What do you think would be on an "Elliot Salad"?

Thinking about how Beverly said "I think i may have ordered one before" when the character is first introduced and I'm wondering what you'd put on your "Elliot Salad"?

For me; I'm picturing mixed greens with chopped tomato, shredded carrot, onion, uncooked ramen noodles for a crunch, Asiago, and maybe honey mustard. I know that might not sound very good but that's what I'm picturing lol

Matt's ringtone was one of the best running jokes in TV history

It was almost a character itself. The fact that it's so obnoxious and he had it for the entire series and you heard it probably multiple times in every episode. I've had it as my personal ringtone on my phone for years now haha

I dont know where else to post this

Korean show called Money Game and it VERY loosely resembles the “the box” reality show in season 5. English subtitles are quite good but make sure to raise (or lower?) the opacity to cover the korean subtitles if you are not a native speaker.

Does no streaming service in the uk have this?

Big fan of the show and wanted to rewatch it after watching it a while back but I can’t find it anywhere? I’ve tried Netflix, iPlayer, Amazon, Sky, Now etc and nothing.

I get it wasn’t a big show but for not one streaming service in the UK to have it is crazy to me!

If anyone finds it and spots it on a streaming service in the UK then please let me know! No matter how old this post is when your reading it, thank you 🙏

Where was this show most popular?

Between UK and America?

I'm in Australia and I love it. I'm just curious since it's a cross over of comedy styles where it was most successful.

Help to find the name of TV series

Hi! I'm seeking for help to find TV series that I have seen when I was little and it got stuck in my memory couple of parts of either one episode or couple of them mixed up.

Basically there is a girl who is either depressed or sad or something like that. The episode/s is sort of dark scenes. She has lost her either sister or a twin in a car accident, while her father drove and they were arguing/crying in a back seat and he wanted to give a teddy bear and accident happened.

Now she's and adult and she is somehow able to call this phone where sister/twin answers and after she hears her voice she travels either back in time or in the future or somewhere can't recal.

Anyone able to tell me what sort of episodes it is? I also rember that the phone has to be called some letters like R5 or something ahha!

Love the show, hate the opening theme song

I know it comes off as petty. But does anyone else not care for the opening theme song?

It's just so....flat.

Sean Lincoln Quote help

Now that it is off Netflix I can't just find it for myself. So striking out finding online scripts of the show.

Episode 5, season 3. Shawn and Beverly go to sex therapy. Towards the end of the session Shawn says something like "hate to break it to you doc but not everything comes down to sex. It's as if we broke a fundamental of relationships, and that's trust".

Does anyone have a way to get the actual quote. Been thinking about it for a few days and it's bugging me.

Thanks

Shows people like if they liked Episodes?

My wife and I just finished binging the whole series in a few weeks, and would love to find something similar to watch. We tried starting a few other series, but they weren't interesting to us. So what's your suggestion as something people might like if they liked Episodes? For reference some of the shows we like were Friends, Doc Martin, Downton, and a few others like that. Also, we liked Columbo, but didn't like Rockford Files, for what that's worth.

Beauty filters?!

My girlfriend recently started this show and called me over to look at something. Good lord the under eye blurring is unbelievable. It looked like a beauty filter of a Chinese phone. How did that get into the edit, are we so far gone we can’t have under eye wrinkles any more. So many questions.

We need a "Best of Myra Licht" montage!

Myra was the best character in the entire show. The weight gain and baby was a great addition to feature her more. I feel like her character deserved so much more time than it received. I'd love to see a video montage of her all her appearances.

*edit her instead of here and a period

Character Studies (just for funsies)

I wanted to share some character traits I noticed because why not!

Carol - People pleaser (has literally said this in the show), hates being judged (seen in her relationship with Beverly) but feels dependent on other's perception of her (a good trait for her job), low self esteem (multiple insecurely attached relationships with minimal insight), authority complex (has mentioned "daddy/mommy issues," not to mention to the running theme of romantic relations with 3 different bosses), kind and caring (intro the Beverley and Carol's relationship in which Carol noticed Beverly looking upset and suggests a walk to debrief despite Beverly declining), good at her job, work driven, loves weed (self medicating for anxiety maybe), self centered (Beverley often remarks how Carol is talented at steering a conversation back on herself repeatedly, it seems Carol does this unintentionally but quickly forgives herself and replies "oh so what!") This could be a reflection of Carol's loneliness, not having many people to talk to about herself so once she befriends Beverly she is eager to process her brewing issues which slowly change thanks to Beverly's feedback, which Carol somewhat hates.

Beverly - Intelligent, witty, judgmental (lets her judgements be known through witty commentary, seen a lot with Carol), can easily turn soft and nurturing (seen towards Carol, Matt, Sean), a sucker for free stuff and gift bags, self respecting (wont go to sleep in unwashed sheets at Matt's ranch house and I'm sure other examples I can't think of right now), stubborn but not always to a fault (Beverly seems to be the only one who is not only aware of the typical LA agents lying to get their show started only to be met with forced changed later but she sticks her heels in the ground and refuses to fall for the trap a second time). Carol remarks multiple times that Beverly doesn't like many people and doesn't even seem to like Carol herself. Beverly seems to be the opposite of Carol in this way in which Beverly trusts her own opinion highly and seems to not give a care in the world about what others think of her. She seems to be a bit more of the authoritative (out spoken?) one in her marriage with Sean. Many of their fights stem from Sean disagreeing with Beverley and Beverly wanting Sean to feel the same as her. Beverly is strong and does not show very many vulnerabilities, she seems to get angry before sad. It's a bit of a shock when she sees Sean masturbating to Morning's porn video and we see Beverly tear up.

Matt - Matt reminds me very much of Bojack Horseman (I've researched and found a few posts about this). He's narcassistic (doesn't ask about Beverly and Sean's new show in season 4 (I think) and ok there's so many examples I don't think I need to list them), fears: commitment, getting older, being seen as a "washed out" actor, self soothes with alcohol and hooking up with women, lacks authentic relationships and once he develops some with Beverly and Sean he goes above and beyond his typical self-centered/materialistic ways to maintain those connections.

It's late I'll probably come back to add more. Hope someone finds this somewhat interesting.

Where are the hiking scenes between Beverly and Carol filmed?

This was asked and answered before but the answer was deleted. I'm going to the LA area later this year and it seemed like one of the more scenic hiking places.

Castor Sotto was right!

I'm rewatching season 3 from 2014.

He says that network TV is dying. Every year the ratings get lower. Cable is killing us. The internet is killing us.

Then he says throw away the "when."

"When" the show on is irrelevant. It's just on. Forget nights, timeslots, and lead ins.

The rest of his rant was crazy but how many people watch network television? There are still millions of people watching network TV but most of the shows I watch now are on streaming services. So many of the Emmy nominations just released are for shows on streaming services.

Even networks like NBC have started their own streaming service with Peacock.

Castor was ahead of his time.

lol

Was Myra right?

Through out the series Myra was seen as the head of comedy but did not get or understand comedy and yet she was in charge of comedy. Ha ha, we all get a good laugh. When Shaun and Beverly have to do a table reading with Myra she clearly does not get what comedy is (though the fact she confuses bats with beats is on her) and does not think it is funny. Well, she is right, but she only seems to be the one to admit it.

Do you think Myra was in fact correct to be the head of comedy and was simply pointing out just how bad everything was but everyone was so false they didn't want to admit it? Maybe that was the point of the character and I have only just caught on but I just wondered what others take on it was?

Something I just noticed about the ¨new boys¨

so as you know, after the pilot, they cast new ¨kids¨ as the hockey team players. Like many tv shows, they are hella old. Anyway, I was rewatching and noticed that the three main players all went on to land significant roles in lauded shows. The actor who played Stoke had a lead role in Nashville. The guy with the two dads goes on to play Greyworm in Game of thrones. The blonde kid who was 27, and waiting on his divorce so he could remarry went on to play Aethelwold in The Last Kingdom. All three of them had stand out performances in those shows. Now the funny thing is that I have yet to see the actor/actress who played Sean and Beverley in anything else, notwithstanding that they were amazing in this show.

Does Matt Leblanc character ever grow?

It may just be the point, but I'm near the end of season 3 and haven't seen much progession from him. I know it's probably just to be absurd, and it's a sitcom so people are forgiven incredibly easily for terrible things, but still. It just gets incredibly old and cliche to watch.

I don't understand how Sean took no precautionary measures at all. Like at least close the door and wear headphones dude 😅
