hi everyone! I’m exploring a futuristic narrative centered around climate catastrophe and desertification, focusing on technical apparel using reflective fabrics and modern materials. My goal is to develop something innovative with a contemporary, futuristic aesthetic.
I’m struggling to find references that go beyond the typical “Dune” aesthetic. If anyone has suggestions for designers, photographers, or stylists who approach similar themes in a unique way, I’d love to hear them!
Thanks in advance! 😊
How can I work with bigger fashion brands? I have a solid portfolio and have some pretty nice experience under my belt. I just want to be able to get paid the big bucks!
hi, i’m a freelance photographer new to the fashion scene. i applied for a pass to the february 2025 new york fashion week hosted by runway 7 and got accepted!
i was doing some researching and found that the press pass just gives you access to enter the event but not the individual shows that take place. as i’m not connected to any publication or news source, im not sure if individual designers would accept me and what gng to nyfw without invitations beyond the press pass would look like.
i found out through more researching that you can see contacts posted for trade shows for the february show on the modem website so i plan to email those contacts now and as more pop up.
does anyone have any suggestions or things i should be doing to prepare myself for opportunities in february? i’d really like to expand my portfolio and get some cool shots of the runway. thank you!
Hi everyone, I’ve been a photographer for 5 years and have done it professionally for 2. I primarily focus on concert/music photography but I’ve been itching to try fashion photography for a long time now. I did a small one hour shoot for a clothing line last year and fell in love with the process and I’d love to do more! Does anyone have any advice to get started especially since I don’t particularly know anyone?
Hi everyone,
Tomorrow I will be photographing a charity fashion show hosted by my university. This will be my first time photographing a fashion show, but I have a lot of experience doing events and portraits. I'm mainly looking for tips on:
As this is a charity event I am not getting paid, however I did send my standard contract to the event organiser and got it signed.
Regarding my gear, I have a Sony a7iv camera, Sigma 28-70mm lens and a Godox V1 flash.
