i’ve read up on the lore recently and i’m not sure if i’m missing something; but lilith was stronger than the nephalim, no? or did she lose power somehow? If the wonderer was able to defeat lilith, which the nephalim couldn’t do, does that not make the wonderer stronger than the nephalim?
It’s been a while since I’ve done a deep dive into the intricacies of the Diablo lore, so if I misremember anything, forgive me.
My question is if we really know the fate of members of the Angiris Council when they are killed. To my recollection, Tyrael was killed at the end of Diablo II when he destroyed the Worldstone. This would explain why he had the argument with Imperius in Diablo III that led to his defection 20 years after the fact. My understanding was that when an angel dies, whatever the proper verbiage is, their essence is absorbed back into the Crystal Arch, and at some point it will spawn a new angel. Is it a different angel? If so, are Archangels the exception given what apparently happened to Tyrael?
Another reason I ask about Archangels is because the Great Conflict has been going on for eons. Are we to believe none of the Angiris Council was killed in all that time? I guess you could say the Council as we know it is just the current embodiments of their respective aspects, but new Archangels rose to that place after an old one was killed. But there’s no hint of this I’m aware of in the Diablo lore. So I’m forced to conclude, based on the evidence of which I’m currently aware, that an Archangel will respawn back as themselves.
Is there anything we know that contradicts this?
Secondly, can I assume we don’t know what would happen in the case of Inarius, Tyrael, and Malthael? I assume so, because Inarius isn’t an Archangel, Tyrael gave up his angelic essence and took on humanity, and Malthael was corrupted. All 3 died (I assume Tyrael’s dead, but even if not, he will die eventually as a mortal) under special circumstances.

I create all the art (mostly from chapter 2 and forward), some of the music and sound effects and narrarate it. Admittedly the first few chapters are me still learning and improving the process. I feel that I've definitely been improving with each chapter.
Ik there's zakarumites arounf the swamps in the south but... What about Tristram and Westmarch, they were followers of the light and kinda stated as being part of the Zakarum church, did Inarius went out of his way to convert them too

Is there a option that Lilith will revive again? I'm very curious bcs i like her and if there was a option I would join her
I noticed Sorcerer uses Mana now. In D3 they used Arcane Power. Are there lore implications between them or are they the same thing?
In HotS Li Ming (the sorcerer character) mocks Warcraft mages for still using Mana.
EDIT: I'm an idiot, D3 had a Wizard, not a Sorcerer.
...God? In the Diablo universe that would be Anu from what I've read. Yes ludicrious claim, statement or thought even and more than likely completely untrue and just plain ridiculous.
But his reaction to Donan dying and asking him; "Was it enough? Will he think it was enough?"
Lorath's reaction in that moment, said with utter conviction made me think Donan was asking if 'God' will think what he did was enough and Lorath's response put the thought in my head of God walking amongst his creations to see/feel what it is like to live as one of them.
When neyrelle is escaping with mephisto hes trapped in the crystal. How did he open a portal from them to leave? Or did someone else open a portal?
Hello The lore may exsist But was curious if anyone knows. Since when Prime evil's and lesser Evil's die they are reformed overtime and remember everything and for all intents the same being. I believe when Arch angels die then a new arch angel will be formed for that aspect(holds the same values as its previous one but a different Angel so to speak). Then does that mean The High Council will be stronger in the future due to getting replacements for the dead Malthael, The dead Tyreal(i think hes dead). And the dead Inarius(dead is different from being tortured since he still exsist). Sorry if its not clear what I am asking. Just curious if we will end up with a full power High council at some point?
So having now completed the D4 campaign I'm left feeling Lilith did little wrong and you're told constantly to distrust her but are presented with nothing to say she was lying about anything.
I can't think of a single human she directly killed herself and she only empowered those that willingly agreed to follow her.
The only motives we know we're to empower humans to be able to fight the primal evils and a goal to replace mephisto. Meanwhile we've now dissipated her and taken Mephisto out of hell and into Sanctuary, I'm left frustrated it's not an RPG with choices.
This is slightly off topic but I'm not sure where to start looking. I am completely in love with the lore and story of Diablo. I started getting prepped about a month ago for Diablo 4. I never played D1 or D2 and I didn't pay very close attention to the D3 story. But after doing some research I found out how amazing the Diablo lore is.... And after beating D4 last night.... I'm devastated it's over (for now). But now I'm craving something like it. So... Do you know of any novels that capture some of the dark fantasy that Diablo has?
Hi, I’m a long time wow player and wow lore enjoyer. Honestly never really paid much attention to Diablo but seeing the D4 release, the cineamtics, and learning about the lore has got me intrigued!
Can anyone recommend some videos / places to start to learn it all !!
Thanks
Reading the lore across the internet I ended up a bit confused about The Dark Exile and the Soulstones creation.
It is said that the Prime Evils let themselves to be exiled on purpose to get imprisoned in the soulstones and corrupt it from within after they captured Izual and learned about it.
However it is also said that the Soulstones were created by Tyrael to contain the Prime Evils essence by the first Horadrim because they were roaming Sanctuary, implying that they were created AFTER the Dark Exile.
I didn't read the novels (actually i'm reading The Scales of The Serpent from the Sin War Trilogy) and I couldn't find anywhere any material clarifying the timeline regarding the conceiving/motivation of the Soulstones. It seems more plausible that they were created (or being created) before the Dark Exile, if so, what motivated Tyrael to create it?
