I have a 2.5 year old and we’d drive up from Pittsburgh and stay the night there. We’ve gone to kalahari and great wolf lodge and loved both. They were clean, big, the food was good and it was and fun. What’s splash lagoon like? Is it worth the drive and money?
We took a walk out on the ice. It's been years since I've done this. I'm guessing it's 5-7 inches thick. Probably about 200 feet out we heard the ice crack underneath us. It sounded like a ripping sound. Needless to say we heard enough and decided to head back in. We heard just about the same ice cracking sound about 40 feet from the first spot. Is this common for thick ice to do or was this potentially a weak area?
Any recommendations for a place that teaches kick boxing to adult noobs? I have no experience. I’m a female in my 20s. Thank you
This is my first time having a backyard and I'd love to learn to grow veggies this year (and moving forward) since I have such a vegetable-heavy diet anyway. Does anyone have recommendations on how to get started? I have a feeling there may be prep work that needs to be done when it's still cold, but I don't know where to start and would love any resources or suggestions for growing in this area/climate/soil.
Was just curious how many people remember the old movie rental stores around Erie, and if anyone had any memories they’d like to share or any stores they remember. I remember Reel Entertainment around 26th and Brown Ave and the movie stop downtown. Way back there was a Curtis Mathes near the old TOPS on 26th street.
Hey all ~
In no real surprise, Erie's favored adopted son, Oliver Hazard Perry, won favorite local historical figure (even with all the points against him being local....) with 27 points.
Strong Vincent and Ida Tarbell were a strong second and third, though, with 24 and 13, respectively.
Onto the next...
Do you have fond memories of bugging state street? Are you and your friends all about stag and drags? Are you a St. Patty's morning bar crawler? Did y'all try and catch a ghost at Axe Murder Hollow? What screams "Erie's social culture" to you?
Does anyone else think this tariff fiasco l will directly impact our local economy? We've all seen the canadian shopping busses on upper peach. That's money spent in restaurants and that means local jobs too. I am on a few Canadian subreddits and their general theme is "stop buying American when you can" and specifically mention no more shopping trips to the US. Erie county, did you just royally screw yourself?
Was driving home from work last night and a saw about 5 police cars, 3 fire engines, and a few ambulances had the entire street shut down for a couple hours.
Anyone know what happened?
Tired of the sketch ass smoke shops, smoker friendly? Dee’s? Recommendations please!
My boyfriend and I went to the mall today and noticed how dark it was inside. There is usually pretty good lighting, but the food court was so dark and all of the walkways had no lighting except for the sky lights. We went by several of the pop-up jewelry kiosks and none of the jewelry were illuminated. I drove by the mall later and realized that the parking lot lights weren’t on either? What’s going on?
is there any night dance club in Erie for weekends, crowded
Years ago at one of the craft shows I bought a few specialty spices from a local company. It was before 2020 and I can’t remember their name. I haven’t seen much around in the stores for local or small business spices. Basically no filler/sand and I just like to shop local.
Having basement floor drain flood. Got worse with garbage disposal usage. Guessing everyone will have elevated weekend fees, but who do you guys use?
I moved to Erie a year ago and hadn’t had time to take my cat to his yearly checkup in 2024. He might have an eye infection now, so I’m gonna have to take him. I have no idea what vet to take him to.. I’m willing to spend like 150 max on a regular checkup appointment.. my old vet was 50-75 for regular checkups/ vaccination appointments and a cat specialist. Hopefully I can find the same or at least a cat specialist.
Our automatic deduction from checking still hasn’t happened for our Erie Water statement due date of January 20. It’s usually done within a day or two of the due date. We haven’t changed anything as far as our Erie Water account or bank account.
Anyone in the know as to what the delay might be? It’s Saturday and we’ve just noticed the discrepancy, so asking here first before we call or write them.
Anyone have updates on that project and the humane society thief… alleged of course. I haven’t seen many if any postings or mentions, but I thought they were doing a second edition for Veterans.
Local businesses have been a majorly hot topic around here, but we’ve really been focusing on the negative.
What are some of your favorite local businesses? Could be places that are owned by good kind people, or just somewhere that does a great job at what they do.
a sad consequence of climate change: the local bud lite trees blooming out of season. they'll be skunky by summer 🥺
Was about to go there for dinner and noticed it’s strangely dark over there and it’s not open.
I can suspect some things but does anyone know what’s actually going on?
Where’s a good place to go for happy hour to meet 30somethings?
From another local city post. Which would you recommend?
