Got this at an antique store - want to know if it's real or fake
This is a random Grallator footprint I found in Ebay, probably real I dont know. I have been looking for a similar track for a while now and I always wondered two things:
They seem so easy to fake using tracks, some birds make very similar tracks too, for example the Darwin's rhea or the lesser rhea.
I wonder how you can tell appart a real from a fake one, the print itsself is often covered by wax to make it stand out, thats fine, but then I need to find out genuity based on the surounding matrix. Could such matrix be easily faked aswell?
Would be awesome to have one, but I dont know enough about it. Anyone has a better idea?
The positive and negative matches, but not sure how capability it can be made as fake one
Hi everyone,
What is your opinion about this fossil? Does it look real to you, or do you think it is fake?
