I just saw this tiktok about Prince’s contract with Sony and how he had to change his name and put out shitty albums to get out of the contract. It’s insanely weird, funny, stupid at times and totally unrealistic. It’s crazy to me how Beyoncé stand are like ‘we’ll it’s a commentary on obsession wiling loads of things not necessarily B’ lmaooo of course it’s about the fucking Beyhive bruh that’s some serious mental gymnastics. Yes, there’s a guy addicted to unhealthy eating, yes Marissa dies of a drug overdose, yes there’s a whole ass cult lol but the thing tying the plot together is an unhealthy parasocial relationship. They literally mention Queen B and the Hive, every episode begins with a message that similarities are intentional for goodness sake I’m dying laughing just thinking of all the denial people had. And yeah I know there are theories and deeper meanings, this isn’t my first rodeo, I was a huge fan of Atlanta, but this seems like a pretty straightforward project for Glover, just like a ‘don’t think too much about it’ kinda thing.

Overall, Dre is psycho, the acting was wonderful. The detective episode floored me, felt like a Key and Peele skit in some scenes. The WIGS, oh god THE WIGS were surprisingly also well done. I rarely see effort on that in many movies and shows with black people who don’t have straightened or loosely curled hair. Loved the diversity in black hair(my personal obsession lol). And Chloe was great too, will definitely be blasting this soundtrack for a week at least.
