Was wondering what it’s like there, what games do people play, do people recommend it, do the game cost money to play? Been thinking about going, but I’m kinda anxious and I’d be going alone was wondering if anyone can pit my mind at ease if it’s worth going alone.
I'm willing to admit if I'm the issue here.
Today I was the first car at the red light turning left. There was a lot of traffic. The light turned green and opposing traffic flowed for the whole light and then it turned yellow and there was still opposing traffic flowing.
What would you do?
A)Would you gun it in the two seconds you have before it turns red,
B) Wait for the green light again,
C) Something else that maybe I don't know
I chose option B as the guy behind me laid on his horn. If it matters we were at the intersection right past the Bonnie Doon Medical Clinic towards Bonnie Doon Shopping Centre.
So im a young woman living in Dunluce area, going towards Clareview area almost every day for my new job using the buses. Im so nervous for the northgate transit center in general but especially if I end up with a lot of closings! (9pm at night) Is there any advice anyone can give me to deal with any possible crackheads/scary people? I'm so incredibly nervous.
Looking to get my PC cleaned as it’s been a year and a bit since I last had it cleaned. Are there any good options anyone can recommend in the south side other than memory express? If I do go to memory express, does anyone know the turnaround for it? I don’t mind being without my pc for a day or two but longer than that would be less than ideal.
Hey Edmontonians! I'd like some perspective on this situation.
Heat is supposed to be included in my rent. It was cold and temps were hovering around 66f so I requested maintenance on November 28th. They sent someone he bled air out of the radiator but it didnt change the temperature of the suite so the next day I made another request. I noticed the other request was still open but I didn't have the ability to take it down. In the description for the request I said that the air was just bled out of the radiator but my suite is still cold. They took both requests down and said that it was because there was a duplicate request. I then submitted another request that night it said the following:
Hello, my suite is still not being adequately heated, and I am having to use my space heater and an electric blanket. A maintenance worker came and bled the air out of the radiator but it did not ultimately have an effect on the heat. I just made a request to have a second look but the request was removed with no maintenance done. It said duplicate request was the reason so there may have been some confusion as it seemed the first request was still open.
The next morning I received messages from the building manager saying that I was not clear in my description and said they would schedule an emergency request today. She then said that I will have to wait until Monday and she will send someone then and that in the meantime I will have to buy thermal curtains. I asked if they were expensive and she said yes and I asked if I would be reimbursed and she said no. I'm also paying extra for space heater and electric blanket because electricity is not included in the rent. I wait until Monday but no one shows up so i text her she said tomorrow because emergency maintenance needed to be done. It's the next day no one has shown up. She is saying that no one else complains, and that they are a big rental company and they will not be fixing the draft coming in (she said this was the issue) until 2025/2026, but I'll probably be out of here by the time it gets fixed. Guy was supposed to show up yesterday to install plastic frame on balcony window to help but no luck.
What do you think? Am I being unreasonable? What would you guys do?
I'm a huge fan of YouTube. One of the shows I regularly watch on YouTube is "WHAT WOULD YOU DO" and "UDY". What Would You Do is a social experiment channel. They hire actors to stage scenarios, like a boyfriend abusing his girlfriend in a Starbucks (but they are just actors). Hidden cameras capture how people react. UDY is a guy on YouTube who runs loyalty tests on people to find out if they cheat or not. He sets up hidden cameras, hires an actor, and the actor hits on your girlfriend or boyfriend. Then you get to find out if they cheat on you or not. I want to start a similar channel of my own here in Edmonton.
But I lack MONEY. I don't have the cash to buy $8000 cameras. Also, I can't convince shops like Starbucks or Tim Hortons to let me film inside their stores. Unless I pay them $50,000 or offer them a bunch of free advertising on YouTube, they won't agree to let me use their store as a film set. UDY and WHAT WOULD YOU DO are able to get away with it, because they get 20 million views per video. So they can offer stores tons of free advertising in exchange for filming rights. But when you're just starting out and you have no views or money yet, how do you get the ball rolling? Do you just film in public using your phone? Ideas please?
Hey all,
I'm in need of someone in Edmonton who can service (or maybe replace) a dryer - looking for recommendations.
I've seen similar posts suggesting that dryers are great for DIY repairs/maintenance, but I don't live in town, so this isn't an option for me.
Thanks in advance!
My trade in value online through dealers is $3500. I understand dealers will typically offer a good chunk less than "black book".
What would you value a 3.7L V6 2012 F150 at 245,000kms in the "black book"? Extended Cab, XLT. No mechanical issues so far, two cosmetic dents - one in the hood from a golf ball and one in the bed of the truck, about 3 inches in size and half an inch deep.
I'm trying to find the guts to pull the plug and get something newer and more fuel efficient now that I live in the city, but I don't want to waste mine or other people's time by selling privately at a terrible price. This is my first ever vehicle, and I have no experience selling.
So our vehicle just keeps having issues and think we need to get a better vehicle for our family. Just don't feel it's worth investing anymore money into if we're just gonna continue having more issues. We don't have the best of credit unfortunately but my dad is willing to help cosign for one. We don't need a brand new vehicle, just want to get something reliable. Any recommendations where to go look and who can help us the most. TIA!
Tried to google around & such but got nowhere. Does anyone know the pre sale code? Thanks in advance.
I was scammed by an online "retailer" purporting to be in Vancouver. The cc company will help me if I can find a retail "expert" who can verify the two items I ordered were not as advertised. One was supposed to be a cashmere sweater and the other a high end men's jacket. Both are very cheap Chinese made and certainly it's not cashmere. Any recommendations or volunteers out there for retailers willing to help?
I remember about half a year ago people were (rightfully) roasting mcdonalds for the prices of their meals being unaffordable.
Recently I've seen billboards everywhere for $10 meals. Makes it seem like the public couldn't stomach their prices and they finally took notice. They even have the $1 coffee to try and bring people in.
How do you all feel about this? Are they too far gone for you to shop there again?
What has been the biggest drama event on r/edmonton this year? Love the hear any I missed!
I'm looking to take some beginner art classes in Edmonton. I have a busy work schedule with shift work, but I'd love to find a way to make some classes work, and get inspired creatively. I'd love to try pastels, oil paints and maybe learn how to do portrait and landscape paintings.
I am the general manager of The Varsity and vehemently deny that this occurred. We have NEVER terminated an employee within their first week and especially would never under circumstances like this. We highly value our staff and do everything we can to accommodate illness, injury and simply having life issues.
Before people jump to conclusions and bombard our Google with 1 star reviews, please keep in mind that we are locally owned and operated and work hard to support our local communities.
I'm absolutely certain that this story is untrue and am willing to put my name and reputation on the line to prove it. To the original poster, if you'd like to prove this claim, I'm waiting for real evidence. I can be reached at my direct email, toddcraner@varsityburgers.ca
It's easy to post lies under the veil of anonymity, how about stepping into the spotlight if your story is true because I'm willing to.
Todd Craner,
General Manager, The Varsity.
The Pine Siskin is a type of finch, and like many of our finch species flocks of these birds often wander through the year. Attracted by the seeds left out along wooded trails and in bird feeders, they can be easy to find in the Edmonton area during the winter.
My cat has an e-tube and the current bandage arrangement is not great. Ordering off the site will take weeks especially with the ongoing postal strike. Looking for somewhere I can go pick one up today if possible.
Hey, so I’ve recently been planning to come to Canada early 2025 on a working visa from Ireland. I’ve been offered work by a carpenter in Edmonton who is willing to help me out to get settled and train me under him and his crew.
This is a big move for me as I’m 19 and have been trying to get out of Ireland for a long time so I’m glad I’ve narrowed my options down and have this offer infront of me for the future.
I’m curious to hear from people living over there, how is the lifestyle in general? I have heard lots of good things about Edmonton and also the bad, but I know that no place is perfect. Any advice or tips for someone coming over to live there, would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance
Last week I was questioning if I was a morning person after getting a major eye roll while rocking out in my car at the same intersection on my way to work. I don't even mind rush hour traffic if it means I can rock out and dance in my car longer.
You made me smile so hard. I'm glad I'm not alone.
Keep having fun.
As a newer homeowner in Edmonton, the change in weather has me wondering what to do with the downspouts on our home. Do I leave them up, or should I put them down while it’s so warm.
Any advice from some veteran Edmonton home owners would be much appreciated!
