So for context, I'm learning how to paint digitally and are currently on studying values. I think I somewhat nailed it but I want to improve on the areas highlighted in circle. I want to make it more interesting and more painterly looking. Thank you for anyone that can provide feedback!
I have one folder that I use ike a sketchbook and keep saving a page for every day but I noticed that's probably not the most efficient way to do it.
Now I'm wondering how does everyone else organise their sketchs and studies?
Hi, im struggling with an art block. I know how to draw on paper, but when i get to my tablet its getting worse and worse?:,) i draw for about 3/4 year on tablet. the line art is getting a lil better, but painting is just threat for me. mainly when i try to paint portrait or anathomy. maybe its because i have always drawn more than have painted idk. any tips for getting better with digital painting? maybe i use wrong brushes or techniques?
I've always been doing traditional art and it seems to me that I should try other mediums too but I don't have any idea about digital art so I would appreciate any advices regarding it.
What art apps do you use for mobile? Trying to move out of physical for convenience sake. Preferably free as I'm just getting my feet wet.
If anyone wants some art apps that don't have monthly subscriptions, and instead have a one time purchase, there is a bundle of corel art apps on Humble Bundle. The price is great for what you get and there are options to pay less if you don't need everything in the bundle. Its been a while since I've used corel products, but I've purchased this to show support for one time purchases because I hate the subscription model that adobe uses.
Hi, Everyone. I started as a Software Developer and became a Digital Product Designer (designing web and mobile application interfaces and user experiences). I have always wanted to learn to draw digital illustrations but am scared and hesitant to jump into it, thinking whether I will be able to commit to it or not.
Any help will be greatly appreciated
Hi all, I'm new to digital illustration/painting and started doing a few pieces in the last few months on my iPad Pro. I'm not sure if this is normal but my eyes feel super super dry and tired after drawing on it, even though I have my brightness set to medium or low, and I have good room lighting.
My question is, is this typical for any type of tablet (iPad, Wacom, XPPen, etc) or does the display differ? My main priority is preserving my eyesight (already pretty bad astigmatism) so reducing eye strain any way I can would be helpful.
Any tips or opinions would be appreciated.
Update: I appreciate all the helpful comments! I don't understand why I got downvoted? But thank you for everyone who gave constructive advice!!
I am looking to get my husband a portable tablet while he is on work trips where he is gone for months at a time, it needs to be able to be used without a computer and needs to have a screen. I know that the iPad is a good product as I have one myself but my husband refuses to use Apple products, specifically due to an issue with his apple ID he had happen last year after he got rid of his iPhone(essentially Apple refused to let him log in and cancel subscriptions and they didn’t allow him to recover his account either even when we attempted the account recovery)
He is only just getting into digital art so doesn’t need to be super fancy, he wants to be able to draw on the screen and he needs to be able to operate the device without internet connection.
hello, I´m looking to buy a new drawing pad but can't decide, so fat I think I am between the Honor magic pad 2 an the xp pen magic drawing pad.
Does anyone know what would be best? or if there is an other one I missed for a similar price?
Thanks in advance.
Hi everybody! I’ve creating physical art my entire life (mainly charcoal, graphite, and fine liners) and have always been interested in digital art but never had the opportunity to try just due to my age and the expense of getting a device. As Christmas is nearing I’ve been considering asking my family for money towards a device/tablet but I’m unsure on where to start.
What would you guys recommend? Id prefer something I can buy in store (I’m in Australia) that won’t cost me an arm or a leg. Im really interested in creating my own manga and would love something that would help with that.
I know essential nothing about digital art so any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
So, I've been using my huion tablet, one of the ones thats just a drawing pad with no built in screen, for like 8 years and it's served me well but it's starting to have some lag and overall I just want to upgrade. I want to get a tablet where you just draw directly on the screen itself. I'm not looking for anything fancy, just something affordable and functional (preferably no more then $200 if possible). What's the best tablet that fits my needs here? Tysm!
I'm working with and iPad Air and using Apple Pencil gen 3 but kinda bored of it... Do you know any GREEEEAT alternative to use it instead?
To add more context when I draw in paper, always love to buy new pencils, try another brand, etc... I'm the kind of person that get bored easily heheh
Update: Using Procreate as main software... "Trying" Fresko as an alternative.
