Howdy all. This is as poorly timed as it gets
I am looking to relocate my family from SWFL to somewhere better.
My wife has found a house she loves in Ellijay
I'll be selling my business and my home. I'll be needing work.
Is there a need for home maintenance/lawncare up there? Is there some service lacking?
Also I don't mind an hour commute, I have 20 years in sales, can elaborate more if you know of anything
Appreciate any information

We’re headed to Ellijay this weekend from next door (AL) and I’m just wondering if there’s any flooding from Helene in the area? I know GA is disastrously flooded in some parts but I haven’t found anything specifically for Ellijay. Thanks!
Been going to both, which one do yall like more around here?
Wondering is it hard to get homeowners insurance specifically fire? There's a lot of places that are getting hard to get it and also some places are doubling and tripling their prices. Can you tell me what the average prices for homeowners insurance? Does that include fire or do you have to buy a separate fire? I was thinking of just getting fired if they have only fire. I've never bought a home so I'm new to all of this. Thanks 👍🏼
We had an adolescent black bear exploring our front porch and yard this morning, no doubt looking for a snack without success.
Specifically for like ducks, chickens, and other farm animals
Will be visiting over the holiday and was wondering what the town usually does for the 4th? Fireworks? Parades?
Have an Airbnb on the Ellijay river near goose island lake. Our group is interested in fishing and kayaking. The only information I can find is about the Cartecay river. Hoping it would be possible to put our Kayaks in at the Airbnb and float down to a place we can pickup at. Any suggestions for the Ellijay river or should we just make the drive?
Hi everyone, does anyone know of a coworking option for a needed day at the office in the middle of a vacation? Near or around Elijay would be great.
my wife and I are looking at raw land in Gilmer county/cherry log Ga.
we read while our cabin Is being built we cannot live in an RV of Any kind. Then my wife finds multiple RV homes with a deck and canopy for sale on zillow.
Can someone explain how this is legal/possible.
I looked up "Coosawattee Resort" for this listing assuming it was an RV park/community so what's the deal with being able to live on my own raw land and have a garage/canopy like this for an RV,overlander/sprinter van/5th wheel, slide in truck bed camper...what's allowed if anything at all?
Is this basically a listing for the land and it just happens to have an Rv In the description
how is this allowed in Gilmer county? https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/113-26th-St-Ellijay-GA-30540/2083855404_zpid/
Can anyone explain why eastbound traffic on River Street yields to westbound SR52 traffic turning left onto 1st Ave? There are no signs on River St. stating yield and no signs on 52 west stating anything about left turn having right of way.
People yielding unexpectedly is tremendously confusing and does not follow any rules of the road or convention.
I am sure many have heard about the proposed cryptomining structure proposed for Ellers Road. It is a proposed land use CT-1. I am unable to find that definition on the county's land use website which hasn't been updated since 11/2023. Does anyone here have that definition?

Current resident but wanting to find a realtor who would be willing to not only show Ellijay, but as far as Calhoun, Dalton, & Dawsonville also.
Currently with ATT for cell service and it’s pretty bad. I can go outside and stand in a specif spot to take calls. Generally drops out and is inconsistent. I wouldn’t expect perfect service up here but wondering if anyone has decent service with Verizon?
Watched a YT video about Ellijay and it seems locals were commenting complaining if not wanting people to move there.
Reason?
I'm considering making my way up to the Apple festival next month (specifically the weekend of the 21st/22nd) with a few friends. I've never been before - what can we expect if we go? Any insight on what there will be to see/do, when is the best day/time to go, is it worth the hype (vs just going to pick apples at one of the orchards outside of the festival), etc?

I’m bringing my road bike up to ellijay this weekend and am looking to do a 30ish mile ride. I found a loop out from downtown to Talking Rock and back. Are there any group rides going on this Saturday morning or anyone who is familiar with cycling routes in the area?
Hey everyone! I'm working on an article about Ellijay, Georgia's tourism. Can you suggest some cool places to check out, great restaurants or cafes to grab a bite, and hotels to stay at? It doesn't matter if it's a well-known hotspot or a hidden gem, I'm interested in hearing about your personal experiences and recommendations. Thank you!

Heading to the Elijay area in late October with my gravel bike. I found a couple of routes through Mulberry Gap and have pieces a few of my own together through MTB project and first service trail maps, but any local knowledge of the riding the in the area would be appreciated. I’m riding a drop bar bike with 42mm tires and and I’m a solid bike handler, are any of the marked mtb trails doable? Or should I stick the the fire roads? Any good food/beer recommendations are always welcome as well. Thanks!
I’m planning a girls trip with my mom and sister. We used to make applesauce with my great-grandmother using Jonathan Apples. Does anyone have recommendation for the best place to pick Jonathan apples and when the best time to pick this year would be? (Specifically Jonathan)
I'd like to come up from ATL and do some trail riding.
Is there a business in town that rents MTBs? If so, would any of them drop off & pick up the bikes at an Airbnb for an extra fee. For example, this one:
