Weird squeak.

Having some sort of weird squeaking noise that’s hard to diagnose. Can’t tell if it’s just one place or multiple but it only happens when I’m hitting multiple potholes or cracks in the road that seem to jostle the truck side to side a bit. Sounds like metal on metal. Any ideas where to start?

Have never been happier with a car purchase.

Ever since my mom owned an FJ back when I was in school I've wanted one, finally secured this beautiful Calvary Blue 2012 FJ last week.

It was in surprisingly immaculate condition with 50,000 miles less then it should have. Win!

FJ Cruiser mod

Has anyone thought about turning their FJ cruiser electric? Can it be done? Would it perform better than the stock engine?

I know I can get a turbocharger to increase the speed/acceleration, but I know how much fuel the fj cruiser burns with and without the mod.

I want to be more conscious about the emissions of the car as well as the idea of recycling older vehicles that we love to see being viable and helpful to the earth. I wouldn't mind working on my own to get it done, if someone connect me to another individual that could help me get that done, then we could probably turn it into a business.

Realistically how much can I sell my 2wd fj for? Details below

2008 219k Bilstien leveling shocks up front New battery Has those abs lights on 24/7 for whatever reason Passenger window glass broken, rear driver glass broken In Las Vegas

Was a daily until I bought a gx, the windows listed above are broke because I parked it outside my house when I got the gx and was broken into, it’s been in a storage unit for the past few months, I stop by to start it every other week.

Lemme know what y’all think, I really don’t wanna deal with the extreme low ballers but I also understand this thing is kinda cooked. I was honestly thinking of posting it for 7 or 8, the ones in Vegas sell pretty high for whatever reason, 10-13k for similar miles

I just flipped my car (did 1 full roll)

I was drifting in the desert and it went sour, now I basically have to replace all body panels on the car except the back and bonet, how much do yall think this should cost?

USB accessory wiring

I purchased this usb accessory on Amazon and this is the wiring it came with. I’m not too familiar with ring terminals, and how to use it. Does anyone have any advice on how to work this, or a resource they can share that showcases how this is used?

I’m no electrician, im just trying to learn how to do more diy on my FJ.

Odd noises. Any ideas?

So I've owned my 2011 automatic FJ for about two years and got it with 66,000 miles on it.

Over time, I've learned it's quirks such as noises from air moving across the roof rack/windshield strip, rusted heat shields, the weird rear-ended feeling you get if you make too sudden a stop etc.

There is one noise that drives me bananas and I could use help diagnosing.

I hear a slight hollow, metallic sound that is very odd. It started maybe 6 months ago. I only hear it when in drive or reverse (never P or N).

The noise is clearly heard when I am stopped with my foot on the brake or when driving at a speed of around 25mph or slower.

Letting the vehicle warm up and making turns don't seem to make any difference. No difference with ac or heat running.

Transmission shifts smoothly with no shutter. The noise doesn't have any felt consequence to it but it's extremely annoying.

I've asked my father who restores vintage cars and wife to listen for it and they swear I'm nuts because they don't notice anything but I can tell its there.

I've had the whole vehicle fully inspected by a higher-end transmission/mechanic shop and they hear it but they believe it's the cat converter. That seems odd to me because there is no rattling sound at all and emissions and acceleration are not affected. No warning lights on the dash either.

All fluids in the vehicle have been changed on time to Toyota's specs and I've had a fresh serpentine belt put on and everything checked over thoroughly. No signs of transmission issues or other more serious problems. Some heat shields are a bit loose but this sound is remarkably different from when I've had a loose heat shield before.

Does anyone have any ideas?
