I believe in the future of agriculture, with a faith born not of words but of deeds - achievements won by the present and past generations of agriculturists; in the promise of better days through better ways, even as the better things we now enjoy have come to us from the struggles of former years.
I believe that to live and work on a good farm, or to be engaged in other agricultural pursuits, is pleasant as well as challenging; for I know the joys and discomforts of agricultural life and hold an inborn fondness for those associations which, even in hours of discouragement, I cannot deny.
I believe in leadership from ourselves and respect from others. I believe in my own ability to work efficiently and think clearly, with such knowledge and skill as I can secure, and in the ability of progressive agriculturists to serve our own and the public interest in producing and marketing the product of our toil.
I believe in less dependence on begging and more power in bargaining; in the life abundant and enough honest wealth to help make it so--for others as well as myself; in less need for charity and more of it when needed; in being happy myself and playing square with those whose happiness depends upon me.
I believe that American agriculture can and will hold true to the best traditions of our national life and that I can exert an influence in my home and community which will stand solid for my part in that inspiring task.

I am in kentucky and always thought about FFA, i have never seen any flyers or anyone from the FFA where i live tho, probably because i live so far north in kentucky on the border of cincinnati, could anyone have advice on how to join?
Howdy, y’all! I’m doing both poultry production and vet science proficiency, so I wanted to know the recommended hours for each? I have a bunch (1000+, long story) of hours I can go back and enter so I’m not short on hours, I’m just curious.
I just had my first CDE event for floriculture, which is the first think I’m doing in FFA and I’ve been trying to check my score on judgescard.com and it’s not showing up. I think I might’ve gotten disqualified for leaving without knowing I needed to turn in my scantron then going in and turning it in.
(For context I am a girl and will be wearing a skirt and nylons, I cant wear slacks)
Hello! I am going to attend a leadership conference for my region this Monday into Tuesday where official dress will be required for quite a bit of it. My only concern is that I have a tie on string anklet that i couldn't take off unless i cut it off and a really dont want to do that. Would it be okay to leave it on and just have the nylons go over it. Its also somewhat bulky as it has those letter beads on it. Any help is appreciated.
So, long story short...
I was at National convention, and it was friday (the 25th of october). it was sometime between when I left the expo hall and went to the circle center mall to get lunch. I didn't notice i lost it until after we got back to the hotel.
Can I get a replacement for it?
MY AG TEACHER JUST ACCEPTED ME AS TREASURER FOR CDES AND I AM SO EXCITED AND NERVOUS BUT ALSO KINDA PISSED BC I ALREADY HAVE SECRETARY AND SETNEIL MEMORIZED BUT IM DOING CONDUCT OF CHAPTER MEETINGS!!!
So ive recently just attended ground zero here in Illinois and this year im planning on attending both state, and national conventions. Aswell as some other events my school hosts that require official dress. My current jacket I find is a bit big in some areas and small in other areas (Im 5'11, broad shoulders, and long arms). Im wanting to get a tailored jacket so I can make sure I have the best looking and feeling jacket I can get but im not sure where to get my measurements, has anybody gotten a tailored jacket before and where have you went for your measurements?
I would like to get more involved with the FFA to develop my leadership skills. Where should I start? My original reason for joining the FFA was to get into shop class, but I feel like I’m missing out on many opportunities by just being enlisted in shop. I don’t know the FFA creed, and I don’t even know where to begin. I’ve also considered showing, but I have no prior experience with animals. I feel somewhat left out, as my family isn’t familiar with that lifestyle and I wasn’t raised around it.
Thank you for any input or advice. I’m a bit stuck here.
I 16(F) plan to do a hog my junior year. Only issue is that last year I lost $600 since I was unaware of whom to go to in regards for donations. This year I plan to figure that out so I am able to make profit this year. Any help is appreciated and acknowledged. Does anyone know who I should go to? (I live in the 559 area)
P.S I have done a buyer letter just that I wasn’t sure who to go to
So I am currently a junior studying regular secondary education with history but really want to teach agriculture. Long story short, I live in NYC and could not attend an agriculture school due to family issues, and there aren't any AG uni's in the city. I went to an agriculture-centered high school and was very active in the FFA. Now I want to teach AG and become a FFA advisor. Is it possible to get an agriculture master's degree without a bachelor’s degree? to be able to teach AG in high schools?
Hi, I was an FFA member who graduated in 2023, and I’m wondering what the American Degree requirements are. I was really involved my chapter being a section officer for one year and a chapter officer for 2. I’ve had a two internships that are both paid and unpaid. What are some other things I made need to pursue in order to earn it.
So I am planning to compete in extemporaneous speaking in a month. Any tips or tricks? Research and writing and speaking doesn’t bother me too much.
Just started a new cde team - milk quality and products...any info would be helpful!!
Okay so I bought these heels last year for FFA, but I saw somewhere that you couldn’t wear this style of heel for competition. I wore them to substates and no one said anything. I mean they’re closed toe and heel, and I don’t think they look ridiculous. But I have no clue, so let me know your thoughts.
So right now I have to make the decision between showing a lamb or a rabbit. I do have the land for both. I own a rabbit but we’re not sure of her dob. So for either I would probably have to purchase a new animal. This is my first year in ffa/showing (I’m a junior). I like both animals and know nothing about either. I’m aware that a lamb will be more money overall but I have funding from the school I go to so that’s honestly not too much of an issue.
In all honesty this is really stressful because I’m trying to make this decision based on just about 0, or less than. So yeah, any advice is nice.
So I graduated high school a few years ago, I was a member for 6 years. My grandfather was a member when he was in school, would it be okay to wear my jacket (that is in my closet) to his memorial? I’m not sure if this is frowned upon and I know only current members can purchase them. I was a chapter officer my junior year. I’d like to honor him by wearing his pin if it’s okay to wear the jacket and/or pin?
Would like to add that we were both part of Texas FFA.
I'm trying to find corduroy for a personal project and FFA jackets seem to age well and hold up fine. I own one, because I'm a member and I like the fabric a lot.
So, title starts it, but I just joined FFA and im in my junior year. Its already joining that late, but Im joining halfway through the year. What can I do with the time I have left? I plan to do showing at the end of this school year (summer fairs) but do I really have the time to do much else? My chapter is fairly small so we dont have big activities going on 24/7, only once in a while.
