Are we getting an 8-pointer from Vardy this week or is the pattern just here to mess with us?

Leicester: Easy points or an Amateur's Downfall?

Leicester City have a favorable run over the next four gameweeks, including two matches against newly promoted sides. Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest may pose some challenges, but they’re manageable, especially if Forest stumble after facing tough teams like Chelsea and Palace. Leicester also offers great budget options with Faes (4.1), Winks (4.5), and Vardy (5.7), all starting regularly and ideal for bench rotation.

The Foxes' cheap assets are tempting, with a solid chance to deliver points. Bournemouth have been in decent form, but Forest could dip, making these upcoming fixtures look even more appealing. I’d say Leicester’s assets are worth considering now, especially for bench depth, with Vardy potentially being a sneaky pick in the next couple of gameweeks.

I would wait through this gameweek before trying a big move on any of these, swooping in on easy fixtures and cheap prices when Leicester's following matchups look more favorable. Faes might not be a starter for me, as the Leicester defense haven't been so strong, but Vardy, a proven goalscorer over multiple seasons could be a great bench pick, even starter material if relied upon.

What are your thought on Leicester's upcoming fixtures? (I already have all 3 cheap Leicester picks for bench fodder, but if I didn't I would wait a week)

The ice Man Cole Palmer - is he Vital and is anyone else bringing him in this week thread

I know it feels reactionary or Kneejerkish to bring him in this week after his onslaught but the guy scares me, Never had him Last season till the end and by then he obliterated me although I still got a good finish.

Although not 100% I'm Almost certain on prioritising his services this week as I have the exact amount to make the move tonight pending a potential price rise, I know his fixtures don't look great going forward but I don't care, he's borderline fixture proof and don't fancy bringing him in when all these creators say they are in gw 12+ when he will be close to 11mil.

Yourubers in shambles this year so my advice would be to always do your own thing that way you have nobody to blame but yourself, glad I ignored them from the get go and avoided all the traps so far.

Any one else feeling cole this week and bringing him in or are you waiting ?

Congrats to those who benefited from his haul last week and well done to those with the balls to captain him.

The Weekend's Narratives (GW7)

Palace VS Liverpool - Palace won the last league match by a single Eze goal. The Eagles are without a win, while LFC sits at the top of the table. This fixture used to be high scoring but the last few encounters have been close. 1-2 Liverpool

Arsenal VS Saints - Should be a routine win for Arsenal before the International Break. FPL wise, those with Saka are hoping he delivers in this fixture. Don't be surprised if some key players pull up with "injuries" before FT. 3-0 Arsenal

Brentford VS Wolves - Will Brentford score in the 1st minute? Wolves have gotten the best of Brentford in more recent Head to Heads. Should be a good back and forth game, with Wolves hoping to move above Saints. 2-2

Leicester VS Bournemouth - Tough one to call. The Foxes have been better than most perceive, but Bournemouth are playing beautiful Ireola football. 1-2 Bournemouth

Man City VS Fulham - Fulham haven't lost since the first day of the season. Regardless, it should be a standard win for City. 3-1 City

West Ham VS Ipswich - West Ham have zero wins at home this season. They will surely be looking to correct this versus a promoted side. But Ipswich are no pushovers as seen with their draw VS Villa. 1-1

Everton VS Newcastle - Everton celebrated their first win of the season last weekend but could be lite at the back if Brainthwaite and Mykolenko are out. Newcastle are without their star striker (Unless Howe is lying again) but are still capable with Gordon up top. 1-1

Villa VS Man Utd. - This could be EtH's last game judging by Sir Jim Ratcliffe's comments. Villa are on a high after their midweek victory. 3-2 Villa

Chelsea VS Forest - In this fixture last year Forest won by a single goal. Surely Nuno is going to play negative football and look to hit on the counter. Will it be enough to keep out the Cold? 2-1 Chelsea

Brighton VS Spurs - Will Fabian play a naive high line against a team known for punishing on the counter? Brennan is the flavour of the month, can he make it 6 in 6. An interesting game to see if either of these managers can be tactically flexible. 2-2

How do I build team value and how to avoid it dropping?

I decided to activate a wildcard this gw,but only now I realised my team value is 99.8 which is crazy low. Apart from Murphy I didn't have many players that really dropped in price a lot,so for the next season how do I avoid it,and how to I build it back now?

What are the best under the radar differentials.

I’m not talking about cunhas, davises, delaps, or McNeill. I want some proper under the radar picks that not many have. My example would be buonotte, he has very good fixtures and has easily been leicesters best player in recent weeks.

Son replacement thread

Son owners, where to go from here? Obviously if you have the money in the bank Palmer looks good but many of us don't.

Foden could be a huge upside pick but of course he won't start every game. I feel Madison is gonna start hauling soon and spurs have good fixtures. I don't think Diaz/Jota is a good idea

Any other directions to take the team?

John stones

So pep has talked about stones being used to fill Rodris position in the meantime etc. Do you think the bald fraud is gonna start him?

How safe is Trossard for next couple of games?

I thinking of getting Trossard over Eze since i'm missing 0.1 for Mbuemo :-(

I'm okay with him not being safe for the longterm since I still haven't use my WC, but is he nailed for at least SOU and BOU? (I already own Gabriel and Havertz)

FPL Gameweek 7 Preview - Was Wildcarding a Mistake?

Hiello again, everybody.

We've barely been able to stomach FPL, after we both played our wonderful wildcards. But, here we are again, gutting it out anyway with another preview.

Full piece here:

full90fpl.com/gameweek-7-preview-2024/

Alternatively, as always, here's a shorter TLDR

Is your FPL season over after a bad wildcard?

Not at all!  I feel your pain, my wildcard cost me 38 points this week , but don't lose hope. The top 10k and 3 million rank are still within 100 points of each other!

 Current point totals by rank:
10k - 457 points
1m - 399 points
3m - 369 points

Best Upcoming Fixtures

  • Man City: FUL (H), wol (A), SOU (H) – Great run, but outside of Haaland, rotation risks are high
  • Brentford: WOL (H), mun (A), IPS (H) – Mbeumo is the top target here. Pens, talisman, and cheap
  • Everton: NEW (H), ips (A), FUL (H) – Not great options, but McNeil and Calvert-Lewin are decent budget picks.

Buy/Sell

Plenty more detail in the piece, on these! But, here's a quick summary:

  • Buy: Mbeumo, Solanke, McNeil
  • Avoid: Jackson, Raul, Leicester defenders
  • Maybe: Luis Diaz, B. Johnson, Delap

Captaincy Corner

Saka vs Southampton, or trusty Haaland at home
It’s a tight call this week, but don’t stress too much!

It’s still early days, so play smart with your transfers and captaincy choices. You’ve got plenty of time to turn it around!

That's It

For the fellow (non-Palmer especially) wildcarders out there, it can't get any worse... right?

Let's all find out together, in Gameweek 7!
