GPS issues

Twice n I w in the last two days I have had my linked GPS start sending me away from the delivery location. First time I thought I messed up and kept following it by the time I realized it I was already to far away to get back without receiving a significantly late violation report. Then it tried to do it again tonight but I caught it and was able to correct in time. Anyone else seeing this issue?

Is it worth becoming a DoorDash driver to help pay off debt I have?

I am currently over 100k in debt. I have two jobs and looking for a side gig as well. Would DoorDash be a good opportunity for extra money or would to be a waste?

You can’t make this up…

I have never had this issue before. How absurd…

My notes on account: I’m on the first floor of the xxx condos. The only car gate entry is at the light on xxx directly across the street from xxx. My unit xxx is on the backside of the building. Thank you!

Dasher: Excuse me Miss, the code is incorrect. Does not open the gate

Me: This is the correct gate sends screenshot on dasher maps of correct gate circled in red The one you’re at is an exit gate

Dasher: Sends Live Photo of exit gate where he’s at. ? I can’t enter, says incorrect.

Me: Yeah, that one doesn't open from the outside. The one across the light off xxx is the only gate that works to enter

Dasher: Miss, I’ve already turned around, the gate is closed.

Me: The gate off xxx is closed. You have to put the code in for it to open

Dasher: I have already turned around and everything is closed I’m sorry. Do you want me to leave it here?

Me: Can you cancel the order please? I'm not able to exit the house right now.

Dasher: Heads into oncoming traffic to another exit gate Miss and how do I enter through this I don’t see the code I mean to mark is this with control?

Me: That gate doesn’t open *sends same screenshot again with the correct gate clearly shown and marked in a red circle.

Dasher: Oh my god

Me: It’s the one across the light off xxx

Dasher: Still at the exit gate on the wrong side of the road with oncoming traffic. This is off xxx, I can’t find where to enter. Can you cancel the order.

Dasher: Please

Dasher: Can you cancel the order please

Me: Calls customer service they read transcripts, admit the dasher is at fault and I get a full refund. They cancel the order and dasher gets $30 worth of food for being terrible at his job.

PS I find it funny that he called me miss cause I have a male name and indeed am a man.

The Chipotle and the Gun

Super alarming forsure — but i think the dasher uploaded the wrong picture. I know there was a chipotle bag in the photo but he could very well have eaten there recently / that day. the room photo just makes no sense otherwise?

the thread was too long so posting separately here. i feel like thats the only logical answer?

How much money do you spend on DoorDash per month?

I checked my bank statement this month and saw I’d spent over $400 on DD 🧎🏾‍♂️‍➡️

I need help directing my drivers...

No matter what I do, no matter how hard I try, our drivers just never do what they're supposed to. I'd say 1 out of 4 times we actually get our food without having to go on a hunt to get it from some other location.

For some reason the GPS on iPhones will tell people we live in this courtyard down the block from where we actually are. They always go to the 444 building when we are 514. They're very clearly marked. The GPS confuses everyone, I get it, but that's why I have this in my description for how to deliver our food:

'PLEASE READ! Go halfway down Stanton (our street), DO NOT go in the parking lot, we are NOT in the courtyard, our building is beige with a dark gray door, we face the street, we have a doormat with a dragon on it. If you get lost, call me!'

And yet they just can't find us still. Is there something else I can put so they understand the instructions better? Any help is appreciated. I have severe agoraphobia, so a lot of the time when they deliver to the wrong place I have to send my room mate or I just don't get it.

DoorDash gift card pin help

Hi! I received this DoorDash gift card for my b day and i must’ve scratched off the code & messed it up because every time i enter the code DoorDash says it’s invalid. The last 4 letters look like 3RKF right? DoorDash support has not helped at all. The gift card is for $50 so I’m trying to get it to work!

Question for dashers about tipping

As a customer, if I’ve tipped really well a couple of times does my account get flagged or noted that I’m a high tipper or something. Or are there notes that only dashers can see on a customers account?

I ask because I’m a pretty generous tipper and ever since I’ve left high tips, I noticed that they are super nice to me when they hand me my order and/or ask for an additional tip now.

So I’ve wondered if my account is flagged that I’m a high tipper or something.

(Btw I already leave the standard tip on every order no matter what anyway)

Albertsons 22 items for $17 - declined. 5 seconds later it came back paired with another Albertsons order - 66 items for $27 - I considered it, but I didn’t have a ton of time so I declined. 5 seconds later this one hits me.

Is there a way to only get English speaking drivers?

I live in a complicated neighborhood and sometimes people can get lost. Lately my dashers are only Spanish speaking and when they get lost it’s been quite difficult to explain directions. Usually by the time we get it sorted out, the foods already cold.

Please give me info

Hi I live outside the US but my elderly father lives in Florida. I’d like to order him food using DoorDash or GrubHub both suggested to me but I don’t know which is preferred, and how easy it is for me to use. I have been able to order Uber to him from another country as I work abroad. Can you give me a crash course how to use, which is better to sign up for, and any precautions? I want to test the water as I’m visiting Dad now for a couple weeks. Thanks and sorry for my inexperience (67 yr old helping Dad in his 90s).

I can’t get the app to open at all. White screen of death. I’m on WiFi currently but I also tried just cellular as well.

Lost my platinum benefits just now

Did my first fu doordash decline and it feels so good, no more feeling pressured to do thrash $3 orders to maintain platinum. Where u take 10 thrash orders to get 1 good one. Because bs doordash benefit yet. They know your acceptance rate is important so they try to slide the thrash in your direction

Apartments that have over 100 units on a floor.

Apartment numbers that make no sense.

Trying to figure out how to add DoorDash to my favorites and it’s not working.

I’ve added both the DoorDash text number and the phone number to my favorites, but it keeps replying that I’m driving. And the message bounces back.

Customer hacks me with phishing scam - BEWARE!!

Hey everyone, I wanted to share a scam I ran into while dashing so you can avoid it.

I picked up a $7.50 McDonald’s order, and right after, I got a call from a number labeled as “DoorDashOrder.” The caller, “Charles,” said the order was placed with a fraudulent credit card. He claimed they needed to cancel it, compensate me, and clear a flag on my account to prevent deactivation.

Here’s why it was so convincing:

• The call came from the customer’s caller ID, which looks nearly identical to DoorDash support’s caller ID.

• They knew my first name, last initial, delivery address, and the order details.

• They even used the customer’s name to make it seem official.

“Charles” asked for my phone number, email, and a six-digit verification code. Thinking it was DoorDash, I gave it to him. Then he told me to log out of my account so they could “fix the issue.”

When I tried to log back in, the verification code was sent to my phone number and to an email I didn’t recognize: “KeshaColemanXXXX@gmail.com.

At that point, I realized it was a scam. Thankfully, they hadn’t changed my phone number, so I could still access my account. I immediately changed my password and called DoorDash support.

Support confirmed:

  1. DoorDash NEVER asks for verification codes over the phone.

  2. The call came from the customer, not DoorDash.

How to Avoid This Scam:

Don’t share verification codes. Ever.

Know the risk. The customer’s caller ID looks nearly identical to DoorDash support, making it hard to tell them apart.

Be cautious. Scammers use real info (like your name, delivery details, and the customer’s name) to trick you.

Call DoorDash yourself. If something seems off, hang up and contact support directly.

This scam was super believable, especially with how much info they had. Stay alert, and don’t let them catch you off guard!

Need Input on my Interaction with a Driver

Hopefully he’s not on this forum and reading this, lol. So I ordered dinner from a restaurant 10 min from my job. I would have picked it up myself but I couldn’t physically leave. It was a $50 order and I tipped $15. The door dash app said it was to be delivered in about 30 minutes (not sure how they can say that- but ok). In 15 minutes, the app said the driver reached the store. About 5 minutes later, the app had the drivers real time route showing and the driver was going the OPPOSITE direction of my job. I texted him and wrote- “hey, I see that you’re going in the opposite direction. I would like my food not cold and that’s why I tipped well”. No response. I waited to see his movements and it was still continuing in the opposite direction, then it was at a standstill. So I called and asked what was going on. He apologized and said he was given another order for little ceasers and he had to wait for that. He said he didn’t want to get penalized for turning down orders so he had to take those 2nd order. He’d only been working for 6 months and didn’t know how to not get penalized if he didn’t take extra others with mine. I said it was ok and asked if DD would be ok if you delivered mine before the little ceasars order. He said wasn’t sure and that one time he had to sit in a restaurant for 3 hours. I just said please come as soon as you can, I don’t want to wait 3 hours. He showed up 10 min later. He apologized again, tried to explain how DD works, and said he had no idea I can see his location. I felt so bad with him trying to explain and he looked so sad and tired that I just said I appreciated him and gave him an extra 20.

So my concern is this whole thing of getting several orders at once and making multiple deliveries. How do you prioritize that and make sure someone’s food isn’t cold or takes too long to be delivered. We can see the driving location on the app. I actually had this happen a month ago, where I tipped 30 on a $90 order and it took an hour to be delivered for only 10 min away because the driver was making other stops. I naively thought it was traffic but someone pointed out what was actually happening. The driver also admitted he had other stops. I try to tip well to make my food get there promptly and have my directions followed.

DoorDash should have a set base pay instead of decreasing it when customer leaves a good tip

Wierd situation, Curious about the dashers thoughts. And I appreciate each and every response 🙏🏻

I ended up loosing my shift today because I was messing around clicking on different zones trying to start my dash the whole time. It kept telling me I was already scheduled and it wouldn’t work - which literally makes no sense, considering I was trying to start my zone scheduled dash. ACTUALLY after messing around tapping different things I was finally able to get a Dash Along The Way option to the zone ( that was originally scheduled that was canceled moments before) The dependability on This app scares me considering I need $800 made to pay my rent. # BESIDES THE POINT I went from my dash getting cancelled… to starting my dash choosing a new active timeframe for all day, then eventually Getting an option to switch zones which wasn’t even scheduled! I live in Pittsburgh so is this normal to happen ? Then if it’s very busy you have the ability to JUST DASH Regardless of schedule ? In fact THERE IS A $5 PEAK PAY RIGHT NOW! AND A $25 AN HOUR + $10 AN HOUR PEAK PAY MAKING $35 AN HOUR EARN BY TIME PAY!!!! This is crazy!!!! most I ever saw! So, my question is what I mentioned in the beginning text is normal to happen? And for some reason 7 days away it says no slots available Even though I scheduled every day before that. Sorry for such a long message but it would mean a lot to have your insite on my wierd situation 🙏🏻 thank you everybody
