Injury claim help.

Hey everyone. Was wondering if anyone may be able to help with an issue I have. In 2017 I went and claimed my neck and lower back among a few other smaller things. Now I never had access to va dot gov or my healthy etc... nothing worked and even the VA had little luck. So I never went back and checked on those claims. Now I remember receiving my letter about the acceptance and the monthly checks, however unless I missed it I never saw what was and wasn't accepted. I was getting a relatively good amount so I never questioned what it was.

Recently 7 years after all that, after filing for my wife and kids as dependants I had a break on VA dot Gov and was finally able to get on. I went through everything looking at what I could and saw that my neck was never even put in. They never added it and everything looked like I never included it. My question is how should I go about adding that and hopefully dating back to when I originally filed it? I was looking to also get an increase on my lower back as I'm now having many difficulties moving around and even working full time hours. However I stopped going to the VA as they're too far away and they don't accept the hospitals closer to me than them.

The new hospital has me on nerve medication and physical therapy, but that wouldn't be in the VAs record to support the increase. I'm not sure how to go about that either. Any help would be very much appreciated thank you.

Grants for veterans education and training

I’m active duty but about to separate, and I have a part 107 drone pilots license. I want to get training on the next level up for licensing but to do that I need a bigger drone that’s out of my price range. Are there any education benefits for this, or grants?

PTSD claim question: decision letter avail but stuck in step 3 w/ exam rework, no other deferred claim

Any ideas? I just got rated 70% for ptsd. However, claim is still in step 3/gathering evidence with a request in for exam rework. I have no other claims so it can’t be anything related to deferred claims.

Anyone have any ideas? I’m hung up on why I would get a rating, but it’s back with the examiner for rework.

Advice much appreciated fellow Vets! :)

Employer help

Hey guys, new here but need some help. I'm service connected with knees and back. My truck has the correct plates and placard to park in the blue, I don't necessarily need it but seeing as I am on my feet for 12-14 hours a day sometimes walking 100 yards less is a God send. Recently a text was sent to all supervisors that we aren't allowed to park in the spots up front (right next to where all my coworkers park) but if we need to park in handicap we can park across the facility in the dedicated handicap employees spot. This would make my walk 4 times as far. Now I'm not a puss but it was the fact that multiple supervisors made snide comments regarding if I'm so broken I shouldn't be there or that I can limp across the lot just fine. What should I do?

FLIGHT SCHOOL QUESTION

Good evening! I am trying to research if there are grants that my daughter can apply for if she wants to go to flight school, here is the background: I am rated 100% Permanent and Total by VA and having a hard time finding work due to my carpal tunnel syndrome on both of my hands. (still waiting on VA to schedule an appointment for surgery or pain meds) anyway my question is currently my daughter is working as Flight attendant but wanted to go to flight school and become a pilot, now her job offers to pay 50% of her tuition since she's been working their for more than a year. she is still stuck with at least $45,000 for tuition. I know DEA is not covering flight school and I don't have post 9/11 GI Bill.

Any Information is greatly appreciated.

Can I get brand new federal student loan discharged if awarded during 100% TPD Med Board process?

I haven’t gotten anything official yet but I’m pretty sure my NARSUM will give me 100% TPD rating. I’m approved for a direct federal student loan but I’m skeptical to accept it now because I’m not sure if it will get discharged since I’m already aware/pending a 100% TPD disability. Is there a time threshold that the loan must meet to get discharged? Will I be alright if I apply for the loan now knowing I’ll be disabled pretty soon essentially finessing the system to get free money. What’s your take?

Is Trajector an Absolute Scam?

I've got a disability rating, but I'm trying to put in a supplemental claim to increase my rating due to injuries I have that the VA has denied as service connected. Another veteran friend of mine recommended Trajector to create the necessary documentation. I've heard a ton of stuff on both extreme ends of the spectrum with regard to their ability to get a percentage increase bases on their process, and I'm aware of the fact that they take a fee if they can get your percentage increased, but I have 2 main concerns: 1) Everyone I talk to there has a very heavy accent, which isn't a concern outside of me wondering if this is a foreign scam, and 2) They're VERY aggressive in trying to get me to sign the documents after just one phone call, which is a HUGE red flag. Has anyone worked with them in the past or gotten any kind of positive outcome with them or a similar service?

Looking for recommendations

Greetings everyone!

I’ve got someone really close to me that is getting hosed by the VA and the run around by the DAV. I’m going to keep their identity hidden due to the sensitivity of the subject.

This person was raped and or sexually assaulted while deployed overseas. To add insult to injury, the effing VA only gave them 30% for a back injury.

They have tried the DAV and they did nothing but screw up her file in DEERS. We also tried to get into contact with a lawyer that was recommended but they haven’t returned any of their calls yet.

They are looking for a lawyer in their home state Arizona. If you could make any recommendations please respond. It would be greatly appreciated.

Backpacking - Disabled Vet

I used to love backpacking. Have chronic pain now (should have been better at PLFs). Does anyone have any recommendations for gear and/or trails in the South East that are worth doing? I know that is an open question.

Question on behalf of my aging parents: services and flooring issues.

First off, thank you all for your service!

My father is 100% disabled, Vietnam vet.

My mom, his dependent, was recently diagnosed with a slow burning type of leukemia, and now the main caregiver for my dad is ailing herself.

I am trying to make sure they have the services they need that could possibly stretch out the time before I take over full time care, or allow my mom some respite from caring for dad so she can rest and possibly enjoy things. Both are around 75 years old.

I’ve heard that there are housekeeping services available and I would like to know if there is a program to help replace their flooring.

My dad had extensive urogenital cancers and prior to surgery, he had several accidents that spoiled their carpets beyond a normal clean up.

PS, to move them to my house would involve living significantly farther from medical facilities for the VA, and of course, they could live another 15-20 years, I want them to have their space in their own home as long as possible.

In the mean time, I will read some of the pinned information regarding local services. Fortunately, benefits are assigned, but there is never enough in this economy.

100% Disabled Vet Harassed at Work

Over the course of a couple months, I was pulled away from my desk and taken aside and informed someone was complaining that I was parking in a handicap spot.

First time I brushed off as ignorance and tried to go about my work, trying not to be “that guy” at work. Second time. I grew more frustrated. Tried to brush off but informed my mgr (navy vet) who was the one pulling me away from my work that this was not kosher and it needs to stop. I started taking note of who’s around when I park, or near my car always checking over my shoulder. Third time, I all but completely lost my shit. He won’t tell me who the person was but told me not the same as the last one. I left the office frustrated, went back to my desk and closed my computer told him I’m done and walked out. This is in a big open office with cubicles and glass offices, everyone within sight saw everything go down. He stopped me, convinced me to just take the day (with pay) and write a letter to HR, which I did.

Spoke to HR two days later, she wants me to speak with the DEAI or whatever acronym they use but the diversity and equity person. She just listens to my complaints about it, looked into it some but also wouldn’t tell me who it was. She kept asking if I wanted to talk to my team about it. It made me feel might be someone actually on my team doing this to me. Without knowing who it was I declined to address only my team on it, but did offer to address the company as a whole. IMO, my mgr should have worked with HR and put a immediate stop to this the first time it happened. Over the next two month, it created such a toxic and anxiety inducing environment. I no longer communicated with anyone unless absolutely necessary, I no longer stood at work, I sat all day cause I didn’t wanna see anybody there. I felt targeted.

I found out 7 people hired after me, two which I trained made more per hour than I did. Being targeted and harassed, the toxic environment it created and then getting paid less was the trifecta and I put in my two weeks. My mgr calls, one whose been pulling me from my work over my parking spot, then tries to gas light me and say it was my fault and I wrote the letter in ref to my two weeks notice.

I file a complaint with the EEOC. During that interview she seems to side with the ex employer. She asked if the handicap spot was reserved for anyone else and if I listed out my disabilities to my employer. I was dumbfounded and responded that I don’t believe I did as it’s not required or feel obligatory to inform of. There were always additional handicap spots next to the one I parked in, but regardless you can’t reserve them. I have a state issued handicap plate with a Disabled Veteran endorsement. I tried to read the decision made from the unemployment office but she told me to stop twice as they don’t care about unemployment. I informed I shouldn’t receive it since I quit but they found during their investigation it was a toxic work environment and granted me the unemployment. I still elected to file the charge but when I received the proof, the info doesn’t reflect accordingly and I only have three days to sign before the time limit, I don’t know if I’d have time for them to make the edits.

Am I losing my mind here but how the hell they both going to make it out to be like it’s my fault?

Disabled vet homeowner programs?

I live in Spokane County WA. and I just bought a house. The process took all of my saved finances and it's looking like money will be tight for a while. I am wondering if there are any programs to help with a shed and/or a Wood stove? If there any assistance programs or non profits to do work for free I would be interested. Thanks for your help

100% Disabled with VA. Need a vasectomy. Is this doable or do I have to go out of pocket?

My parents suggested condoms and I can't fuckin live like that. We have a toddler now and definitely dont want more. How can i do this? The healthevet app sucks bad. . .

Question About Rating Increase

I separated in 2007. I'm currently rated 50% for carpal tunnel in both wrists along with De Quervain's tenosynovitis or pain in the tendons of my right thumb. I've had this rating since 2017. However not long after receiving this rating, I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. Something which can cause carpal tunnel syndrome.

Can I claim my RA as a disability even though I was diagnosed after I separated?

Service related — civilian care or VA?

Service related injuries — civilian coverage or VA?

I have a service related injury that I have been nursing for about 10 years. Initially I was traveling overseas for work a ton and didn’t have time to get the ball rolling with care. Now it is debilitating and has gotten significantly worse (40-50 dislocated shoulder incidents + resetting it myself). I have a current rating for this single injury at 20%.

Since getting out, I’ve heard of some changes in the way the the VA handles care for service related injuries (choose your own doctor?). I’ve also heard that coordinating care through the VA is a nightmare. I’m not sure what is true and what isn’t.

I’m not worried about the financial impact of civilian care. The trade off seems to be the ability to choose my doctor and less hassle VS the near zero cost of coverage but potentially lower quality care from the VA.

Should I go the civilian care route? VA? Will insurance deny coverage is it’s covered by the VA? What are my options and what resources should I use to gather information.

Opiod Shortage

Greetings everyone. Is anyone else having difficulties getting pain meds? I am on hydrocodone, and no pharmacy in my entire county has any. They have told me they haven't had any for a month now, with no expectations of getting some anytime soon. I am seriously not looking forward to running out completely for the first time in over a decade...
