Groovy.
For years, reddit has existed without a home for Sam Raimi's classic franchise, Evil Dead. Come in here, and give Bruce some sugar.
It's a trick - get an axe.

Starz has been in a strong decline in subscribers
now I want to know will it revert back if Starz the company shuts down? Would be cool to have it be referenced in future evil dead media without looking back at Starz for permission
I wish they added more interesting villains that came from hell.... possessed objects and humans were cool, but Baal, Demon spawns and Eligos were cool that made me ask whats more down in hell the book could summon? I just wished they added more interesting villains that Ash has to contend with
instead of rehashing possessed characters or civilians which I get is the staple of the series, but if they really wanted to spice things up, and they were also bringing up demons that came from hell... I wish they added variety villains Ash and the gang had to think of on how to beat and such... I just thought of Sam Raimi or his teams creativity with Eligos and wanted more demons...
been waiting for this for so long, saw the poster at the desk at a clothing shop and lost my mind hahaha, and so close to the date too! getting tickets asap 😍

This is now my hand…. Life will be a lot more difficult, but I’ll figure it out.

Anyone else have mixed feelings about the future of Evil Dead? Don't get me wrong, I think that all 5 movies and the series had a high standard of quality and with Raimi, Tapert and Campbell the franchise is in good hands, but there are some things that make me question the direction of the future films.
I'm not sure which of the two future films this applies to, but for one of the two films the director said he wanted to pay tribute to the original, and I'm like, why? As if the 2013 movie and Rise didn't already do that. To me it looks like any future Evil Dead movie will just be a slightly different version of the 2013 film. Rise didn't add much new to the franchise either, but I thought it was okay since we haven't had an Evil Dead film in 10 years and before that we only got 4 movies.
But if every new movie just pays tribute to the old films, then I think it would be a shame because the franchise has more potential than that. The original trilogy and the series were much more experimental with different genres and also liked to expand the mythology.
I also think that later films should be more creative with the premise. After Army of Darkness it was just about a group of people finding the book and then summoning the Kandarian demon. I would just think it would be cool if the future movies explored other demons and dangers of the book more and maybe also explored other time periods and places.
I'm also not a fan of all films being connected to each other. Rise has introduced that there are three books, the one from the original trilogy, the one from the 2013 film and the one from Rise. Aside from the fact that the original trilogy was completely different in tone, that would just create another plot hole.
Ruby wrote one of the books and looked for it later in the series, and you're telling me that she didn't find any of the three books before the show, but also never mentioned that there were three books in the first place?
If they skipped everything with Ash and introduced a different third book in one of the new movies that would be fine, but everything with Ash should remain its own thing.
What are your thoughts about future Evil Dead movies?
I’ve heard people say he acts really dumb in the show. But when I was watching the season 2 finale something came to mind. He calls out the whole town of Elk Grove for acting exactly like he predicted in a rare serious moment. And then he goes back to his carefree self. I think his personality in the show is entirely a mask he wears to seem cool over how bad his life really is. And he only lets it slip in rare moments like that
