Hey all. This is my second or third favourite game in the FF series and I've 100%'d it once already, but I have not replayed it since 2018 or so I think. I've tried a bunch of games this year after Rebirth and a fifth Elden Ring playthrough and they've all seemed hollow (honestly, I feel like all I've played since 2022 is Elden Ring and Civ 6 over and over....i need something different). I want to got back to one of the greats.
As I jump back in, however, I notice that Comrades has disappeared from my menu options. This is the only part of the game that I never really paid much attention to. I wanted to this time, even if it is all offline.
But...it's just gone? I play on a PS5 and I definitely had it downloaded and have played it before.
So...is it just gone? It's not on the PS store either. Is it like those delightful events they had back in the heyday? The festival in the leviathan area and the assassins creed thing in the town on the main continent? (Apologies, it's been 6 years I don't remember the names).
That's too bad...but, perhaps a reddit crowd will help me out.
Whenever I switch to Ignis and build up the total clarity meter to use it, pressing the button does nothing. It's the same button as warp strike, I've tried changing the keybind multiple times like to a mouse button but total clarity still doesn't work at all. Has anybody found a fix? It's kind of a bummer because it gimps Ignis as a character to use and I feel bad missing out on using entire party party member because his mechanic doesn't work. Thank you.
So I’ve played on pc and Xbox but see that it was in my library on ps5 so I thought I should platinum it. It’s been awhile since I have played. Anyone got any tips for starting a new play through?
Trying to Complete the Bestiary and need to defeat a Bomb but have been unable to locate any.
I have tried multiple times doing the Hunt against Grenades in altissia, but the Grenades refuse to explode and spawn any bombs.
Have been using fire magic to keep the Grenades alive for over 45 minutes in 1 battle, with no bombs being spawned.
I cannot remove the bros primary weapon to keep them from attacking the Grenades.
I have tried roaming at night across lucis hoping for a random spawn but all I get are iron giants and various goblin variants.
So at this point i'm wondering if the bombs are even in the game since i have clearly not encountered any in a 40+ hour platinum play through having completed all the Hunts, Dungeons, Menace Dungeons and 90% of the side quests.
If anyone can help, has suggestions, please let me know. Thanks
FFXV my second FF game! Repost bc I deleted some text, I dont want others to get some spoiler contdxt 😌
Hey guys! I just completed the game! Very awesome and I like it a lot. Mixed emotions but boy I did not expect the ending 😦. A bit excited rn bc I'll play the new game + and the downloadable content since I got the royal edition 😌🥳 haha.
Glad to find this subbreddit for the same fans like me! Never knew this game was so good! It's not that perfect but I kinda like the story line, quests and all. voice actors 10/10 🙇♂️.
(This was my 2nd FF game and it did not dissapoint- Also If you got any FF game recos, i would def play it 😌. )
Thats it! Thanks for reading my bros! Let's keep playin! Much love and take care everyone! ❤️
Hello everyone, I’m absolutely devastated. I’ve bought this game a while back for the nostalgia, and over the last couple months i’ve been pouring my heart into a replay. I touched 40 hours and got to chapter 9 doing all of the sidequests.
Now, my boyfriend came over, and to show him how much i loved the game i decided to give him his own savefile. I went to saved files, pressed an empty slot and clicked new game.
Somehow, the game overwrote my entire old savefile? It’s all gone! I’m absolutely devastated to my core. Is there any way to recover this?
I had another 10 open save slots left, this makes no sense. It didn’t give me an option to not do it either. Strange is, that with my old playthrough it made copies as well. So why are all of my old gamefiles just GONE?
TLDR: game overwrote file for no reason, how to get 40 hours of my life back? I play on ps4, royal edition.
so i finished the game about 2 years ago and i’m getting back into it and trying to get 100% achievements, but i noticed the “tri-headed triumph” trophy never popped. its been a while so i don’t even remember that boss fight happening at all lol but i read that he was a mandatory boss that can’t be missed which confuses me as to why i didn’t get the achievement. when i’ve traveled back to the citadel he’s no longer there. is my only option at this point to do a new game+ or chapter select? and on the topic of chapter select, does that mean i would have to make a separate save of my current game that i can go back to after using chapter select since i think it deletes side quest and map progression? 🤷 just trying to be very sure i don’t mess up anything here
Does anyone know who are the members and their positions of the Royal council?
Besides King Regis, Clarus Amicitia was part of the council as the head of the Crownsguard according to the fandom wiki. But there isn't anymore information about the other members as far as I can tell.
Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you in advance.
So I saw that getting 1 mil in score attack is challenging and thought “hey just get to 500k for shirtless Gladio and come back” but somehow got over 1 mil first try. Idk if I’m really lucky or if I just am decent at parrying from my souls game exploits, but either way I’m both happy and disappointed.
The idea that this boy set up his camera, mid fight, to take a photo of himself launching his bazooka, is both badass as it is hilarious
Is there any lore (or speculation) on how the chocobros end up on the train in Niflheim territory after Altissia? I was looking at an Eos map, and it there’s still a significant amount of ocean between Accordo and the Niflheim continent… I feel like they wouldn’t be able to just jump onto an airship after all that chaos. And the royal vessel kind of seems out of question too.
I've been playing a few hours today and a few yesterday and I've yet to see a person. Has the game died or am I just not finding anyone?
The keybinds I set it to do not work and Google is not helping. Please help
FFXV is one of my favourite games and I have played the heck out of it already - but it's been a few years and due to other stresses in my life, I really want to go back to something familiar and chill.
But I've already played through the game three times - once normally / blind, once capped at level 15 and once capped at level 1 with some additional restrictions (no DLC weapons, no healing items, no spending gil on anything other than food, fuel and hotels).
I don't need this play through to be HARDER... although some challenge would be nice, I don't want to do something punishing like a no ascension grid or level 1 no food no potions etc., - I just want it to feel DIFFERENT.
Any ideas? I thought about playing as the other Bros whenever possible, or focusing on the weapon types on Noct I haven't used much (shields, guns, and machinery, mostly).
What do you guys think?
Honestly, I've never been so tense in my chair as that moment, I wanted it to end SO MUCH, I couldn't stop freaking out lmao
Hey all.
I recently bought the FFXV Royal Edition for PS4 and started playing it, really lovin it so far.
Sometimes due to IRL reasons I have to pause the game at any moment and maybe leave for 15 or 20 min. The thing that bugs me is that the playing time counter keeps rolling when paused, so in the end it will mess up my stat, it's dumb, I know, but it bugs me.
I also know I can just save, go to main screen and that's it, but sometimes I'm in the middle of a fight and can't finish it.
Supposedly, Weskham Armaugh was like Regis' Ignis. Fellow nobleman, longtime friend, steward to the prince, stategist, excellent chef.
But Wes got badly wounded during their journey. So... they left him behind.
Wes remained in that foreign city for the rest of his life. He returned home once, to congratulate Regis when Noctis was born, then returned to Altissa and never saw him again.
And even though he supposedly went on a similar journey with Cid and Clarus as Ignis did with Prompto and Gladio, he never even mentions Clarus' death when he speaks about Regis', and Cid doesn't even bother going to see him when the group goes to Altissa. Hell, Cid can't even remember what his restaurant is called!
I've complained bitterly about the portrayal of Prompto, Ignis, and Gladio's relationship in chapter 14 of the game. But holy crap, at least we are still told that they sometimes work together! And Prompto and Gladio's lines imply that they have eaten his cusine after he mastered it again. I can't imagine a scenario where they just flatout ditch Ignis utterly and completely like that.
Weskham's situation is like "what if the group had abandoned Ignis after Ignis was blinded?" But Noctis, Prompto and Gladio didn't. Closest they came to it was Gladio saying that he thought it was a bad idea for a blind man to go to war, but he quickly accepted Ignis' decision when Ignis said he wanted to do it.
How about Prompto?
Prompto is clearly to Noctis what Cid was to Regis.
Except that Regis and Cid's bond was set on fire when Regis chose to continue his father's policy of turning away desperate refugees.
What happens when it turns out that Prompto is a desperate refugee?
Noctis: let's tear down the walls, and build a nation that accepts everyone!
Now, when it comes to Clarus/Gladio and Regis/Noctis, it seems like Regis and Clarus had the strongest bond. After all, Clarus faithfully supported every single decision Regis ever took, while Gladio gave Noctis one hell of a hard time.
...Except that Clarus supported even Regis' dumbest decisions (such as, say, planning for the treaty to be signed like 200 feet from the crystal, making it ridiculously easy to steal it). While Gladio's (admittedly overly brusque to the point of hostility) pushing drove Noctis to make good ones (such as staying close to a newly blinded Ignis, and not letting the pain over Luna's death keep him from focusing on saving Prompto).
There is something else too. Though, take this one with a grain of salt, because I've been unable to find the source.
Now, I may be remembering wrong here, because I've been trying to find that commentary again for a hour and couldn't find it anywhere. But I could swear that I once saw a Developer's Commentary on Ignis' episode of the Brotherhood anime, where they say that the reason Ignis drives back and forth between the Citadel and Noctis' apartment, instead of just living at the apartment with Noctis, is that class difference prevents them from living together.
"Class difference." Are they out of their mind? Could you, in a million years, picture Noctis telling any of his three bros "sorry, you can't sleep in the same room/tent as me, I'm the prince you know." The hell was Regis smoking?
So, conclusions. Noctis, even at 20, was far more mature than his father, and that allowed him to cultivate far healthier bonds.
I remember there was a working Aranea glitch after they patched it but that was a few years ago and now I can't find it anywhere :'''''D
Does anyone know any glitch where you get her to stay in your party?
The last glitch I knew still worked was one that you did something somewhere near the Ravatoghan Trail. For console at least.
I just want to do the menace dungeons with her because that would be rad.
I love this type! It hits hard, has great defense and area damage... and it's also very stylish.
In my opinion, in order from my favorite to my least favorite:
Shield: I think this is a surprise, but I simply love shields in the game.. I've always been prejudiced against them.. but after giving them a chance I fell in love.. advantages: strong attacks with moderate speed, using the analog stick back and attacking releases a shield-throwing attack that deals large damage in a moderate area, it's very useful and super satisfying. By pausing your attack, you will perform a finishing combo that has a high chance of leaving the enemy stunned, apart from that, the fact that it reduces the defense cost to 3 is pretty cool.
One-handed sword: There's not much to comment on, great variety of movement and useful directional attacks like putting the analog stick forward, not to mention the aerial versatility.
Two-handed sword:slow, but very useful if used with the analog stick forward, or pausing your combo and subsequently attacking to perform a spinning attack with a large area of effect.
Daggers:Great DPS and mobility, although its short distance is a headache, it is by far the best option for quickly attacking a target and with some very unique attacks such as the quick step with the analog stick towards the sides, or the throw with the analog stick backwards.
Anyone knows how final fantasy 15 realistic- anime type character style called?
I got an interesting Amazon rec: a novel with Tifa and Aerith.
So this got me thinking. Since Square is publishing a lot of these (just FFVII has got Traces of two pasts, On the way to a smile, The kids are alright; FFXV, FFX and XIII also have novels), is there any chance they might publish more stories in the XV universe?
I'm specifically hoping for stories set during the Long Night. That's ten years of Gladio, Prompo and Ignis dealing with the Apocalypse. Gladio has become Captain of the crownsguards (and his sister is the Slayer! Iris surely lived interesting adventures too!), Ignis went Tomb Raiding, Prompto is a Niff in the middle of a Gralea refugee crisis. You can't tell me there isn't a ton of potential there.
And YES, I want them to address the relationship between Prompto, Ignis and Gladio.
In the game timeline, we are told that they stopped hanging out together, which left me extremely bitter and salty. However, in the DOTF timeline, we are told that they are still very close.
If we combine the two (since the events are different, but the characters and their feelings are the same), we could have a situation where the three of them still love each other very much, but the circumstances of the Long Night forced them apart.
Well, I want to see those circumstances. Show me a story where the overwhelming needs of a fleeing population of starving refugees, on top of the need to train for Noctis' return, is driving the three heroes to face new and demanding challenges. But when some Big Issue pops up, they rush to each other's side.
And bring in Iris, Aranea and Solaria too. Even people who hate DOTF still generally like Episode Aranea, so there is no reason not to include that one with the game's timeline. You can't tell me it wouldn't be adorable to see Aranea's daughter call Prompto "Uncle Prom."
Three heroes (one of whom bears the signs of being from the enemy country), a girl seeking to prove herself as the youngest child of the family of Shields, an ex-enemy officer and the daughter of the enemy emperor.
Ardyn, too. Waiting in the heart of the city he helped build.
Ten years of Apocalypse, of refugee crisis, of desperate searches for supplies and light sources, of training against impossible odds in preparation for worse odds.
There is A LOT of potential for stories there.
Yes, it's been 8 years. So what. Dawn Of The Future was published 4 years after the game came out, and it sold very well. People would absolutely buy new stories with older FF games.
