Hi:) i’m looking to get into digital art. I want to get some kind of tablet with a pen and the type of digital art I’m thinking of is the kind where it’s like painting acrylic, oil, watercolour etc. but digitally. Hope that makes sense! So, my question is: are there any tablets just for making art? Or should i get an ipad and then get an app for making the art? If yes, then which app?
Thank you in advance:)
I use my fingers to draw on my phone cause I'm broke but I'm kinda tired of it now.
And to turn my traditional drawings into digital, I have to redo the entire lineart by tracing it (which isn't bad I'm just lazy). Adjusting contrast, brightness and other edits on the pic can work but I don't know if I'll be getting a good authentic quality.
How do you guys do this?
Done in Procreate! My biggest issue was figuring out the shadows. I don’t normally place my light source in the middle of a piece like this so getting the shadow directions right was pretty confusing.
Hello Reddit people, I am a digital artist and I started very recently to sell my art online and charge commissions, it is new to me, the thing is that I started using PayPal for the first time and the payments that were transferred to me were held and I do not know how to solve it someone could give me some advice and as I do not know how to use PayPal I would like you know it is possible that I am scammed can the customer make a Will the payment disappear if you don't fix it?, Should I worry about the refund?
I'm looking to upgrade from my Wacom Intuos, but I'm feeling a little overwhelmed with the options so I was hoping for some advice. So far I am torn between 4 option (like I said... overwhelmed):
- XPPen Artist Pro 16 £529.99
- HUION 2022 Kamvas Pro 16 2.5K £529.00
- Wacom Cintiq 16 £653.46
- Apple 2022 10.9-inch iPad Air £649.00
The XPPen and Huion seem very similar, and I don't have experience with either company. I was just going to get the Wacom, but it seems way more expensive for worse specs? The iPad I threw in because I know a lot of people enjoy using them, though I'm personally not sure the extra expense would be worth it for me. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hi, i have an ipad pro and id love to get into digital art specifically background and scenery, ofc id later want to learn to draw characters too. I have no clue how to start or where to start and what to expect. I have procreate and have messed around with it so I have a general understanding of how it works. I was hoping you guys could provide me with free resources and tips.
Online people talk about how you need to have a 300 PPI or whatever for making prints, but I don't get why the number actually matters. Is there actually a difference between a 3840x2400 image at 300 PPI and one at 100 PPI if they are going to both be printed on the same size paper?
I’ve been curious about digital art forever and finally bought a cheaper drawing tablet a few months ago and decided to give it a try. It’s been awesome to be able to really let go and allow art to happen without the giant mess or expensive supplies. This is one of my favorites so far. I call it “Chillin with my bitches”
what are the best?
I was trying to sketch on Krita but it is very confusing like whattbrush to choose and how to sketch like first rough work then neatly try to make the rough sketch with proper lines which consumes lots of time then regular sketching...
I don't know how to sketch properly means rules of digital drawing.
2. Then coloring with different layers is overwhelming in the beginning. alpha lock or
clipping bit confusing on YouTube
I want YouTube recommendations and guides I want to learn to sketch and color with proper lighting and shading..like how to merge colors.
Any guide pls share.
I own an XP-pen Artist 13 pro, and although the tablet is great, I'm not a fan of the stylus that was included with it. I'm more fond of the slim and slick design, something like the Apple Pencil 1&2, so I'm wondering if anyone knows of a stylus that is compatible with this specific tablet, and can be bought at a reasonable price ($20 - $50).
Hi everyone, I would like to buy an iPad in the near future for drawing and I wanted to ask for some “custom”recommendations. I have already looked around this platform and saw some older answers but most of them were for professional artists.
I am not a professional, I mostly draw anime for fun and have always been a traditional artist. I previously tried to get a Wacom graphic tablet but I made the wrong choice of getting one without a display and could never get the hang of it, so I was thinking it would be better to just get an iPad at this point.
I am not looking for the absolutely best options as I said I am not a professional and will most likely never get to earn my bread with this hobby, but I wouldn’t like to be too limited either and get the cheapest versions I could find.
Does anyone have any recommendation? Also, what are some important specifications it should have for a smooth experience? I saw on some other posts that having a high RAM and accepting many pen types would be some important aspects, but what else could there be?
Thank you, have a lovely day! ❤️
I have been drawing everyday for almost a year so i tried getting into it digitally but there is so much difference. I dont really know why. If its the smooth screen feeling wrong or it being too pixelated. Will i just never get into it or should i draw completely different from pen and ink?
As the title says, does anyone know of any android app that features a vector brush? Essentially, I'm looking for an app where your brush stroke turns immediately into a vector, including taking into account pen pressure strength. It would improve work flow and efficiency immensely.
I just recently bought a drawing tablet because I wanted to get good at drawing. I always loved drawing I just never took the time to get good at it or practice it. Now that I am trying to take it more serious I don't know where to start. I don't know what to try learning first or what I should and shouldn't do. Also I am trying to draw anime nothing too realistic. I have been watching videos on how to get better and what to do but none of them really help. They all just say to practice and draw a lot. Im sure that is true but I dont know what to draw or what to learn. Any advice would mean the world to me.
So lately I've been doing art styles studies to try and develop my own art style. And I found an artist that has really nice lineart that I want to do myself. But I have no idea how I would practice it besides just tracing with no idea how lineart process works. I've tried looking on YouTube and all the videos I've seen say to find out what I like about ones art styles but not really how to practice one specific element.
Hey everyone! I hope this question isn’t asked every day, but I’m looking for recommendations for tablets with a screen to practice drawing concept art for my partner’s video game projects. I was considering just getting an ipad and apple pencil, but if there are more cost effective options please comment below! I’m also not sure what program I’ll be using as I’m a beginner in digital arts so I appreciate any feedback/useful information. Thanks!
