Veterans Day

I'm rewatching the DVDs of this show, which I love so much!

While watching the first episode of the series ("Pilot"), I noticed that the date on the first paper that Gary gets is Tuesday, November 12th. That means that the current date (in the world of the show) is Monday, November 11th. Yet Gary and Chuck go to work. Wouldn't that be Veterans Day? Just an odd little thing I noticed! 🀩

(I figured I better put a spoiler alert but I don't really know if I had to but better safe than sorry! 🀩)

Gary did this a bit too early- Season 4 Episode 20 Time

!So I haven't watched the show in years, but I remember the episode (S4E20) where Gary realises how he met Lucious Snow when he was young, and Snow chose him then. Gary then chooses the little girl in the episode to receive the paper next. But technically speaking, Gary still pretty young, and has maybe 4-5 decades till he probably dies. Wouldn't the girl also be pretty old by then too. Imagine being a grandma, and suddenly you get this paper, would probably throw you off balance. It makes sense that the owner of the paper gets it when they are younger and are able to get used to how it works etc. Was a decent episode, but I think they were a bit too ambitious!<

How do you think the cat carried the newspaper?

I sometimes try to think how the cat might have carried the newspaper...did he carry it in his mouth like a dog? Did he just drag it? How do you think he did it?

Is Gary actually vegetarian?

I just watched episode where Chuck's uncle steals the mayor's dog. At some point Phil (the uncle) gives Gary hotdog and Chuck says Gary is vegetarian and I thought he was just saying itπŸ˜…πŸ˜…

Kristy Swanson (as Erica Paget).

Such a shame that she was only in one season. I really enjoyed her character and her performance. Unbelievable that she never received opening credits (while Billy Worley did, for the meaningless character Patrick Quinn).

Her final appearance at the end of season three was one of the more emotional moments of the show.

Oh wow - haven't thought about this show in years but loved it

Saw this link when looking at threads about The Way Home. I used to love this show! Now I'll have to go back and find all the episodes.

Darn I don't see it anywhere on the Roku.

Why Chicago Was Chosen:

I’ve been watching Early Edition (or re-watching it) & tonight I was watching the episode called β€œThe Quality Of Mercy.” Anyway, At the end of "The Quality Of Mercy" episode, there was a voiceover saying "By the way, Chicago was chosen as a location for Early Edition not only because it has plenty of shooting locations, but it also has a rich history for national newspapers and journalism."

I personally found that interesting and wanted to share that little Early Edition tidbit here. Not sure how they know that but it makes sense & I wanted to share that here!

I love this show's music score

I can't tell which instruments are being used, but the intro music you hear as soon as an episode starts sounds so comforting and lovely.
