Vinum Sabbathi.
Welcome to the Doom Metal Sub
Doom metal is an extreme form of heavy metal music that typically uses slower tempos, low-tuned guitars and a much "thicker" or "heavier" sound than other metal genres. Both the music and the lyrics intend to evoke a sense of despair, dread, and impending doom. The genre is strongly influenced by the early work of Black Sabbath, who formed a prototype for doom metal with songs such as "Black Sabbath", "Electric Funeral" and "Into the Void".
During the first half of the 1980s, a number of bands from England (Pagan Altar, Witchfinder General), the United States (Pentagram, Saint Vitus, Trouble) and Sweden (Candlemass, Count Raven) defined doom metal as a distinct genre.

FAQ
Can I post something if it's not doom metal? Yes! We like proto-doom, sludge, stoner rock, heavy psych, and other "low an' slow" stuff from bands that aren't considered doom metal.
How should I tag my post? Tag it how ever you want, but this is what we think works best. "Artist - Song Title [style, country, year]" (without the quotes)

Very different from their previous stuff but an excellent album nonetheless.
I’m honestly just posting cause I’m surprised I don’t really see them mentioned much. I personally like their version of Under the Sun better, even if I don’t get Zakk’s EMG obsession lol.
Seems like a lot of doom bands took more Sabbath influence from the Iommi riffs than the Ozzy vocals but I'd love to get some recs on bands with the high whiny/nasal thing going.
My meds have kicked in, but I'm genuine on this. Also, not an upvote party, I'm just super cereal, love you guys!
Excellent show last night in San Francisco. I don't know why this band isn't bigger.
Opening band, Older Sun, is kinda like a dark version of Jefferson Airplane. If a fan of retro witch rock, check them out.
So I’m branching out and decided to give Conan a deep dive. Everything’s great and fun, but the vocals kinda get to me.. is it just monotone shouting through all their material or am I just scratching the surface of something?
I understand the whole battle cry and demolishing effect the ear receives. Just kinda like.. boring in ways, please throw some notes in there besides the one, dude.
Typing that I find beauty in the lack of and switch to the mindset of a noise rock influence. It’s all just fucking art, whatever.
Shitty recording but I just want some feedback 🤷♂️
Probably a long shot,
But does anyone have a bootleg of the Roadburn performance yet? If so, feel free to reach out. I have some of O'Malley's harder to get vinyl ripped Id be willing to trade.
Cheers.
Obviously in a good way, but in what songs are the riffs so sick they make you screw up your face? Ex. Bongripper - Nothing
Got myself the Life Pedal V2
Produced by Steve Albini (RIP)
Total random question I decided to test you folks with, because I'm waiting on a 1200+ page PDF to finally generate while I'm at work. :)
But I am genuinely curious if there is a such thing of:
Cheers!
Oh my
