I believe in the future of agriculture, with a faith born not of words but of deeds - achievements won by the present and past generations of agriculturists; in the promise of better days through better ways, even as the better things we now enjoy have come to us from the struggles of former years.
I believe that to live and work on a good farm, or to be engaged in other agricultural pursuits, is pleasant as well as challenging; for I know the joys and discomforts of agricultural life and hold an inborn fondness for those associations which, even in hours of discouragement, I cannot deny.
I believe in leadership from ourselves and respect from others. I believe in my own ability to work efficiently and think clearly, with such knowledge and skill as I can secure, and in the ability of progressive agriculturists to serve our own and the public interest in producing and marketing the product of our toil.
I believe in less dependence on begging and more power in bargaining; in the life abundant and enough honest wealth to help make it so--for others as well as myself; in less need for charity and more of it when needed; in being happy myself and playing square with those whose happiness depends upon me.
I believe that American agriculture can and will hold true to the best traditions of our national life and that I can exert an influence in my home and community which will stand solid for my part in that inspiring task.

I get my broilers on December 20th I'm planning on using dog pee pads while they are in the house I've found it is cleaner and easier to clean than shavings. What do you think?
I am wanting some ideas for studying weeds for our section Agronomy CDE (Illinois). We usually use a mix of quizlet and Google slides, but are hitting a roadblock when actually competing. I find it super hard to ID the weeds when they are pressed (flat). Maybe our section just does it weirdly, but I'm looking for everyone else's study methods. Thanks! (P.S I excessively yap so sorry in advance.)
I wasn't able to go because I'm not an officer, and he is one of my favorite artists
My FFA has five officers, four of us are seniors and the fifth is a junior, so if we don't get new and younger members we're kinda screwed. Covid killed our FFA and were still trying to get back on our feet, our student events usually have a turn out between 80 and 200, yet no one is joining, we're trying to do more stuff to get people to join but nobody is. We're going to try to do bi weekly events, but with only five people planning is difficult.
At the start I was so excited to be on my chapters officer team. My school has a very small FFA chapter so anyone who applies pretty much gets in. All my fellow officers on my team this year gossip about each other all the time and are passive aggressive. No one really likes each other and my advisor somewhat try’s to team build but no one ever shows up.
I got pneumonia in both my lungs for a bit and was made fun of and mocked by my fellow officers. They were mad at me for being sick and when I finally got back after being in the hospital they literally threw papers in my arms and ignored me the whole meeting other then to make passive aggressive comments. Mind the fact I had been in open communication with my advisor the whole time I was ill and she was understanding. When I explained to my fellow officers about my asthma (developed because of pneumonia and SCT) I was interrogated about it (only to find out that girl had asthma too). Turned out she (the officer I was talking to) didn’t believe me because she didn’t believe the part that I had SCT because I’m white.
The seniors keep asking me if I’ll go for president but to be honest I want nothing to do with FFA after the year. It’s too toxic and I get that most of the people who are the problems will be graduating this year but I’ve had so many nights stressed.
Sorry for any mistakes I’m so stressed.
Hi I just received my American Degree yesterday and I am now retiring my jacket but I still want to see my American degree key is it ok to add it to a keychain? Or any other ideas I could do with it to see it often

Is it okay for me, my brother, and my father to take a group picture in our jackets? My father is of course not in high school and my brother graduated recently, and I'm not sure if it's the respectful or right thing to do.
Hey! I want to know how yall enjoyed the convention if u were there. there was so many people but it was so fun. so lmk who you are, where your from and how much you liked or didnt like it
My chapter is leaving today, and I figured some of yall are too, so I wanna ask what your favorite part of convention was, if you went this year.
Mine was either Temple Grandin's speech and Carter's retiring address, or walking through the main expo hall, reading your badges, and talking to random people like I've known them for years.
Hello! I am an older and influential member within my FFA chapter, we tend to not have much to do! I am trying to find activities that are inexpensive and engaging for my high school chapter for the 2025 convention. We’ve done skyjump, ate, shopped and all general FFA activities. Advice needed
I've been working on cleaning my FFA's office last year bleeding into this year, but don't know how to clean the statues without damaging them. It seems someone from years passed even spilled something on some of them and despite it being there since before covid it still looks wet and sticky. If anyone knows how to clean them without damaging them or stripping the paint I would greatly appreciate it. (Neither myself nor my advisor could find the proper name for them if anyone knows it I'd greatly appreciate it.)
I'm very new to FFA and tomorrow will be my first CDE (floriculture). I have never had to dress formal in my life, at least not since I was very young. I do have some black slacks from a wedding and a white collared shirt I got from my brother a few years ago, but I don't have dress shoes nor do I have cowboy boots. I was able to get ahold of some dress shoes that barely fit me without socks, and I assume I need to wear black socks as without them you can see the top of my foot. I'm not sure what I should do about this and I would love some advice.
