Executive protection (EP), A.K.A close protection refers to risk mitigation measures taken to ensure the safety of individuals who may be exposed to elevated personal risk.
We discuss the state of the EP field, new technology and tactics, as well as lifestyle and protection of loved ones.
All discussion related to EP and it’s associated subjects are welcome, but discussion about specific clients and their security details is prohibited.

I just moved to NoVa and seeing if anyone has any gigs that need help on.
Currently looking at EP as a carrier path. I ( M 40) have been a security guard for 3 years and am enjoying the field but want something less warm body and high paying. I've already looked into ESI as a school and that's my current plan of approach. I will however not be able to do the school until late 2025 at the earliest.
I'm looking to see if there's any work I can get into in the meantime to help me begin my social network and buffer my resume. I live by Albany NY and have my state CCP and guard card. Working on armed card next as a progression in my security profession. Only mil experience I have is Army basic training.
I live in Nebraska and I am interested in going to an EP school. Which EP school in the US is the best?
Any suggestions for formal and business casual looking shoes that don’t wreck your back and knees standing all day? Or insert suggestions?
Thanks for any suggestions.
Now that NC finally offers an EP certification that doesn’t require being a PI, does anyone know of schools near the coast or some sort of hybrid option?
I’ve seen schools as close as Raleigh, but nothing closer to the ILM area. I’m just trying to avoid 5 nights in a hotel (and the additional cost) if I can help it.
Thanks in advance.
People are calling for heads to roll in the assassination attempt of Former President Donald Trump over the failed assassination attenpt where one man was killed (Corey Comperatore) and three others were wounded by gunfire, including Donald Trump.
Despite the fact that someone in the agency deopped the ball concerning the elevated rooftops which gave the assassin the advantage to carry out his mission, there were a lot of things the agency got right. This video highlights those positives.
FBI has identified twenty year old Thomas Matthew Crooks as the person who attempted to take the life of former President Donald Trump.
Trump was mid speech in Butler, Pennsylvania when shots rang out from a roof top some 130 yards away. The first striking Trump in his right ear. The subsequent shots hit innocent bystanders , killing one and wounding another.
Secret Service responded quickly to shield and evacuate the former president. A Secret Service sniper perched on a nearby building was able to neutralize the assassin.
Watch the video until the end. You will learn a lot about this incident and how Secret Service agents in action operate to protect their principals.

Hello, I’m currently active Mil, with 11 months left on contract, and am considering the EP field. I’m stationed SD CA, and have plans to go to Pacific West Academy, using my GI Bill to attend. I wanted some basic info about the EP field, the dos and don’ts, info about training locations, and any good tips I can get. Any info is welcome for sure, thanks in advance.
I recently joined a private security company that does both uniform security and executive protection. I have done uniformed security for the last 7 years, my experience includes 3 corporate posts, event security, public saftey department for a hospital, cash transport, vault security as well as a mobile patrol that included driving vip personnel. I have a decent foundation of soft skills. I'm trying to find training courses that will get me certified with some hard skills. Obviously there are the fire arm and combat certifications. I'm looking for things often overlooked and neglected to stand out from the other applicants. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
This man is a legend, and the other videos he does for Wilson Combat are fantastic as well.
