Seeking Advice on Working as a US Doctor in the UAE with Temporary Permit

Hi everyone,

I’m a US-trained doctor interested in exploring short-term employment opportunities in the UAE. I recently learned about the new temporary permit for medical practice introduced by the DHA and have some questions about the process.

  1. Requirements: What are the general requirements for US doctors seeking employment in the UAE? Are there specific qualifications or experience that are needed?
  2. Documents: What specific documents will I need to prepare and submit for the application process? Any insights on what’s required?
  3. Visa Information: What type of visa would I need for this temporary role,
  4. If I get this permit to practice, do I still need the other temporary work permit?

Here is the link on the temporary work permit:

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hey Everyone! I've a genuine doubt regarding the SOPs to get the medical licence in UAE. I'd be grateful if anybody could help me with their insights.

I'm a medical graduate from India and I do hold an experience of 18 months (after completing the 1 year internship). I have also taken and passed the USMLE Step 1, 2 and 3 examinations.
To get the DHA licence, I'm exempted from the DHA exam but do I still need 2 years of working experience to be able to apply for the licence or can I get it based on the USMLE examination?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
