Just want to know if anything Should be done before going to post game. Thanks for any response
In this playthrough that I started today, I will play through DQ11 while the game is being controlled by.... Microsoft's Copilot! Copilot will be in charge for every turn of combat and every skill point decision. To minimize any choice that it can't make on its own, I decided to play in 2D Mode with the No Shopping setting on. I will also be in charge of using the Fun-Sized Forge and accepting side quests. In combat, I will tell it literally everything from enemy stats and moves, playable character stats and moves, items they have, as well as any spells and abilities and what they cost, and all NPC allies' moves. It's a lot to input (and will only get bigger as I acquire more items, abilities, and party members), but I still feel motivated somehow.
I tried this idea a year ago when AI chatbots were in their infancy, but I wanted to try this again. ChatGPT made it all the way to getting Veronica and Serena before completely soiling itself. It also had a lot of hiccups along the way where it halucinated things neither the player nor the enemies could do. Luckily, Copilot seems to keep itself more stable (though I have only played through the Cobblestone section so far). It seems to know baseline strategies like knowing when an attack is likely to OHKO an enemy so as not to waste its spells as well as knowing that Gemma could heal him so he could play more recklessly.
Anyway, wish me and Copilot luck on this stupid, stupid challenge! I may update if anything special happens like getting a new party member.
Only a few hours into the game but I am in love. This game is so good. I think the moment I realised I loved the game was when the queen plays the flute and springtime begins. The music and the imagery made me feel things. Having a fun time. Any DQ5 lovers out there?
.8 and 11 are my favourites, but 6 stands in 3rd place and imo, it's a good game, at least the DS ver, i didnt play the original 1995 one at all.
Hi all,
I would like to know if it is possible to level up tablets beyond level one if you are only playing on an emulator. I would like to see what it is like to deal with harder level tablets. Please advise. Thanks!
In Dragon Quest X Offline Edition, do side quests actually award XP? I'm sure I've not had any XP from them. thanks
I’ve finished the fan remake of Dragon Quest (titled: Dragon Quest+) and I am genuinely shocked by what I’ve played!
Although the game is very simple, it is still very vast and full of adventure…
I love the approach of old school where the player is free to travel wherever they want without any constraints, only getting a few hints here and there from NPCs. Something I wish more games would do.
It took me 9 hours to finish with little help from the Internet.
Super thanks to Nightfly for spending 11 years making this amazing remake.
I'm sure this question has already been asked but I think it would be interesting to see fans show their creativity and what elements they would want to include and new elements that they would want to add into the game and perhaps even what things would you want to remove from the game
I've been playing every DQ numbered title. 1-3 on GBC, 4-6 & 9 on DS, 7 & 8 on 3DS and 11 on switch. I'm currently on 5 making my way through each game. I'm enjoying 5 so much I found a fan translation version of the PS2 remake I put on my PC as well as I made an account and have been playing Dragon Quest X in English which is a lot of fun. The goal is to finish the franchise before DQ12 comes out or before Kingdom Hearts 4 releases.
Hello guys!
Due to a post here I started dragon quest 8 yesterday. I looked up some years old question about skillpoints and what to prioritize but I’m curious if I could just go with the flow without breaking the game.
Like what happens if I don’t go with spears for the hero in early game and don’t max out axes first for the first guy in my troop?
How hard and unforgiving will the game be? How hard is farming skillpoints going to be?
Why I wanna build different? I don’t wanna break the immersion or look up too many guides. I don’t mind a little more difficulty but don’t wanna end up with a wall I can not get over.
Thanks in advance!
Did this game's final boss feel like mostly RNG to anyone else? Dragonlord and Malroth were tough too but I still knew when I was safe to attack and buff and when I had to defend and heal. With Zoma on the other hand, it always felt like a roll of the dice whether I could heal or attack without someone getting killed. And I swear the Insulatle spell barely made a difference against his cold breath attacks. I even did some level grinding in between attempts(everyone was 5 levels below what you see here the first time I fought Zoma) but it didn't feel like that made much of a difference either. On the plus side it made finally defeating him all the more satisfying and DQ3 is still a good game regardless.
Flying is the worst thing in the game, omg the lack of control
Hey guys, I never played any dragon quest and now I just got a switch, which one should I pick up to start my journey? 😀
Thanks!
I currently am at the portion about the guy who made sculptures of buildings and people. And I have a party of four who are not yet at level 20. And I lost to the dragon boss. Is grinding a lot necessary in this game? Or is it fas to get high enough levels? What is the best way to keep up with the level curve?
Aaaaaand then naturally this happened. Nothing special about the image. Just felt compelled to play this masterpiece yet again. Idk who I'm marrying this time tho
I know that the beginning was changed, and that later on the classes will be different, but is that it?
Also, I soft locked myself the first time I played because a Shard was locked behind water that lowered then rose after Keifer meets the dancers...was that changed or do I gotta be careful of things like that?
As title said, right now I just unlocked the >!trials at the field of discipline!<. Did not really forge at all tbh (only crafted the >!Drasilian !<armor) so far? I am lost if the armor I need is crafted or a bought in a shop?.
Is there any particular reason for the lack of item randomizers in Dragon Quest as a whole?
I've been working with an item randomizer for DQ8 a couple of years ago (using the base coding from playinful), but couldn't really get the cutscenes to work. The game kept crashing over and over again in various cutscenes. Sometimes after entering Farebury, sometimes when encountering the Jessica cutscene on top of Alexandrias Tower. Furthest I've gotten was on the boat to the kraken fight. No matter if it's ps2 or pc modding.
Now I've been trying to look into an item randomizer for DQ11 S, which could really be interesting, as I've already played through this game several times. But nowhere near the typical spots to find basic setups (Nexus, GitHub, etc.) are even signs of someone trying to develop such a randomizer. Even older games don't really have working equivalents.
So I'm wondering. Is it just such an uninteresting topic to the player base to add randomized items and instead focusing on textures and QoL stuff like skipping forging, alchemy, etc. or adding topless female character models, or is it just extremely difficult to get started with such a coding adventure?
It seems to be working for DQ1 and 2 to have good, balanced and most importantly working randomizers. But for every game after that its hard to even find someone that temporarily worked on it.
