I’ve been listening to the new album and I’ve definitely been enjoying it! It’s not my top album of theirs (I can’t decide between neon or self titled, but also love drift) but I’m still enjoying it. I’d love to hear what everyone’s top songs are. I personally think Past Life Persona, Idle Wild and Crawl Backwards Out of Heaven are my top three, but have also enjoyed Rumor of Light.
I just simply cannot get enough of this song. The heavenly chorus, the catchy intro riff, the background instrumentals at 1:39, the lyrics, the song is perfect imo
Second, can you tell me what brand and/or materials it’s made of on its tag. I cut mine off years ago and would love to find another shirt as comfy as this one is. Thank you for entertaining my weird request 😅
I love the new album but I'm having a hard time connecting with any of the songs lyrically, however there's at least one song off of every previous record I connect with lyrically. Thoughts?
I pre-ordered a Cure shirt back when pre-orders went live and it hasn’t even begun the shipping process yet. Anybody else experiencing this? I would understand if it was at least on its way, but the release date came and went without any progress seemingly being made. I’m a bit irritated by this
Thought it would be fun to see what peoples rankings were for the new album. My ranking so far after 5 listens is this
I think all the tracks are awesome and have amazing elements. But this is my ranking. Interested to see others and how they differ and why you love songs that maybe I have ranked lower.
Jesse Cash is an awesome guitarist and is seriously underrated imho! And I was just wondering what everyone’s favorite ERRA riffs are?
Here are mine: Cure, Divisionary, Gungrave, Luminesce, Monolith, and Signal Fire!
This is my humble opinion ONLY after the 1st listen.
It clearly looks like it's going to grow a lot, but personally, this is not as good as the self titled or even Neon.
A few comments:
It's still ERRA, it's still great, they can't make a "bad" album, yes, this is not their greatest, but it's very much appreaciated by me and will be rocking to it this coming weeks!
Thank you Jesse, JT, Alex, Conor and Clint!
Alpha Seed is the first song I heard by them and I fully love that song. I'm looking for more songs that sound similar to that one.
Is anyone here going to the Toronto show in May? I’ve never gone to a concert on my own, and it looks like I may have no one to go with. Just wondering if any nice friendly people or groups are going that I might be able to tag along with.
I just finished listening to Cure, and it's honestly not great at all
Way too generic and poppish, the djent riffs are not as memorable as previous works and are also way too weak (still compared to previous works). Their biggest mistake IMO has been going from prog to melodic.
Changes aren't necessarily a good thing. Best broths are cooked in the oldest pans, and all their previous works have proven that they CAN do that.
I'm totally aback by how they managed to almost rip their identity: ERRA isn't a melodic band for me, it's a progcore band with crazy djenty riffs and guitar solos
The second part of the album (from Glimpse to Wave) is IMO the best part, and what is closest to their old sound, but modernized. All the first part (from Cure to Slow Sour Bleed) is just bad. Not the ERRA I love.
The songs they previewed before the release made it seem that this is gonna be one hell of an album to hear, Like Slow Sour Bleed.
However, what disappointed me was that some of the songs felt like JT didn't appear in it at all. Past Life Persona felt like it was from Linkin Park in terms of the heavy presence of clean singing in that track
Thoughts on this?
Highlights: Rumor of Light, Idle Wild, Blue Reverie, Past Life Persona, End to Excess, Wave
Listen to all of those back to back if you want a fantastic crying session.
Hope you guys can agree:)
What are we thinking? It took a little while to process the departure from ST, but now that it's settled in for me I'm absolutely loving it.
Seriously, Nigh to Silence is pretty much a perfect song from start to finish. The structure of it, the chorus, the breakdown. All of it.
Being a musician, I can’t help but appreciate this song more and more every time I listen to it.
Don’t get me wrong, there are MANY virtually perfect songs from these folks, but to me it truly seems like they were on another planet when they wrote this song.
All that said, what do you all think is their most well-written song?
The new album is just so good, I can’t find any words to describe how I felt about it. I was just smiling the entire time while listening to the album
Because daaamn, he was the most brutal vocalist of the three (between Garrison and JT).
And Moments of Clarity is so underrated IMO, because the solos ans riffs on that work are so unique. Peak ERRA there.
Wish they call him for every EP they'll made in the future.
The og two EP's are really hard to find and aren't posted on their YouTube or Spotify pages, I'd love if that was changed. Erra - erra, 2009 And erra - Andromeda, 2010 Are actually their first releases, but they're only officially on Apple music.
So I wanted to get tickets to the MTL show and those sold out so quick. I’ve used stubhub before just fine but I know some artists don’t allow resale. Ticket master doesn’t show any resale tickets for that show however they are on stubhub and vivid seats. Just wanted to see if anyone had any info on resale tickets before I purchase them.
I'm new to Reddit, thought I'd share this with all of you lovely people! I arranged an original reimagining of one of my favourite Erra tracks, I hope you all like it. Thank you for reading, I hope you're all okay and having a lovely day.
