Dynasty Baseball
A dynasty fantasy baseball league drafts a full roster in the first year and the rosters and managers roll over to the next year, only holding a draft for unowned players each year. Once a player is on a team, they are owned by that team unless traded or dropped.
The strategy of dynasty challenges you to not only build a roster that may be successful for the current year, but also the seasons thereafter. This involves targeting younger players with potential in hopes that they develop into quality fantasy baseball players for years to come. These prospects are held to replace players due to retirement and decline in play. Often times dynasty league rosters have an expanded size to compensate for players that may still be in the minor leagues or aren't contributing enough yet to be play in a fantasy lineup.

I have 3 openings (2 spots have been filled) in my 20T 6x6 OBP categories league. This league is going into year 6 and it includes various members from this discord. It is a year by year league so no paying for future years. 25$ for league dues and the like 6-7$ Fantrax premium fee.
We have an offseason Rule 5 draft and the main FYP+J15 draft ahead.
Going to be a dispersal draft that has mlb highlights of: Vlad Jr, Devers, Yordan, A Riley, Harper, Rooker, L Butler, Gil, Webb, H Greene, Pablo, Altuve, Alonso, Jazz, Senga, M Miller, Gallen and so many others
Two of teams in dispersal are previous league winners and they were both playoff teams this year so there is plenty of strong talent.
League chat is on discord.
2 owners needed for a 6x6 Roto Dynasty league continuing. 25 keepers each year (no separate Minors or Majors). FAAb/Draft picks/tradeable. The teams are as follows:
Team 1
a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 2 5th, a 7th, 8th, and 2 9th in the upcoming draft with the 1st rd pick being 1-3 (second is 2-3 and then it depends on trades made).
Team 2:
1 1st, 0 2nd, 1 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6 th, 2 7th, 1 8th, 1 10th. The 1st round pick is 1-7.
Confirmation overnight. If you have the no.1 pick in FYPD this season, don't overthink it
Both teams competing
Team 1 gets: Jordan Westburg + Ha seong Kim
Team 2 gets: Nestor Cortes + Cristian Javier + Jhostynxon Garcia + KC Hunt
TLDR: What's the best number of keepers to facilitate fast successful rebuilds?
I entered a 5-keeper league in 2023 and won it. Last year I signed onto, probably too many, keeper/dynasty leagues with mixed results. They varied from that OG 5-keeper to a league with 34 MLB spots and 10 prospects.
My question is: what format is most conducive to teams rebuilding successfully, and which formats can you rebuild the quickest?
I am a novice to the dynasty format of fantasy, but first played fantasy baseball in 1991. Took many years off due to things. I would like to hear the opinions of long-time dynasty format managers.
My hypothesis: moderate keeper leagues, 10-15 players are the hardest to break into the top. For a 10-team, 15-keeper league, the only players being kept are top-150. If a team busts, tilts, whatever and ends up with just 5 top 150 players, it seems very hard to for them to catch a team that might have all their top 15 being in the top 90 or 75.
In favor of high keeper numbers - you can take chances on prospects that a team near the top wouldn't. And there becomes value in volume. A top team might trade a top-25/50 player for 3 or 4 players in the 100-150 range, if the conditions were right.
What experience have you had with different formats?
Looking for 11 teams for a dynasty startup. H2H categories league
14 man league need help with a trade offer I received.
Giving up Bichette and Braxton Ashcraft for Luis Castillo
Have Marcelo Mayer and Carson Williams in minors. Xavier Edwards in SS slot if I do the trade.
We currently have two openings in a 30 team dynasty league. H2H points on CBS. $40 buy-in. The league is entering its 13th season with a lot of the original members present. The league is active on Slack and we're hoping for members with fantasy baseball, preferably dynasty, experience. Happy to answer any questions you may have. Also feel free to PM me. Thanks so much.
*Update: we are now full. Thanks to everyone for the interest!
Hi guys. I play dynasty NFL and have played season long fantasy baseball in the past and would like to get involved in the dynasty side of things. Any tips for platforms to use, different rules I should be aware of - basically anything you'd include in a dynasty baseball starter kit! Thanks 👍🏼
Anyone have a draft upcoming or looking for another owner? Would prefer to be in one in the $20-$50 range per year.
Fantasy Baseball Fanatics League (FBFL) is entering it's 7th season, and is looking for one owner to join a two team dispersal draft!
High level details include:
One owner had the best record in the league last season, while the other was in the midst of a rebuild, so a good mix of win now and future assets are available. The full list of players and assets available for the draft can be found here: FBFL Dispersal Draft
The other owner is ready to go, so as soon as you sign on, we can get started nice and quickly. If you have any more questions or want a more detailed summary of the rules, don't hesitate to reply here or DM me. Thanks for looking!
Anyone have a trade glitch occur in Fantrax?
Proposed a trade in my dynasty league today, late tonight it got declined and half a minute later the same trade exact trade was proposed back to me so I accepted it. 10 minutes later The guy texts me saying he messed up when he went to counter, 10 minutes after that the trade is cancelled. The commish says it was a glitch and Fantrax cancelled the trade and then says he was with the guy I was trading hours before when he declined it. Is my commish lying his ass off? Or has anyone actually encountered a glitch like this? I just emailed their support and figure they’ll get to the bottom of it.
Hi all.
Apologize if this has been asked before. The gist, I've got 2 other dynasty leagues that have been around for 15+ years and I think the dynasty landscape has changed a bit in how things are run. I'm contemplating starting a new dynasty league BUT curious how new startups are done.
For example, in my current leagues, you can pick up ANYONE regardless of MLB status. I think nowadays, many will have an FYPD at some point—similar to how we're doing the NFL / NBA dynasty.
Additionally, if I was doing an NFL startup, it could be draft and you could be trading away future draft picks.
Just looking for some input/ideas for how I might want to run things going forward.
TIA

I am currently working on a pilot project in conjunction with a major sportsbook that involves a simulated dynasty league in MLB the Show 24 and am looking for owners! 29 teams have currently been paid for. Details below:
Payouts include:
Plus many more!
If you're interested please let me know!
Ottoneu, Fangraphs points league
Jackson Holliday
for
Lawrence Butler, Josh Hader and Brandon Lowe.
Context: I also have Bazzana, Christian Moore and Brooks Lee. I need OF and RP.
Personally, I feel like I probably need a little bit more than that for one of the top prospects in baseball. I said I might do it for those guys plus his choice of Toglia or Bryce Eldridge. We’ll see if he goes for that. If not, what do you think? Butler could be really good for a long time.
What's up everyone! It's been too long since I've posted to this subreddit, so I wanted to catch up with everyone. I have had several free posts lately I thought I'd share including a top 100 prospect list. I do things a little different in the off-season with a longer-form newsletter that includes dynasty stuff but also random culture stuff. I also figured this could function as a q&a, hit me up with any dynasty questions you got.
