Guys Mtbmb is possible my favourite album but the critics trashed on it. If em listens to the idiots the album will be garbage. The rap critics are idiotic and tasteless. To this day I don't get the encore hat and I hope em just does whatever he wants (no filter) on this album
Eminem is the guy who introduced me into rap and hiphop in general, I've listened to only him and his style type rappers (D12, logic, joyner lucas, some royce da 5'9''...)for abt a year, but Nas with this masterpiece of an album really made me go and change it. What do you guys think of it? And do you recognise the similarities between it and infinite since Nas was Eminem's fav rapper for a long period?
Given that both Kamikaze and MTBMB were direct references to old albums (Alfred MTBMB and BeastieBoys LT3) and knowing that Em is a huge fan of marvel and Dc comics this makes a lot of sense. Also has a song Superman lol
Em (again) overshadowed Royce but both them are fire on this track + the beats and the beat switch + flow at the end is chef's kiss*
What Em song is on your repeat list? Another song I'm listening on repeat is Bump Heads. I don't know why I like diss tracks more lol
was 90 percent of the eminem hate online and in the media manufactured over the past 7 years?
It’s just non existent anymore relative to what it was. I hope eminem gets a fat W with The Death of Slim shady to keep it that way for good.
By now we know that it’s going to revolve around ‘The death of slim shady’, and some are already speculating it to be an album where features and Em himself are suspects, and the album is going to be like a detective story narrative.
IF this is true, will it have more replay ability than if it wasn’t?
On the one hand, it would be a dope concept album from start to finish, every track leading to the next, solving mysteries. This would make the album very consistent as it would have a theme to stick to and questions to answer. People would also go back to songs trying to decipher potentially who killed Slim.
On the other hand, it might be a good album to listen to as a whole, but it might not be heard enough for the same reasons- you have to commit to a whole story, every track leads into the next, picking a song randomly wouldn’t make THAT much sense, and since it is a story based album, songs wouldn’t be relatable to a lot of people outside of the Eminem community.
I don’t know if I’m getting across what I have in mind, but its just an interesting discussion.
Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments and share your opinions.
Super excited for DOSS. 🔪🎤💥
You will get trolled for having a different opinion... even if its right... if another artist drops a sick album its wack because its not eminem... and late to the party all the time... I tell people something one week get laughed at and downvoted only to be proven right a week later... Time and time again... and the fans just pretend like they were right all along... I told people new album would be shady inspired... downvoted... was told it will be eminem show 2... told them diddy was a perv last year... told them usher was a weirdo - even said no hes not his tv performance at half time was great... he's a predator this will be proven ina month or two. Trust me... this place is not reddit eminem... its the cult of eminem... hence why I made a fan page r/shadyavenue were its nothing but music 24.7 - you know who fucked up the eminem sub??? It wasn't the childish fans or idiot trolls it was the neglect from the subs that killed it... stone cold murdered this sub!!!
My theory is Eminem is just retiring Slim Shady, Slim Shady, Eminem, Marshall Mathers persona’s were made for D12 because adding up the Alter Ego’s added 12 and Eminem really hasn’t done anything with Slim Shady since MMLP2 in Rhyme or Reason, I think he’s wants to get rid of the slim shady persona and be more serious in future albums.
I also think Slim Shady was the drug fueled character and Eminem has been sober for over 10 years so it would be a good idea to kill him off.
Also I n the video 50 says “he wasn’t a friend he was a Psychopath” talking about Slim Shady
Will this be a Retirement Album? I don’t think so, he has sad in many songs he’s got no plans to retire, I think he’s gotten sick of surprise drops because there’s no hype for it
What do you think?
https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTL9AEkUK/ I've been feeling majorly inspired to start rapping to some made at home beats after listening to some past albums. I appreciate any criticism
I can name a few -
Hey guys,
Looks like the team is clearing up inventory for the new album merch. Lots of MTBMB, MMLP20 and some SSLP25 merch is up on the site. Full sizes, even some vinyl/cassettes.
Curious what the team is cooking, but there’s also this new Slim Shady T-Shirt that’s kind of hinting about the new album. It has a shovel digging a hole and some bullets and Slim looking afraid?
Thoughts on that shirt specifically what it could hint at track wise?
So in my dream the album's first two songs were introductions to Slim Shady and Eminem. Both songs also had a singular conjoined music video. The only line I remember was Eminem saying "My name is marsh and (martian)", which is the same from the song Marsh. But the flow on this was different.
Nothing else from the dream I remember..
Single dropping 5/3 - “Always Been”
Been wondering if the Death of Slim Shady will be a Slim Shady farewell album or will it be Eminem rapping about his personal?
So as someone who has listened to EMINEM for a long time, I naturally came in touch with many people who share similar taste in music. People who listen to the more lyrical focused hip hop, such as Rakim, NAS, EMINEM, Aesop Rock, KDot and what not. However, I have always noticed that despite being huge eminem fans, in some cases a lot more dedicated and excited than me when it comes to discussing EMINEM's music and his impact, these same people shut down completely in social media, almost as if they are nervous or scared to say that they like eminem, or EMINEM is their favorite hip hop artist etc.
Do any of you guys feel the same way? If so , what do you think could be done to get past this ?
On one hand, I love the song. The writing is really strong and paints a good picture, the story about wanting to run away is something I can relate to a lot, and it just sounds good. There’s a lot of emotion in it.
But… that Zombie sample. It works kinda but the song is about the Irish Troubles and In Your Head never really does anything clever with it. Usually when Em samples a famous song, it’s a creative flip of it like Stan. But there’s not even a reference to the IRA in it. It does not connect to the running away story at all. And for a political album you’d think the Cranberries sample would have been used for… you know… a political somg. Such a wasted opportunity.
Still one of the better songs off Revival which isn’t saying a lot but overall I like it.
Is this Marshall’s freshly shaved chinny chin chin 🐖?
mic drop.
