I recently binged Elena of Avalor today, both rewatching the series and having finally finished the show after falling out of it in 2017. And damn it was pretty cool, I found myself re-rewatching episodes more than twice in a row.
But something that confused me, (which was a confusion I had when I originally started watching the show when it first aired) was that there seem to be 2 conflicting origin stories involving Shuriki's invasion.
In the first episode, Elena states that she faced Shuriki on her own to give Alacazar a chance to trap her family in the painting to protect them.
But in Elena and the Secret of Avalor (the prequel to the show, which was also the Sofia crossover), the invasion was shown to be very different. Elena is shown running away in fear after seeing her parents get murdered and is flat-out ambushed by Shuriki. Furthermore, later on in the special, Elena is shocked to discover that her sister and grandparents were trapped in the painting, and learns from Shuriki herself that it was Alacazar's doing. So she wouldn't have had any prior knowledge to this, nor would this have been a motive to fight Shuriki on her own during the invasion.
The real world answer is likely some last minute rewrites since Secret of Avalor was originally written as a Sofia the 1st episode that would've been a backdoor pilot to the Elena series, but bc that series aired too early, (almost 6 months before the prequel), they had to make some last minute additions to give it a crossover vibe/origin story. I think that the sequence of events leading to Elena's imprisonment being changed was a consequence of that.
Since later on in the series we do see a legitimate flashback to Shuriki killing Elena's parents, with it being framed in a similar way that it was to Secret of Avalor, I like to disbelieve the prologue and go by what the crossover episode showed us.
I'm not finding a lot of information on this online. All I know is that the Beast is likely the tallest, even when he turns human. In the movie and in children's books, he still appears rather tall after the transformation. I think he could be somewhere between 6'2-6'5.
Two characters I loved growing up, Dimitri & Aladdin, I think are both much shorter. I would say 5'6-5'8.
What about the other princes? What are your thoughts?
I am solo traveling in WDW and trying to make it last a little on my last day… entertain me by ranking your top 5 princesses! Rationales are welcomed but not mandatory.
Here are mine:
Caveat: Elsa would hands down be number one if she counted! I love her subdued but powerful character, the best costumes ever, mysterious and magical, doesn’t need a love interest which I relate with, recluse like me, one of the best songs ever made and overall frosty aesthetics are incredible
I'm wondering if anyone here owns like the Sleeping Beauty 50th Anniversary DVD, Beauty and the Beast 25th Anniversary DVD, stuff like that that has special features.
I don't own many DVDs in the age of streaming and just watch my movies on Disney Plus.
Are these DVDs worth having at all? I noticed that the special features on Disney Plus are lacking.
And does anyone know if there is or there will be anything similar for the newer movies like The Princess and the Frog and Tangled?

Hi everyone. I got an important question that is bothering me for a long time. I'm looking for a disney princess cd/video game from early 2000's as I guess. The game main screen was a violet castle among the violet clouds. There was playing a calm music. One of the steps in the gameplay, as I remeber, was one of the sleeping beauty's fairies flying through the forest and then she wing her way to the castle where princess were (Aurora, Cinderella, Ariel, Jasmine, Belle and I'm not sure if there was Snow White). When one of the princess was chosen it started a short game. I remember Ariel's cave where the player was supposed to collect some artifacts. There was also kind of a design studio book of Belle's or Cinderella. And in Auroras's section there was only a shorten of the original movie. I was playing this game on the TV as a child. I've searched it everywhere and checked every single game that is is written on websites but none of them is the one I'm looking for. Seems like it is a lost media or sth. Maybe any of you have played it before? Maybe you know the title? Please help me :))
They would definitely get along and it would also be pretty funny without a translator like I can just imagine the giant language barrier. Like you’ve got maybe more than 10 different languages being spoken. I guess someone like Belle would have some kind of experience with other languages due to the amount of books she reads but then you’ve got princesses like Jasmine, Mulan, and probably Moana with a completely different writing system with barely any other way to communicate other than actions and stuff. I’m not making fun of languages but I wonder what would happen when you put a diverse group of princesses from different times in one room.
ICONIC!!! 🩵🩵🩵
Thanks for playing along everyone!!

Because many girls often see the princesses as role models, I often wonder about the male side of the spectrum and wonder which Disney Prince is your favorite to where you see them as role models and why?
For me, a tie between Flynn Rider and Aladdin as they were two rambunctious guys who lived unstable lives, one as a criminal and the other as a street kid, but still maintained their sense of fun and adventure and taking risks.
To me, their like the troublemakers in school who despite getting on the teachers' nerves, they're so much fun to hang around with and both are lucky to have girls they can relate stick around with and as a bit of a lonely kid, I also related to Aladdin for how much a dreamer he is of wanting to be accepted and having anything he wished for as I was a bit of a lonely kid who had a hard time fitting in.
