TCL 65 inch tv model HDR LED Smart Roku TV - 65S41 can't program with directv remote. Anyone figure it out?
Tonight, friends tipped me off about an exciting football game that had run into multiple overtimes. However, I could not find it by looking at Sports Central, not by searching on a team name. I finally found out what network it was on and got to it that way.
Isn't there any good way to do this on DirecTV without looking elsewhere for the info?
My local affiliate keeps dropping out, intermittently for days now. All the other "local" network channels seem fine. Is DTV going resolve this w/out trying to upsell me (or somehow making it my fault)? Anybody know any shortcuts through tech support? How much time should I allot for being on hold?
I see league pass is on sale as expected for $55
Torn between getting from Directv satellite and the NBA directly ,
Can anyone confirm that there’s no issues (glitches) like years past in being able to log into the app on an Apple TV or iPad if you’re using the subscription from Directv satellite ?
I live in a zip code that has 3 different counties. 2 of them have local channels out of the Grand Rapids viewing market and 1 out of Lansing. I live less than 150yds from the county line but unfortunately I get the Lansing Market channels in my line up however the Grand Rapids market channels are more relevant to me. Has anyone had any luck convincing Directv to switch markets within the same Zip Code?
DirecTV gave me a Gemini receiver to co-locate with my Genie receiver, but after setting it up, the image is kind of zoomed in. Like it's cut off just a tad bit on all 4 sides, so I can't see the full image.
Can anyone help?
En la plataforma DirecTV Go, ¿se encuentran disponibles los partidos de las finales de la Copa Davis (2024) para ver en diferido?
So we have the (2) H24's in our house. I wanted to upgrade our boxes and the rep of course ... only sent us one (a C51-500). I chatted with CS again, and they told me to just resend it back (after showing them a photo of the box that was sent to us, etc. missing the second receiver box) and that they'll cancel the upgrade order (of course they were charging a little extra to swap out the boxes).
A few weeks later, we get our bill and of course, we're being charged for non-returned equipment.
Reached out to CS via chat, said they would fix it. Finally got an email about the returned equipment.
Unfortunately, it looked like our bill hasn't reflected the credit yet.
Reached out to CS for a third time to resolve the issue, telling them that they never sent us the second receiver, and letting them now I'll be short paying based on the "credit" that they should be applying.
Crossing my fingers the 3rd time is a charm but g'lord, it's like pulling teeth with pliers. 😒
I just realized my trip overseas is going to extend until February. I would like to suspend my DirectTV service for two months which seems to be allowed but one must call them to do so. I am unable to get a call through to their toll free numbers (866-809-6788, 800-531-5000), assuming they only take calls from within the US. Anyone have another number for me to try?
I work odd hours, so for many years I always record NFL Redzone and watch most of it later. But for the past two weeks when I've recorded NFL Redzone, I watched about 2 hours of it, and then saved the rest for the morning, but the recording is always completely blank when I go back to resume the recording, from start to finish, just a blank screen, even the stuff I already watched. I wonder if there is some new contractual agreement for them to wipe all recordings of Redzone after midnight or something? 🤔 or if it's an equipment issue perhaps, but all my other recordings are fine.
Wonder if anyone else has noticed this, thanks!
Senior Citizen here with limited knowledge on TVs so be easy on me!! Long time DTV customer with dish and an older non smart TV. Looks like TV on the way out and will need to replace with a smart TV. Will I still use the wall hook up to TV and receiver or I will log into my network without the physical hookup? Using an old RC-7 remote-will then need to program remote with new tv? Thanks for any help-hope my questions aren't too confusing.
She watches wheel and jeopardy, and once in a blue moon a TMC movie.
She is too old to figure out streaming and is used to live tv.
Hello directv redditors! I'm doing my annual tech support visit to my out of state 75+y/o parents and this year's top complaint is the tv situation - too complicated, can't find their shows/games, can't easily record like "before", etc. I'm a cordcutter myself, but wary to move them in that direction given that I won't be around past this week to help them through the learning curve or troubleshoot issues myself.
What advice can you share or point me to for improving their directtv experience? Do I need to configure these boxes better? Upgrade/replace them? Is it hopeless and time to move on?
Here's the setup:
So I cancelled my Direct TV service and when I was returning the equipment via the shipping label. The shipping-person there stopped me and said "Hey so a lot of people who have come and returned their equipment have had issues you need to keep that receipt." I told him thank you added it to my Google stack and left.
A month later I get 2 emails and a charge to my card on file for $132 dollars saying my equipment never got returned and that I had filed for an equipment replacement(???). I started getting sus that they were just doing this to everyone who cancelled because you'd have difficulty proving you shipped it since we throw away receipts. I sent them my receipt and they refunded the money. I am still in shock.
I have three old boxes that I deactivated because I haven't watched them in years. DTV said I can keep or recycle the boxes.
Is there anyway to watch those shows on my computer if I just take out the hard drive? I understand that I can probably keep the boxes and just hook them to my computer when I want to watch something, but there are only a couple movies on each box I want to keep, and to keep all three boxes in a closet on the off chance I will someday watch those movies seems like a lot of wasted space.
Now that Directv has a bunch of free channels, I downloaded the app. It went like this.
Me: Hey here's my old Directv login from before I dumped you. App: Oh yeah we know you. Here, sign into your AT&T account. Me: ... pfft ...fine ... App: Great. Now sign back into Directv. Me: Okaaaay ... App: What's your user ID again? Me: Seriously...? App: And what's your password again? Me: Omg App: And what's your user ID again? Me: You @!%$*^$@ App: And what's your password again? Me: [rage switch to reddit]
After having no option but to tolerate the notoriously janky menu update of several months ago, I see that in the last day, an updated software package with additional “New” menu items has been pushed. It appears - and I certainly hope so - that the frustrating DVR playback issues and the Replay button disfunction have been corrected.
Thanks to all who called - although it probably didn’t make any difference.
Football is now watchable again.
This is a notice/reminder to check any important recordings you have a lot of episodes of on your DVR, as i got no warning this was gonna happen to my recordings
I'm a Directv satellite customer with an HR54 receiver & i don't know if something got auto changed during a software update or what, but i had at least 3 & 1/2 seasons (most of which i had yet to watch for the first time) of a show i really liked on the DVR forever, that i KNOW i had set to keep "All Episodes" & "Until i Delete it"
Tonight i checked the DVR & it said 62% free space remaining (when it usually says 15-35%) & then i notice it says 5 episodes of that show instead of however many episodes there were before that... checked the series manager thing for that show & see this 💩(pictured, i immediately changed it back to All episodes upon discovering this) when i know i NEVER personally set it to only 5 episodes at any point. Now im missing at least 3 & 1/2 seasons of a show, have 5 random recently recorded episodes of it i care about way less than the ones that got deleted, & feel a lil bit physically ill about it atm
There is a severe disconnect between marketing and call centers. I got an ad on my DirecTV saying to call 855-595-0344 and save $120 on upgrading to Gemini. I read the conditions and clearly qualified, so I called the number. The people at the call center said I have to have received a letter from you too. I said why would you need to advertise to me about this promotion if I had to have a letter first? They, of course, could not answer. They were just doing their job (BTW, I spoke to a supervisor, too), so I am just letting it go until I get a letter (which could be a while).
By the way, we are a 10-year customer with 4 TVs on the Genie 2 system, but we are not that pleased because it will not get 4K, so I thought this would work for us.
Does anyone know who I could call, and am I out of luck?
I called to cancel to DirecTV after 9 years with the full intention of canceling and switching to YouTube TV. I already had a “lifetime” $25 off discount due to my phone or phone internet plan. I was transferred to VIP support and offered $37 more off for two years to get the bill closer to YTTV. I guess it depends on the agent but I appreciate them making an effort to keep me as a customer for a while longer.
I've been getting calls nearly every day for a week from this number. Just now I answered and waited for someone to speak. Finally someone came on the line and said she was calling on behalf of DirecTV. I'm pretty sure it's a scam so I didn't respond, I just hung up.
A google search of the number shows it's been used for various scams but the only thing that makes me question it is the consistency of the caller's number and the persistence. They usually give up calling after a couple tries and often they spoof different phone numbers.
Still, I'm almost positive it's not anyone really calling on behalf of DirecTV.
After installing a Roku device on our old LG TV, the DirecTV remote would no longer work. This prevented us from watching TV over satellite since all Roku viewing is done via streaming over internet WiFi. We have HughsNet satellite internet which is metered and very expensive so it was critical to be able to view TV using the DirecTV satellite. I finally found the following steps within DirecTV support (https://www.directv.com/support/article/000092856).
My mom has DTV and she can't get passed this screen on her TV. What gives? She's 900+miles away so I can't just go look at it.
I am using a satellite feed for my set top boxes. I’m a big fan of hockey and one of the main reasons I use direct tv. Had the same setup over 5 years with no issue. This year watching hockey has been miserable because I feel like I’m watching at 5 fps. Everything jumps from one frame to the next where the puck seems to skip along vs move smoothly. When I watch regular shows this doesn’t appear to be happening. Can anyone give me suggestions of what to look for to find a fix?
