Hi Folks,
I am going to start my applciaiton for ERASMUS semester for Winter Semester 2025 from 01.Dec.24. I am looking for some generic tips or underrated tips to mention in the Letter of motivation. For context: I am an Information and Communication Engineer Master Student at one of the TU-9 University in Germany. I already know what courses I will be going to study and I know about the technical stuff I have to mention.
This is my first time experience to apply for ERAMUS semester and hence I would be gladly accepting all your recipes draft a crisp, interesting and convincing letter of motivation. My grades are not the top of the program and its only the letter of motivation which could actually provide me a little edge. I have 3 letter of recommendations (professional and academics) but my home university does not accept it as a part of application process. How can i swiftly put it in between the words in LOM.
Please dont hesitate to share your tips if you think you have opening or closing quotation or if you think something specific of your LOM has provided you some edge over your competitors. I do read all the comments positively.
im an erasmus student in Poland. My Erasmus should last a whole year, but I have the opportunity to change it to only one semester. It is not that I dont like this experience, is just that I had expectations. My friends who had done an erasmus always talk so good about it. I thought i would be a social butterfly, and everyone would be nice. But im really antisocial, the only friends I have are from my dormitory and Im not sure if they even like me that much. I dont know how to make more friends. I do not like going partying and I feel that is the only way to meet new people
The dormitories are shit, I share a room with another person, and she is gonna leave at the end of this semester, so Im gonna have to change roommate in the middle of the year.
Im having lots of problems with my boyfriend. It is a combination of the distance, my inability to mantain good contact with him while also doing things with my friends. This explodes everytime I do a trip with my friends.
What do I do? Is it worth it to stay here for a year in hopes it gets better? of should I change it?
I feel as if Im gonna repent any decision I take.
Hi, I just got declined apolication for summer semester Erasmus in Utrecht, capacity reasons. Does anyone know if I could possibly apply somewhere else last minute? Because I have the funds from my home school promised, really wanted the break from my home city, etc. I'm looking for Art Departments, I study classical painting but I'm open to other mediums, for February 2025 to June. If anyone knows of a way out of this mess, I'd be delighted.
Hello! I'm a student at Finnish university, and in January 2025, I'm coming to Vienna for the Erasmus+ Internship in an Austrian company for 5 months. I'm looking for the accommodation and I wanted to ask if I'm eligible to live in any student housing or subsidised apartments? If not, can you please suggest any websites where I can find a cheap accommodation in Vienna for my internship. Dates are roughly 13/1/2025 - 14/5/2025. Thank you!
Hi there! I am enjoying my time here so much that I really want to apply again to the same university. I love the city, the country, the people I have met.
For context, I’m a medical student so we’re allowed to do 2 years of exchange abroad (so no worries about that).
If anyone has gone through the same thing and has done it again, let me know, I have a couple of questions to ask ☺️
23M, currently a SWE.
My 1.5y of experience has been very unfulfilling and im afraid the path i chose wasnt the best.
As you may have guessed from the title, if you had the means to support urself for an Erasmus Joint Master (on a program i liked) would you do so ? Or would blowing 42-ish k (the amount estimated on avg for an erasmus master) be not worth it ?
Appreciate y’all!
Hey everyone! Hope yall are having a good time. Im not really an erasmus student but im having a similiar experience. I moved to italy two years ago and a year ago i started studying near Pavia. Im an extroverted person but i still fail to create meaningful connections with others. The language barrier is draining too since i dont know italian perfectly and i can't express myself freely. So id like to try and make some friends who know english. If there is any student who is studying in Pavia and they need a friend maybe we could meet :)
So i will go to erasmus in february in pardubice. The thing is that i heard its not so partying friendly and i considering to go to a prague dormitory. Do you know if they have dormitories for erasmus students and if they do like parties and things like that. Thank you
Hi I’m going on a year abroad next year in France and really can’t choose between these 4 places!! At home I go to uni in London so kind of miss out on being in a uni city where everyone is living close to each other etc so i would like to maybe go to somewhere like this that also has good nightlife as that’s not great in London either! Being able to live walking distance to campus would also be a plus but not a deciding factor as i know it’s not possible at all of these. But still open to everything so please let me know thoughts on any of these places, if necessary the unis would be université de strasbourg, lumière lyon 2, aix-marseille, edhec nice. I think mostly I really just want to go somewhere that will be really social and have good nightlife :)
i'm thinking of doing my erasmus in kosice but i've read some stuff about the racism there. im visibly north african and im wondering if you think i'd have trouble there
Hello everyone! This coming February I'm going for a 5 month erasmus program in Olomuc, Czech. Anyone that could give me some good tips and what to pack would be appreciated. Also does anyone have heard of the Palacky university? And what are your thoughts about this institution.
There's anyone that participate of QEM course?
Hi everyone, I need to submit my application for the Erasmus for Entrepreneurs program. For my second choice, I’m undecided between North Macedonia and Albania (Tirana).
The most important factor is the monthly budget of €1100, which cannot be exceeded. I’m also interested in understanding which country could be better in terms of entertainment, safety, and overall quality of life.
The duration of my stay will be 3 to 4 months.
Thanks in advance to everyone!
I want to apply for the RE_PLAY: EUROPEAN JOINT MASTERS IN GAMES but the website to apply for it is not working.
The problem seems to extend to all the programs that Portugal is coordinating.
Does anyone have an idea what is going on with this and what should I do?
here is the link to the program page on erasmus

Hii! I’m in between these to destinations for my Erasmus and I only have a few days left to decide. I’ll really appreciate your help and opinion on cost of living, nightlife and student life. :)
Hi,
I'm going on Erasmus and I'm thinking of renting my room in Prague to another Erasmus student. It would probably be based on a roommate agreement.
Does anyone have experience with this? Do you know of any sites that offer this directly to Erasmus students?
Thanks
Hey everyone, I am looking to do my erasmus next semester.Looking for unis in Spain .
Anybody knows if Alcala or Jaen have projects/power points to pass the subjects ? Or have been to Spain in another uni where they had this way of exams ?
Hi! I am planning to travel to France via train from Copenhagen, and I was wondering about if the train travel has to be directly from CPH to France for it to count towards an extra day for grant, or if I decide to visit a friend in Hamburg and sleep over at a friend's house, would it no longer fulfil the criteria? I would like to get the grant for one day of travel if I am travelling via train, so I'd like to make sure.
This is what is listed on my university's website, but it doesn't say anything about detours or breaks in travel for the additional day counted in the traineeship.
If you choose to travel sustainably, you will also receive a grant for one day of travel (100% of the journey must be green). If you choose to travel sustainably in both directions, you will receive a grant for two days of travel (more than 50% of the journey in each direction must them be green). These days will be added to your total traineeship period. A travel day cannot be the same day as a traineeship working day, since you cannot receive a double grant for one day.
I would appreciate any input and help :)
Hi all,
I'm currently in the process of sending out emails for internships since I really want to do one within the Erasmus program. Unfortunately, I haven't had any luck since no one is responding.
My university's mobility period starts the next academic year, so I'm pretty much asking for an internship after October 2025. Could this be seen as an issue by the professors I'm reaching out to, so they're not bothering with my request since it's so far ahead? Or do I just need to send out more emails?
I just feel like I'm doomed either way. I really want to get lab experience since it's impossible in my country but it's hard to not feel disappointed. Does anyone have any advice?
Hi guys, I will be going to Foggia next semester for my Erasmus. All the things l've heard online have been pretty bad. I wanted to ask if it really is as dangerous as they say online? And is there anyone who studied in Universita di Foggia or did their Erasmus there? If so how was your experience? Also I'm going there with no Italian and all the courses are in Italian. Is there anybody who did their Erasmus there as well with the same issue?
Hey, I’m studying pharmacy and I have the choose of either going to Montpellier(Université de Montpellier) or Lyon(Université Claude Bernard). I’m not sure which one to choose! 🇫🇷
Hey everyone. I'm a 5th year medical student in Bulgaria. My university has an agreement with the university of bordeaux that allows me to do 6 months of my graduate internship in Bordeaux. I'd very much like to apply when the time comes but since I find it difficult to stumble upon any options of people who have done their erasmus in the same university I decided to ask here. So I'd like to know generally about: the whole ordeal with the university of bordeaux- is there proper communication between the erasmus students and the faculty of medicine, do they have dormitories for us to stay, how does the internship go, is the hospital adequate, are the doctors open to foreign students, how do the exams work? Furthermore, was socialising and integrating in the uni and the city very hard, how do the French feel about us as erasmus students. Any and all information is more than welcome and I thank you all for bearing with me hahah.
Is there anyone who went on Eramsus with no travel and health insurance?
Hello everyone!
I'm currently conducting a survey about the Erasmus+ exchange programme, exploring the motivations and experiences of students who have participated or are planning to. Your input would be incredibly valuable, and I’d really appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to answer a few questions.Thank you very much in advance :))
I have submitted the LOR in document part. How my teacher will get that? I just submitted the application and when my teacgers will receive?
I have submitted in the coument section only. Was there any other option to submit that
22f, in september it was all very fun, i’d go out almost every night and meet people. i’m not really a party animal so i’d pass on the clubbing but i liked the esn evening activities (karaoke bar, movie night, pub crawl). now idk… university is harder than i expected, esn is planning less activities and i’m often unmotivated to go out and meet people. is anyone else feeling the same? someone in bcn who wants to meet?
I will go on Erasmus to Madrid, but I don't know the steps to follow to find suitable accommodation (for example, whether to first look for people to share an apartment with or to find the apartment without worrying about future roommates). Do you have any advice for me?
Hi, I’m looking for advice on where to go if my main goal with Erasmus is to discover a new culture / having a good time (relatively low academic pressure, I’ll be studying last year of Comp. Eng.).
I can’t decide if I want to go for the typical European Erasmus experience or I should try to make the most of this opportunity and go to places that I probably won’t be able to visit for an extended period of time.
I will also be receiving more money if go further away whereas, if I stay in Europe, I will be receiving about 300€ a month.
I’m from Asia and just noticed that everyone is from Europe. not sure if being European is also take into consideration?
I’ve been granted the additional Erasmus+ funding as a first-generation university student, which I’m super grateful for! However, my mother studied in another country, but her degree wasn’t officially recognized. I’m wondering if this could lead to any issues later on, even though I technically qualify as a first-generation student.
Has anyone else been in a similar situation or knows how strict they are with this? Would appreciate any insights! 🙏
