Unjust Accusations and Lack of Due Process by Dracarys and Goonswarm

Subject: Unjust Accusations and Lack of Due Process

To whom it may concern,

We are reaching out regarding a deeply concerning issue involving player Telykin, who has leveraged an old conflict from years ago with a former corporation to fabricate a harassment narrative against us within INIT. He has presented so-called "evidence" in the form of Discord screenshots, yet these images provide no way to actually identify us as the alleged harassers.

In an effort to clarify the situation and defend ourselves, we attempted to obtain these so-called proofs through the high command of Dracarys and Goonswarm. Unfortunately, our request was completely ignored. Instead of receiving a fair review, we were met with a blunt and dismissive response:
"You are the harassers, period."

No opportunity to explain, no chance to defend ourselves—just a verdict handed down without any due process.

We are a small group of roughly ten players, spanning both Europe and Canada. It is utterly disappointing and disheartening to see such a cheap shot from an organization that should live up to its reputation and the power it wields. The lack of fairness and professionalism in handling this matter is deeply frustrating and disillusioning.

That being said, we walk away with our heads held high, knowing that we did nothing wrong. Meanwhile, they have allowed themselves to be manipulated.

Stories of a Nomad: Ammunition is expensive, and the empires don't care.

TLDR: Ships still be expensive yo, ~500 mil for a Hyperion that I won't ever pull out until home defense happense because ~500 mil for a big bullet is like shooting platinum tipped, gold bullets out of a solid gold Deagle.

When it comes to macro-economics, I don't know a damn thing about it outside of buy the dip and be a diamond hands chad. What I do know, however, is how long it took me to get the ISK for said platinum tipped bullet; 3 hours.

The question now becomes, what is worth risking 3 hours of my time spent grinding to shoot this bullet at?

A random loki that poked his head into my home hole from downchain? Could have an entire blob behind him waiting to find something juicy like a lone hyperion, or even one that doesn't have the proper support behind it.

What about a small gang of T3Ds? While i could certainly tank them for a time, if I'm on my own, my battleship guns won't track them well enough to actually put up a fight, and I've functionally turned myself into a sitting target and a nice killmail.

I follow the doctrines that friendship is the best ship, and ships are ammunition, but neither of those creeds changes the fact that I've spent my time acquiring said ship, and if I don't feel like the time spent was worth the ammunition being used, then why would I waste ammunition like that?

If I wanted to fight a potentially lone loki, I would have much better success in something cheaper like a stratios; even if it is a losing fight for the strat, it would still be much more fun and much less costly, even if I do get blobed.

A HAC would be much more suited to take on a small gang of T3Ds, and still significantly less expensive than a Hyperion. Even if I only take a few down with me before I get blown up, it's a much more fun experience than just sitting like a duck waiting to be slowly gnawed away.

Gone are the days when any joe shmoe could grab a typhoon and die in a glorious fireball with ease, because unfortunately those days were closely tied to abundance and the wretched fields of rorqs that plagued null-sec *sarcasm intensifies*.

Nowadays, as the filthy grass touching casual that I am, I feel somewhat, even if indirectly, forced to be relegated to cheaper rolls like scouting and interdicting. This feeling of risk aversion isn't fun, and I hope it changes soon. I want nothing more than to grab a cheap-ish T1 BS and lead the charge for everyone to come die with me; because getting blown up is much more fun then sitting around waiting for something interesting to happen.

The Pacifier Should Get Some of the Sidewinder's Non-Combat Bonuses (with Graphs!)

TL;DR: Pacifier unremarkable despite cost, recommend +cargo, +scan str, maybe even +mid?

The Pacifier is in a strange spot right now. For combat, the Astero and stealth bombers (depending on the size of your target) are cheaper and more effective. Frigate PvP is not my area of expertise and I will be focusing on exploration in this post, but if you're interested in the issues with a hunting pacifier, check out Ashy's 2021 writeup. For exploration, the T2 covops frigates are a little worse, but for a 93% cost reduction, it's easy to live with the compromises. Most Pacifier pilots fly it not because it's really worth the cost, but because they've run out of other places to spend money in their fit (my biased self included). The recent addition of the Sidewinder has really thrown the Pacifier's shortcomings into sharp relief and demonstrated what a truly advanced covert ops frigate looks like. Obviously, no recruitment reward should be matching the power of an AT ship, but there's room to buff the Pacifier without causing balance issues.

The T2 explorations frigates are extremely well-balanced as a class. Each ship has its advantages and none reigns supreme as the obvious generalist choice. The Buzzard is often hailed as the best scanner because of its 5 mids and deviation bonus, but it's powered by a potato battery, demanding fitting sacrifices elsewhere. Despite its cost, the Pacifier is more of a fifth option than a straight upgrade to the 4 racial options.

For exploration, the Pacifier's only significant advantages over the racial options are its warp speed and power grid. The warp speed seems useful for the warp-heavy exploration playstyle, but since deceleration caps at 6AU/s, the Pacifier only saves five seconds vs a T2 covops on a 100AU warp (bonus graph in case you don't believe me). The power grid is very convenient for fitting an MSE, but the other frigs can easily carry a MAPC refit around, and they have 25-50m3 of extra cargo to do so.

Let's examine the Pacifier's traits, then the Sidewinder's, and see what could be transferred without diminishing the uniqueness of the AT frigate or kicking off a Pacifier-based Reign of Terror:

Attribute: (Pacifier | Sidewinder):

  • Cargo: (150 | 200m3) - Definitely deserves an increase. The full 200 would tie the Cheetah for the highest covops cargo, but at least 175m3 would be appreciated. A mobile depot bay is also an option. Explo ships tend to embark with at least 70m3 already occupied by refit equipment, filaments, and probes, so this 25% total capacity loss is more like a 40% usable loot space difference.
  • Shield Explosive Resist: (33 | 47%) - The most relevant tank stat for these ships due to ghost sites. These are two of the worst ships in the game for tanking the can explosion, but flat resists is part of the CONCORD ship identity. A weakness for sure, but better solved by the next point.
  • Mid Slots (4 | 5) - This one I'm conflicted on. An extra mid would make the Pacifier much better for exploration by adding space for a scan array, sensor booster, or explosive hardener, but might make the ship too dangerous as a hunter. Given that it already has space for just about everything a hunter could want, though, I'm not sure it would be that big of a change. I guess prop/web/scram/point/point is now possible for holding down hulls with warp core bonuses? Then again, the Helios exists. All of you blops droppers can weigh in on this one, I'm out of my depth.
  • Scan Strength (50 | 75%) - Do it. I doubt anyone is going to get buyer's remorse on their 200B Sidewinder over this one. Scan strength has such dramatic diminishing returns past ~130 anyways that I don't see this being a balance issue. Maybe a HG Virtue + AR-810 + Satori-Horigu Pacifier would become capable of probing a previously-unfindable full officer ECCM sebo supercarrier or something, but I refuse to believe that situations like that come up with any frequency.
  • Cloak Recal Time (5 | 0s) - Absolutely the hell not. Hopefully I don't even need to explain why this would go down in the bad patch notes hall of fame.
  • Warp Speed (12 | 14AU/s) - Meh? I'm not opposed to it, but here's that graph from earlier with the Sidewinder added on to illustrate how little I care. It's probably best to leave it at 12AU/s.
  • Base Align Time (6.99 | 6.21s) - A buff down to ~6.7 could be nice, but realistically you're going to be spending whatever it costs on implants to get this thing under 3s anyways and you're not exactly short on low slots given the strong base PWG and capacitor. All this would really accomplish for most people is swapping an istab for a nano.

I don't think all of these attributes should be changed, but 1-3 of them getting a boost could help elevate the Pacifier from 'option' to 'upgrade' like its price suggests it should be. Adding analyzer strength equal to security status rounded down (i.e. +0-5) would immediately launch this thing to #1 explo ship, but that's a stat that's only available in like two other places, so I doubt it's on the table. Perhaps security status-scaling coherence could work?

Do you fly the Pacifier? If so, why and for what content? If not, what would make you consider it? If you're more experienced in PvP than I am, what do you foresee the ramifications of these changes looking like?

Question about deadspace pockets and combat probes

When you scan down a ship in an ungated deadspace pocket (e.g. Besieged Covert Research Facility), are you then able to warp directly on top of the ship or only to the site's beacon? I'm asking because this game has some inconsistent behavior when it comes to deadspace sites, where you can warp at range to them (sometimes only using a fleet trick) but cannot warp within them or use a cyno.

SKINR Requests I'd love to see implemented

Hey CCP, here are some SKINR requests that would be amazing to see added!

features:

  • transaction history log
  • when listing a skin for sale, show the PLEX it cost to run a copy so I know how to price it!
  • ability to only use a part of a pattern, or to make a pattern "repeat"
  • ability to change thruster colors would be SO COOL
  • for corp/alliance skins: ability for a corp to purchase a single copy of a skin (perhaps at a higher up front cost to run?) that allows all members of the corp/alliance to use the skin as long as they are in the corp/alliance (it is disgustingly, prohibitively expensive to be able to deck out a fleet in matching skins, especially when most toons would need at least a few different ship skins)

patterns:

  • half opacity full coverage pattern (please make this unlimited)
  • quarter opacity full coverage pattern (please make this unlimited)
  • graffiti-looking pattern
  • tree or leaf motif
  • sun motif
  • galaxy motif
  • "night sky" motif/constellations
  • animal motifs (tigers, lizards, birds, cats, fish, all kinds)
  • potentially a 3rd pattern slot to do more with color fades and inverted overlapping etc

colors:

  • metallic copper
  • metallic bronze
  • dark forest green/wider range of greens in general
  • more iridescents!!

I love SKINR and I'm having so much fun designing skins for my corpmates and my own toons. but please, i beg you, at the absolute minimum - please give us a transaction history so I can see what sold

Anyone knows if and when we can expect DLSS / FSR 2+ support in EVE Online?

See title. EVE online only has FSR1 (plus a terribly grained ‘detail / contrast filter’ you cannot turn off on highest settings..

DLSS / FSR 2+ Would seem like a relatively easy to implement but nice feature?

Edencom & Trig ships

So what's the use case for these? Particularly the battleships and capitals?

These are new to me and i'm trying to figure out what to use them for, if anything. They look super cool, me and my former space amigo's used to muse what it'd be like to troll around eve space with sleeper ships as our rides, these seem to be that but I can't fathom what to do with them yet. I'm not able to log into the test server to find out.

The PushX state of Hauler ganking report (January 2025)

The new year has come and gone and after our big and well received Hauling Stats for 2024 post, we are back to regular business! I know you've been waiting eagerly, so enjoy even more graphs and more numbers brought to you by New Eden's Premium Hauling Service!

(All data is based on publicly posted killmails on zkill, which is by its nature incomplete - killmails need to be actively posted there to reflect in the data, and other ganking activity like ejecting JF pilots does not show)

https://preview.redd.it/wvubwxjv3yge1.jpg?width=700&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dbc39ce2cb54472c88c4d09961ca49e827a49867

We can see a very slight uptick in Freighter ganking compared to November (97 vs. November's 94). Jump Freighters have been catching a break in Highsec (7 vs. November's 12), but their kills have shifted slightly to Lowsec (38 vs. November's 32). Both BR and DST pilots have been more careful and only 175 vs. November's 317 BRs, as well as 297 vs. November's 326 have been blown up in Highsec.

How are the different Empires doing? And what about you? Is your favorite Freighter among the most killed? Let us know!

All is well that ends well and so we have a new fun tidbit of data for you - ISK lost in ganks! These are sell value estimates from Jita of the total cargo destroyed and dropped (not including the hull). What do you make of this?

We at PushX hope you've all had a wonderful start in 2025.

What would you do with 1.5 billion ISK to start?

I'm a new player. I bought PLEX and then used that to buy 1.5 billion ISK. I know it's not a lot, but I'm wondering what you would do with it if you were starting over. How would you use this to give yourself a good head start knowing what you know now?

If it helps, I'm into FW at the moment, but would love to get into mining and building.

Eve Settings on Linux / Steam?

Hey guys, I'm running Eve on Linux via Steam and everytime I'm multiboxing I notice some lags and weird client behavior. For example: I'm playing on client A while client B is in the background (both window mode). As I tab to client B after a minute or so, it tries to catch up every animation from that minute immediately, lagging profusely.

After it caught up, it's all fine. The same happens when I jump through a gate and especially when I dock a character while having that specific client in the background. Docking can take minutes unless I move that client to the foreground again.

Are there any settings I could tweak in order to optimize performance and/or get rid of that behavior?

I'd be grateful for any linux-related performance tips regarding eve.

Are people talking politics in your corps?

I am only playing for 5 weeks now. I found a one/two man corp and have been in their discord for some hours. I noticed they are very political and like to talk about politics a lot. In my 47 years I learned that you never talk about religion and politics at parties. It will just end badly.

Is the Eve community more political than other communities or is that just a random experience of mine.

I kinda wanna play the game and not argue with people if I lean left or right or wherever.

I kinda feel like leaving.

Hi Eve Newbie (Sort of) - Help me fit my Stratios!

I understand the Stratios is both -

A: not as flexible in exploration and running ratting as T3C

B: I am piloting a shiny ship that often will be targeted during my travels

However!

A: I do not have the ability to pilot a Tengu atm, which is what I am skilling towards

B: I can fully fit a stratios + mobile depot for refits in wormhole space if needed

C: will be flying with two other players who are using either T3C or battlecruisers (depending on their vibe for the night) and wouldn't run this solo much regardless.

I am planning on taking this stratios into wormhole space and getting a solid all around experience for running C2, C3 and C5 missions. (In the case of C5 missions I will have a group for that always so I am not too worried about it.)

I also dont mind engaging in pvp with other explorers etc:

Finally my previous piloting experience involved successfully navigating with an Astero in some pretty hostile environments in J-space and I have some ok experience in PVP with that ship. I have yet to lose one at least anyway.

This is all to say that I am a complete and utter newbie when it comes to fitting and pvp honestly in general, but I have relevant skills trained up. I just cannot find a reliable fit online that feels like it can take care of my needs. Literally any advice on how to fit the Stratios would be helpful

Thank you so much! Have a good day :)

Pirate FW Drew me back into EVE- and also made it hate it

Ya, i got the EVE itch again, OMEGA'd my character, and decided to commit everything into Gurista Faction Warfare. I loved the Insurgency concept: be a pirate, do pvp (and make isk!), spread chaos, cause havoc on the empire players and their space, all while avoiding the nullsec bloc fleets with the traditional FW concept of solo/small gang pvp. As a 1 account player wanting to get into pvp (again), this seemed like a great fit for me.

As it turns out, all I see in Insurgency space is Awoxer multiboxing fleets spamming the complexes. My biggest enemy are my own militia allies as I'm effectively pushed out of 95% of insurgency content. I ended up just giving up on insurgency zones and head to regular empire frontline FW space where I do manage to get some fair(ish) fights. I had some fun with that, but something hit me today where I just got fed up with my inability to actually participate in my chosen/preferred activity. I cannot shoot back against awoxers without standing hit (a penalty they seem to freely ignore) and even if my corp wardecs the offending AWOXer corps, their numbers are just too massive for the meagre amount of likeminded players like myself in solo or small corps to coordinate against. It feels like every intended spirit and mechanic of this new Insurgency content has been maliciously usurped by anti-social players (assuming they arent just bots) exploiting corp/alliance standing - and I'm utterly helpless against it.

I've had some fun with FW - meeting a couple players and trying to plex together for a bit of safety, but it seems like we are outnumbered 20:1. I understand EVE is an mmo, where things are easier with groups - but it doesn't feel right when I feel I'm effectively locked out of FW. I'm not sure even if all the non-awoxer Guristas/Angels got together we would even come close to the numbers and resources of the awoxer multibox fleet/corps. I was hoping to avoid this kind of behavior by playing FW vs. nullsec pvp.

Call me naive, but I like a sense of immersion, being a part of NPC-corp militia, finding your pseudo-teammates in space and blasting the other team was what I was after, all while piloting 1 account, 1 ship - I love EVE's massive universe of player-driven actions. I'm willing to group with others, But if EVE is a game where you have to multibox accounts to just compete in FW content, and 1 player w/ resources (Isk or $$$) can effectively act as 10, well maybe I should just go back to single player games...

AAR: STRONG, INDEPENDENT BIGAB PET VS AMARR GAMERS

Good evening Minmatar boot lickers!

It's been about 24 hours since a member of FL33T last posted a multi-page thesis with a strangely similar title that described how strong and independent their alliance is. Despite Amarr's recent lack of shitposting, Fl33T's renown as pets with delusions of grandeur continues to grow.

On Saturday, Fl33T formed to defend a astra timer that was hit earlier this week, batphoning over 70 people and their Bigab overlords to save them.

Preparation

Our strong EDICT brothers shot a structure to make a timer. EDICT and CTRLV formed a fleet of battleships to follow up. That's really it. If you want a few more paragraphs of pointless fluff that goes nowehere, go start a DM with your local CSM representative (except for Drake - Drake man good - you leave him alone).

Vard

  • Lol this was the system where the fight happened.
  • If you can use the "timeline" function on br.evetools and are indeed conscious, you can intuit that the fight involved Fl33T engaging Amarrmil navy geddons with wood tier CFIs.
  • After having their driftwood fleet comp thoroughly perforated, Fl33T did the only thing they really know how to do and lubricated the bigab boot with their tongues.
  • BIGAB then committed to grid with TFIs supported by two FAX who were also stunned initially with the realization that there are indeed dread pilots within range of Turnur that they forgot to blue.
  • Shoutout to the bigab guy who jumped in a PNI to the fight and promptly warped it off after encountering other capital ships that can fit guns.
  • BIGAB eventually recovered from this shocking realization and logged in some dreads. We fed some caps and extracted. GG

Ultimately Amarrmil lost the objective and ISK war but on the other hand, at least we actually fight our own battles instead of just RPing copium about it constantly from under the skirts of our local landlords, so at least we've got that going for us.

Battle Report

CCP provides

Blah blah blah, here's some lip service to a developer that still doesn't understand their game, the motivations of people that play it, or how to successfully develop games generally.

Remember, these kinds of mid-scale engagements are fueled by:

  • Not being a bitch
  • Saying "no" to Minmatar copium. See something? Say something.

While FL33T continue to try and make EVE Online a snoozefest of TiDi and boredom, it's nice to see Amarrmil pulling together and combating this bullshit and opening up new ways to create content.

MEMES ASIDE

  • Fantastic job by Amarrmil - it was our strongest showing for a joint stratop in a long time.
  • Shoutout to our brave pilot Night Maulerant who got to fax for the first time and experience the time honored amarrmian initiation rite of dying to a minmil batfone
  • Shoutout to Mo Bloodlust, Kanari Xadi, and others for helping organize things.

COME GAME, EVE IS PRETTY FUN RIGHT NOW. TRADING FEET PICS FOR MORE REVELATION PILOTS.

CTRLV IS RECRUITING

PS: CCP please allow lp donations to ihubs from corp wallets
