Anything FZ-09!

Fall riding in the Midwest 🫡🍃🏍️
I’m trying to get rid of the yellow by next year, but want some inspiration with darker colors. I plan on painting it, so no need to stick with oem colors.
Basically a pic request, if anyone has a blue FZ-09 with "blurple" wheels?
Also, what's the actual paint code for that color?
I'll powdercoat the rims over the winter, but I was thinking of doing something other than black.
Thanks in advance!
Bought her 2 years ago with roughly 25,000km on it. Now she's at slightly over 40,000km.
My 2014 has been sitting for a couple years. It only has about 3500 miles. Bought new in 2014 and it wound up not getting ridden much for a few years. From 2017-18 I put on about 3000 miles and then it was rarely rode until 2021. At the end of 21 it went in storage and just came out. I put a new battery in, oil, filter, plugs. New tires going on tomorrow (still on factory Battle Axes from 2013 🫣) just took it for a little ride and it runs great. Anything I’m missing that I should do to get it in riding shape?
Does anyone know if I can tighten the clutch on my 2015 fx09 ? I’m 350 miles from home and it started slipping
I'm looking at permanently importing at 2019 MT09 from Canada to California and trying to determine if there are differences in manufacture that would result in it needing modifications to be legally registered in the US.
Before I go and replace the Master Cylinder, I wanted to know if any one else has these marks on the front brake master cylinder (see pictures below).
If you can post a photo of yours, that would be appreciated!
This is a 2016 FZ-09
Thank you u/tyuput for confirming that it is NOT normal. Here's what an undamaged one looks like.
I pulled 146 on my 2015 FZ09. I've had the ECU flashed but I haven't gotten it on a Dyno.
Anyone has this on their bike?
Looking to get feedback on how it compares to Akrapovic or Yoshimura.
Thanks!
What's up guys,
Wondering if anyone has had a similar noise from their CP3 and what their diagnosis was? I am aware of the common rattle that can come from the clutch on the FZ/MT09 and how most of the CP3s develop it at some point. When I bought the bike at 6k miles it had it then and I was able to hear the difference in the sound when engaging/disengaging the clutch.
This is different and I started hearing it about 100 miles ago. The noise is constant, a metallic kind of ticking noise that does not change whether the clutch is pulled in or not. Any ideas as to what it could be?
It's a 2015 FZ09 with 10,000 miles and the full Akrapovic carbon exhaust system. I'm guessing cam chain tensioner? Seems a bit too early on to have an issue with valve clearance
I know someone posted about doing their turn signals yesterday and how they got rid of the wobble that all of us first gen-ers know too well, that is if you still have the stock turn signals on.
Long story short, I took apart my turn signals and removed the rubber sleeve that was causing it to wobble. The turn signal fit VERY snugly into the slot and I applied a little JB weld to ensure it won't fly off.
Fully redlining, they don't move even a bit! And I still have my full turn radius. They don't hit the sides of the gas tank.
I sourced a set of turn signals from a 2021 MT-09 SP to fit onto my 2016 FZ-09.
If you ever decide to take this project on, you'll have to cut the connector from your FZ-09 flasher and reuse it onto the MT-09 flasher. As far as the front goes, it's a direct fit + the connector work. Also, the lights do not wobble which is great!
Add a relay to stop the hyper flash and you're good to go!
Bought a used 15 FZ09 with a salvage title and was messing around in a parking lot with the front brake and was easily locking up the front and sliding the tire. Was quite surprised as I assumed all 2015 FZ09s in the states had ABS. Anyone know what to do to troubleshoot??
I’ve seen tons of vids and talked to many people and read forums about how bad fz09 suspension is. But what year does it get good? I know 2014 is horrible. What about 2015 and up?
Need a left side panel for my bike in the bluish white pearl. Was moving across the country and my future roommate insisted I took a desk from home. Desk ended up shifting in the trailer and taking the paint off. If anyone has any inquiries about one let me know.
Hi I'm going to buy a 2015 fz09 with 35000 miles from a dealership, Should I be worried about the high miles or anything else
I was looking for a CB650R (never owned one), but most owners think that their 4 year old bike is worth the same price as a new one... so I went searching for an FZ-09 again, since that was my favorite bike and most sellers had reasonable prices.
After looking at a few, this one came out on top (mind you it needs a bit of work).
I'll build it up during the fall/winter, but I'll take a different route from my old build.
If anyone is looking for a Corbin seat, this one is for sale as well as the Arashi rear sets (going back to OEM).
The GYTR one is beyond overpriced... I'm wondering what's the runner up in terms of fitment/quality.
Let me know which one is good for a 2016 model. Thanks!
Just wondering if anyone here has had a head gasket go on these bikes?
2018 model, 40,000kms (24,000 miles for you freedom people)
Coolant keeps pushing into the overflow bottle but doesn’t return back to the radiator. Ends up dripping out of the overflow after a while.
Changed rad cap, done a coolant flush and bled the cooling system. I literally don’t really know what else it could be?
It seems way too young to have done a head. Bikes been ridden a bit hard but always been maintained
Overall feels very solid, zero instructions so there’s some trial and error involved. For whatever reason I’m not sure why but the cross bar that does in front does not line up (to be fair it’s a tight fit so there’s not much wiggle room so I’ll have to revisit it at some point to figure out why it doesn’t line up considering everything else lines up perfectly fine) so if you have any tips on that I’m all ears.
Is riding with a backpack harder? Like in terms of braking and leaning
Anyone here have the GYTR fender eliminator on their bike? If so, please post some photos of it.
Looking to get feedback on how it's holding up and if it's a direct bolt on.
Also, for the GYTR rad cover, does anyone know where I can get one for a decent price? (2016 FZ-09)
Fender eliminator always shows this picture:
(2015 FZ09, 12k miles) Hey yall, as of Tuesday I slapped on the m4 Slip-On exhaust and it's been great, however there are a few things Im not sure about. Ive recently checked my mpg onscreen and it says I'm getting 13mpg. That's really bad and I'm not sure what's up. I've been running it without the baffle. So my questions are is the low mpg directly related to the exhaust or is it a different issue? I never checked the mpg before...:( I've been wanting to get it tuned in hopes that will make it run more efficient, but I don't know how to go about that, any recommendations?
hey guys, just putting out some feelers here to see if anyone maybe interested. I’m moving across the country and decided i’m not gonna deal with shipping and re-registering in a different state. Gonna flip the FZ and get another when I get settled on the other side.
Let me if you’re interested and i’ll send you the listing, details, etc
Just hit 29k on my 17 FZ-09. Been putting off the valve adjustment (I know should be done at 26k). Bike runs totally fine, do you guys DIY your valve adjustments or take it to a shop to get it done? I’ve done valve adjustments on other bikes but this one looks like a pain in the a**. Suggestions welcome. Also while we are here how many people have gone past their 26k interval?
