Hey everyone!
I’m planning to pursue a Master’s in Media and Communication or an MSc in Marketing at the University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD). While I’ve heard a lot of opinions (both good and bad) about doing a Master’s in the UAE, I personally believe it could be a great opportunity given the region’s growth and potential for networking.
That said, I’d really appreciate some insights on: 1. The student crowd at UOWD – what’s the vibe like? 2. How are the professors and their teaching quality? 3. What are the job opportunities after these programs, especially in the UAE?
I’m also curious about how UOWD stacks up against EM Normandie and University of Birmingham Dubai (UoBD) for similar courses.
I am open to other university programs as long as it is CAA approved. Are there any other accreditations important in the UAE??
Please note: I’m not looking for general negativity about studying in the UAE. I’ve already heard so much that it’s made me question my decision, despite believing in myself and my ability to make it in the UAE. I’m simply seeking honest opinions and experiences about these specific universities and programs.
Thanks in advance for your help!
It's so hard to find an area you like and can afford but then the school fees is through the roof. And then when I find a school that's affordable, the rents are crazy!
I am aware both of these drugs are available in Abu Dhabi. I get Concerta in Dubai and it does not seem to be working for me anymore.
For those on them who do not live in AD, how do you get them in Dubai?

I’m new to Dubai and recently had my first shipment come in from China. It was an LCL shipment with an invoice value of $4,000, shipped on CIF terms by the manufacturer. However, unexpected costs during clearing, $2,000 just for DO charges and later other charges
When I spoke to a few agents, they mentioned this is a common issue. Apparently, shipping lines in China often provide exporters with low shipping rates to secure their business, but then pass the additional costs to the importer.
Is this true? Have any of you faced similar challenges? If so, what’s the best way to handle or avoid this in the future?
Want a Tamron 17 70 lens. Any trustworthy market?
Hey Everyone,
I’ve been working in Dubai for over two years, gaining valuable experience in customer service and sales in Telecom field and in the banking sector. I’m now looking to transition into a Customer Service Representative role with Emirates/Dnata, a company I greatly admire. I’ve already applied through the official website and have been waiting for weeks, but I haven’t been able to secure an interview yet. I believe I have the qualifications and experience needed for this role. If anyone seeing this post can help me get an interview or connect me with the hiring team, I would truly appreciate it!

2025+
I'm planning ahead of my move to Dubai in early 2025
Hi guys,
I am reaching out for some guidance. I am 25 years old and have recently relocated to Dubai from Sydney, Australia. I hold a Bachelor of Commerce degree and have accumulated 5-6 years of experience in banking, including roles as a money laundering analyst, sales, and customer service.
As I navigate the job application process here, I am uncertain about the appropriate salary expectations to list. Recently, I was offered a mortgage sales position with a salary of AED 7,000 per month, which includes only a visa and health insurance as benefits. I am concerned that this offer may be below industry standards and would appreciate your insights on whether this is typical for the market in Dubai.
Hello everyone,
If anyone is interested in socializing and meeting new people. Looking to visit a few cool locations such as botanical garden, butterfly garden, cat cafe, Do fun activities such as indoor sky diving , bowling, arcades, Museum Visits. Do send me a msg. Age range preferrabley mid 20s or above.
I participated the last two years but weren't gonna be able to participate this year so I didn't register.
I recently started a commission based freelance job that ended up paying more than my full-time job, They pay out weekly and so my bank account kept getting flagged when I would receive the commission and I would have to go to the bank with paperwork to get it unblocked, Today I got called in and they claimed I was laundering money, I showed them proof and but I was taken to the police station for a statement, I even called the owner of the company who was paying the commission to come the police station to give his statement at the criminal investigation section and only then they allowed me to leave(I believe if he didn’t show up I would’ve been held until he gave his statement) but they said I have a travel ban and shouldn’t try to leave the country until the investigation is over.
I spoke to a lawyer who happened to be at the station waiting area and she said I don’t need to worry all I need to do is check the police app daily using my case number and to come in for updates and to try solving it at the station before it goes to Dubai court.
I asked at the station if I should get a lawyer and they said at this time there is no point and it might get solved within a few days. However I am freaking out and don’t know what to do.
The owner of the company who is paying out the commission said I need not worry as it’s already solved and it’s something bank’s do to show they are investigating potential money laundering cases and that has happened multiple times before. As it’s extremely rare for people to earn such high commissions outside of their job especially people with my profile(gender, age, nationality, etc)
He advised me in the past after the commission exceed 80,000 that I should get a freelance license and NOC from my employer in order to receive payments or alternatively just get paid in cash.
I’ve been out for 3 hours now but I am constantly having panic attacks and don’t know what to do, I am extremely stressed and don’t know if I should be worried or what to do next.
Any guidance or advice would be much appreciated.
My friends (2 girls) are sharing a room, looking for another girl. Balcony attached, 3 single beds. Rent 900. DM if interested

If you’ve hired a company that did a great job, please share the name! Or if you’ve used any specific products (sprays, traps) that actually made a difference, I’d love to know about those too.
