I’m visiting for a sister trip. We want to go out this weekend 11/1-2 in our Halloween costumes. Are we going to be the only ones in costumes at the bars this weekend?
Your feelings may differ. I'm disappointed, but not surprised.
Looking to get married in DC next fall, we are looking for suggestions of a place that can hold 150-250, outdoor style (somewhere in the country) or away from the city. We would love any suggestions you might have?
We have a smaller home in Sturgeon Bay that we are looking to add an additional bath and master bedroom. Smaller project but would like to find an Architect to give us some design ideas.
I'm very excited to be spending a weekend in one of my favorite places on earth. I'll be staying in Sturgeon Bay with my girlfriend and driving up and down the peninsula for a few days. I just wanted to ask locals how the climate is for trans people (and I guess the LGBT community in general) in Door County. Are there places I should avoid? Or maybe some places I should check out specifically?
For some background I'm from Milwaukee and I've been visiting Door County with my girlfriend annually for over a decade at this point. We usually do some hiking hit up local shops, shoot some photographs, and just generally have a relaxing very unstructured weekend. This year will be a little bit different. I came out as a trans woman just over a year ago and started transitioning with hormones about 9 months ago. I'm early on in transitioning but depending on how I'm dressed, whether I wear make up and all of that I can pass in a lot of situations as long I don't talk too much. Even if I pass though we're still a gay couple.
Honestly, based on my experiences in the past, I'm not super worried but, there's a part of me that thought I should do a little reconnaissance given how often we (trans women) get brought up in the political discourse these days. I've always felt like most people I've run into don't seem to judge too much and as long as you're willing to have a drink and a conversation everyone seems really friendly and genuine.
Additionally, if you have any recommendations of things to check out while in the area we're always looking for new stuff to do.
Thanks for reading!
I bought a used car recently, and we're still in the honeymoon phase, where I'm thinking of getting the little bit of rust she has fixed. I don't know if I'm looking at $500 or $2k, and these days I would guess closer to the $$$$. But I'd still like to get an estimate. It's just a little, older Toyota Yaris, but I love her and plan to have her for years.
What would be the most down-to-earth price-wise in the Sturgeon Bay/southern Door County area?
Thanks!
I am purchasing a home in Algoma. We will be summering there this coming summer. I would like to find someone to check on the house once a week just to make sure everything’s OK. I thought about hiring a cleaning service to check on it but then I remembered this Reddit. Yes, I understand that Algoma is just under 5 miles south of Door County… but I thought maybe some of you might know of someone who checks on vacation homes while the owners are away? If so please respond with their names and contact information if you have it. Thank you very much.
My grandfather has spent most the year living and working in door county, but always comes back home to St Louis in November. In recent years the ride is too much to do alone, so I come up and help him close down the house and spend some time there before driving us home.Usually he picks me up from Green Bay but this year he is in a hospital in green bay, so we will need a ride from Green Bay to door county (Bailey's harbor). I checked Uber and they wanted an outrageous amount,so I thought perhaps I'd check here and see if maybe a friendly neighbor or someone that wanted to make a little money was available we could work something out. Message me with any questions or suggestions please

Hi all,
We're going to be heading up to Potawatomi State Park this weekend, and are looking to do a guided fishing trip (either smallmouth or walleye, ideally) on Saturday the 26th. Any suggestions? I've reached out to a handful of places, but there doesn't seem to be a ton of availability. Feel free to DM.
Thanks!

hello! me and my girlfriends are going on a weekend trip to door county in November. We are all in our late 20s and would like to go somewhere like a bar or some place that has music for dancing if possible. Is there any place near Sturgeon Bay good for nightlife?
Hi everyone! I currently live in the southwest suburbs of chicago and we want to do a fall day trip to see some beautiful foliage tomorrow (Saturday). We've heard great things about Door County, WI, and it's a 5-hour drive from us. Is it worth the trip for just a day? We'd love to hear your top recommendations and must-see spots, especially hiking trails and scenic views. Any food or coffee suggestions would also be appreciated! We're open to ALL ideas. Thanks in advance!🍂
Impressive display of desserts. Does anyone know what is made daily or made fresh onsite?
I show up to work, and hes dancing in front of the marina again, and all the customers are asking me, ‘oh did you see the guy in the dinosaur costume?’ How couldnt I
I'm telling you the maple trees are on fire this week. They are stunningly beautiful. It's times like this you just don't realize how many maple trees are on this narrow peninsula. Now if the wind would hold off to allow them to keep their leaves a little longer, life would be perfect.
Anyone living in those area I am in need of a skidsteer rental recommendation that will deliver and pickup.
If anyone has any good leads it would be appreciated.
I have a personal connection to this facility and an incident like this is concerning to me. My apologies to the one guy that thinks I’m “karma farming, “whatever that even means to them.
