Does anyone have images of the fully-grown Desert, Soaring, and Cliff dragons? I know they were removed fairly early in the game's lifespan, but I've always been curious to see what they looked like.

Why can’t this game be emulated, exactly? My qpp recently found that you can emulate School of Dragons, and has been playing it for a bit. That game was also an online game that was shut down, so why is DV World any different from another game that also had its servers shut down? I’ve heard it can’t be emulated but why can other online games that are no longer around be?

Does anyone have an recommendations for alternative games like this one? I haven’t found any that I like the art style as much. I’m on iOS and Steam.

A shame really, played dragonvale since launch and never gave this one a try. It is weird looking back thinking dragonvale used to be so popular that it got a sequel...

What if we worked together to make a new DragonVale game? (thinking about DragonVale humans if not DragonVale world 2)

Thanks to the work of some individual members of this sub, there's a lot of the original data files and assets that have been saved from players' devices. Because of this, would anyone be interested in joining a team to make a casual recreation of DVW? My development team is looking for some new projects to work on, we have a bit of financial backing, and we also have some contacts who were at Backflip before it went defunct.

I was recently reading about the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), and learned that there are certain exemptions granted to it, one of them is that the anti-circumvention measures of the DMCA do not apply in the following case: “Video games in the form of computer programs embodied in physical or downloaded formats that have been lawfully acquired as complete games, when the copyright owner or its authorized representative has ceased to provide access to an external computer server necessary to facilitate an authentication process to enable local gameplay;” DV World falls into this category since Hasbro shut down the servers, as such if anyone wants to host their own servers or mod the game to allow it to be played locally, then you are allowed to do it. I think that this would be important for the long term preservation of this game.

I have most of the dragons from my time playing, but I am missing 6 Specific Dragons:

• Summit
• North
• South
• East
• Silk
• Squelch

A) Had any of these dragons in your Park

B) Still have the phone/game/files from when you played DVW

I may be able to extract the files with your help!

I played on Android, so an iPhone may be more difficult, but to save these dragons I will do everything in my power!

I just miss the game. I understand if it would not come back, but I still miss it.

I always wondered why after Backflip shut down, they closed servers on this game but not on the original Dragonvale. I assume it was because of it being less successful, but why? I went onto the wiki for the game, and I noticed that they often drastically changed or outright removed content, such as the Caven Dragons. The original Dragonvale has updated their designs occasionally, but never got rid of anything, or changed it fundamentally. I wonder if this lack of stability led to its demise.

For me the main draw was the art and dragon designs. It's a matter of taste, I know; but the style was exactly my jam and so far nothing else comes close :(

3 years later and it still down

I know this game shut down a while ago so this place is probably pretty dead, but does anyone have any alternatives to this game? I've been playing the original DV but I really dislike the art style. Dragon City has a nice art style but it's pretty ad heavy which can be kind of annoying. I'm sad cos DVW was a perfect middle ground for a mobile game. Does anyone have any other recommendations to fill the void?

I spent years on building my park only for it to be taken down. Does anyone know if DV World will ever come back? I know it probably won’t but I’m just so sad. A piece of my childhood gone...

Does anyone have any working and safe APK files of the game? I only just learned about the shutdown, and man, that's kinda heavy. I spent a whole lot of time on this game years back, had that enchanted deadwood dragon and everything. I know there isn't much hope at this point, and I can always go back to normal dragonvale, but I'm just looking in the last place I know to look.

This game has shut down 3 month ago now but I I always like this game and hopes that one days a remake will came back or another one with the same graphic and cool dragons

I never played it but jus got back into og DragonVale for the first time since 2011 Nd am sad to hear I missed out on a whole other DragonVale game:( Seems like everybody loved it

And my heart just broke. I took a long hiatus from this game as life had just got in the way.

I just went to open the game to see all my beautiful dragons and eggs I have collected and it wouldn't open. I googled what happened and the news hit me.

I'm so sad and so frustrated with myself that I didn't get back to playing this game sooner.

I know there's still Dragonvale but for me it's just not the same.

I’m not sure if Backflip ever browsed, or still browses, this sub, but in case they do, I wanted to say thank you for creating a beautiful game. I had never really played mobile games before this one, but I happened upon DVW a couple of years ago when my father was in the hospital. It was a difficult time, and DVW was a bright distraction during long hours waiting in the hospital. It may seem small, but it was a comfort to me when I didn’t have much else. DVW has always been a game with a lot of heart, and I am grateful to the DVW team. Thank you, Backflip.

Which Dragon do you think you’ll miss the most from DVW? Mine would either be the Ronin or Kaiju.
