As per the title, I was out on a ride and stopped at a junction at this point the bike was sounding fine. I then pulled away and accelerated quickly but only to a speed of 30. After reaching this speed I realised the bike was making this sound as shown in the video. I believe it may be the chain and I may have stretched a section when pulling away as it is an abused chain that has been on my list of replacements for a while now. Does anyone recognise the noise and would be able to help diagnose the issue? Any help would be appreciated!
I'm currently looking into ordering a new sprocket and chain now.
A few weeks ago I heard a new noise that happens upon acceleration, through multiple gears, coming from the left side of the bike. The best way I can describe it is like a piece of plastic flapping in the wind, as crazy as that sounds. I checked my chain tightness and it's within what the owners manual says, I also cleaned the chain as well and I am still hearing it. I tried to take a video on my Insta360 but it doesn't really pick up the noise. This is a long shot, but does anyone have any suggestions, or maybe heard anything similar on their bike?
So today I got into a pretty ugly crash on the street on my Mt 07. Details apart, I now have a completely trashed front end and a bike to rebuild. Since my front fork broke in half my biggest question is if I should take the opportunity to do something like an R6 front end swap or just get another stock fork and if I need better performance, modify it in the future.
I've read that in terms of performance the gains with the R6 fork are not optimal as it can be too stiff and over stress the frame, as well as mess with the geometry. The cool factor is awesome though and it might even make sense cost wise.
I'd like to hear your opinions on the matter. Do I turn it into a cool project or stick to stock and avoid any issues?
Hey fellas, so I ride a Vulcan s 650 but I’ve been looking for fz/mt07s on marketplace nonstop for the past two months. I found a 2017 for sale with 600 miles on it for under 4K. The only catch is that I’d need to trade my bike in for it and it’s twelve hours away from me. Do you guys think this is a good idea?
I just picked up a 2017 FZ-07 with 15,xxx miles.
After getting it home, I realized I wasn't see an accurate oil level. I decided to change it to be cautious, even though the prior owner had done it 2k miles ago. To my surprise, it had around 1 gallon of oil, instead of 2.5-2.7 quarts.
With that being said, what other maintenance items should I get ahead of at this mileage? I am considering doing the front and rear brake fluid, and perhaps a coolant flush too.
Are there any good parts that match the greenish yellow? I have the 2018 Night flip model ( 2. Gen/ RN17 )
If possible, also street legal in GER/AT
Picked up a 2017 FZ07 for my first bike and love it. Bought it with 7000kms, and a few upgrades such as the exhaust, bars, TST lights and tail tidy.
Had my fz for about 6 months now and just got a ftecu bike side and loaded a tune on it. It pops a little more now but sometimes it pops while cruising. Wondering if it’s the tune or something else? I have a new air filter coming soon. Wondering if I need to change spark plugs as I’m not sure if the previous owner did it. Has 15,500 on it currently. Just did a snorkel mod and It feels like the power band is a little stronger. Maybe the popping while cruising is normal and I just noticed it now since I’m listening for it not sure.
I am french and maybe you don’t know but for several years (prob’ 2015-2022) the FZ07 (MT07 in europe) was the best-seller in France. I have seen some FZ07 in the USA but is it a very common bike ?
FZ-09 2016. This morning ran into error code 5d-19. I did some research here and forms that is connected to the kickstand switch or that it is the safety switch on the ignition. I attempted to miss with it today, greasing the plunger in the kickstand switch, looking over wires/ connections, fuses. No luck. Tracing the wires are a pain in the ass under the tank. Anyone else with this issue found a nice fix cuz I would like to ride this guy as I recently got it and not to much time left where I live.
I'm getting ready to do a chain and sprocket replacement, and saw that changing the counter shaft nut is also recommended. I'm guessing that the part is compatible with several Yamahas but I want to be sure. Is it 90197-22018?
Hi all, I’m planning on upgrading from my current fz-07 to something “bigger”. At first I was set on a liter bike, which is still semi in the picture but I know I’ll never use the power, never get anywhere close to it, and would get into more trouble then fun. I’m a confident rider and feel like I can hop on anything and learn and control the bike. To me every bike has its “happy range” on the highway and the 07 is like 85-95 even when I don’t try. I just look down and it’s there. If I had the power to do 13~ easily I probably would and want to avoid it. My big requirement for bikes are, as silly and cringy as it sounds, are
Has personality
For a brief run down of my riding history I’ve had my fz for awhile now
I’ve ridden an fz09 and honestly loved it power sound and feeling wise except the look just turned me away super fast. The teal wheels definitely didn’t help.
Triumph 675r was super cool. Loved the sound and the feeling of a super sport but couldn’t handle the super duper loud exhaust 24/7.
R6 which honestly gave me the best feeling and it literally surprised me to the point where I had to hold on tight to it but again the super super loud ear bleeding exhaust is only awesome for a little while.
I like the fz09s feeling of power and everyday comfortability, the bent over sporty position of the triumph, and the personality of the r6.
The only riding I do is commuting, occasional joyrides, but no track and never intense twisties. I just need something to get me to school that’ll make the 35 minute commute exciting, something I can slightly hoon around (wheelies) and still give the occasional Uber ride for friends and what not.
Bikes I always dream about are tuono v4, triumph 1200rr (perfect bike imo),xsr900, and monster 821. A Ducati sport 1000 from tron is the peak of the bike world but the exhaust ruins it for me but the sound look and everything else is 11/10.
Maybe should I get an r1 for awhile just to experience it then get something classic and fun?
I understand this is a long post and super specific and random but if anyone has any suggestions there are no wrong answers. Budget is a play but I’d sell mine and throw cash ontop for the next. Thanks.
Does any one know if a 2011 fz8 engine will fit in a 2015 fz07
Took off the chain cover for cleaning my bike. Been dealing with this oil leak since a while. I think I have found the leak. It’s coming from under this bolt on this sensor? I believe it’s the oil pressure sensor? Or am I wrong?
MT 07 crash cage in cyan Storm 2024
Hi I’m struggling to find a crash cage in cyan storm for my 2024 MT07. Can someone please recommend me a place to go to and even better comment a link to a website. Thank you. Example photo
I know everyone says rear tires don’t matter for stunting. I’m looking for a rear tire that isn’t super soft or super hard, a happy medium if u will. Preferably a flatter tire. Any recommendations?
