Any post in violation of reddiquette, especially brigading, witch-hunting, vote manipulation, flamebaiting or intentional rudeness will be removed. Harassment of others is strictly forbidden. We will not tolerate any kind of incitement to action or hate speech against anyone.
Screen shots of Reddit, Facebook, Youtube and other website's comments and discussions should have all identifying names removed. Celebrities, Eidos Interactive and Square Enix employees acting in official capacity are the exception.
NSFW content must be tagged as such. Likewise do not mark your post as NSFW unless it actually is NSFW. Remember what NSFW means, if its on the line, play it safe.
If your post contains any plot points, mark it as a spoiler, in accordance with the information below. If you don't or you forget to, the moderators will remove it and you can repost it. The same goes for comments, the exception being comments on a post already tagged as spoilers.
All content must be relevant to the Deus Ex franchise or the activities of Eidos Montreal. Unrelated content, reposts, concern trolling, low-effort or especially unoriginal content will be removed at moderator discretion.
Posts that contain memes, low value, and/or low effort content that don't bring any value to the topic of the subreddit can be removed by the moderators if they deem that the post doesn't meet the quality required. This includes posts that could have been a reply in an already existing thread or post.
These posts include subjects such as:
- Questions and offtopic comments that would be better reserved for the FAQ or Monthly Community post
- Blurry or otherwise unreadable images
- Cross-posts from other subs that are not directly related to the Deus Ex franchise
- Images, memes, and photos that are not directly related to the Deus Ex franchise (ex. generic memes, random unrelated photographs and news, low effort edits)
We will also ask the users to post no more than one Meme/Fluff post per day. If you have made a lot of edits, please consider bundling them in one "roundup" post.
We encourage you to use /r/dayofsex, our sister subreddit dedicated to Deus Ex memes.
Posts that contain AI generated content are banned. If you are a creator using an AI trained on your own creations, please contact the moderators first.
In short, doing so is not allowed. Deleting and resubmitting a post because it has not gotten enough upvotes is not okay - please only submit your post only once. In case that it looks like the post is not visible at all, please message the mods. Sometimes reddit holds posts back due to low karma, account age, or some other variable only known to reddit. We will look into it if the post needs manual approval.
Breach of these rules may result in a warning or you may be banned permanently, it is up to the moderators and their word is final.
You may see Eidos Interactive and Square Enix employees on this sub. Remember they are people too and are covered by the rules, the same as anyone.
If your post doesn't show up immediately it might have been caught by the spam bot, in which case, message the moderators.

Now I get it...
breach shouldve been a mobile game. its kinda fun but most of these levels are ASSSSSS
This is such a niche post, I'm throwing it out as a hail mary in case anyone else also gets what I'm saying. I've recently been listening to Peter Gabriel's album The Last Temptation and most of the tracks in the album remind me of the video game series Deus Ex. A lot of the tracks remind me of the original Deus Ex (2000) and some of the tracks remind me of tracks from the later games Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. The tracks are so similar that I am losing my mind trying to find what the connection between the two could be.
Is there any connection between Peter Gabriel and the Deus Ex video game series? Was the album a source of inspiration for the music in the game?
(Cross posted the same in r/petergabriel )
Just started Mankind....after the bombing...went to see Koller. After that visit I was given 13 praxoius....after activating several they still do not appear in my quick menu. In the very beginning of the game I had 4 Augs I could use....the eye...the leg thing....the twirly bombs. Now I only have the eye....and can find no way to bring my activated Augs to my quick menu.... Really enjoying this game....but it's little things like this that make people just get so frustrated...they stop playing....please don't let that be me....any help would be appreciated... I'm playing on a ps4 if that help✌🏼
Didnt know they were chill like this in china. Chills🥶
So, running through IW for the first time, just installed Spy Drone as my first black market mod, but when I activate it I get insanely loud screaming static in my headphones.
Pretty sure I'm gonna constantly trigger that and forget that it's coming and scare the shit out of myself repeatedly. Anyone ever run into this?
Hi there! I'm about to play Deus Ex, and I was wondering which way you enjoy playing. I have the GOTY edition and I'm mulling playing Revision (as original as possible) or maybe Kentie's Launcher.
Could you kindly share your guidance? Thank you!
EDIT: I will go with Kentie. Thanks to this nice community!
I know it is a long shot, but it would be nice.
Hello folks, welcome to the r/DeusEx community thread Winter/Q4 2024 Edition!
Not much is happening on the Deus Ex franchise front. Last we heard from Eidos, Embracer had shelved a new Deus Ex project and that was it for now.
If you're having trouble running DX1 on your PC, it is recommended to download the Vanilla Fixer that will configure the game for you.
Last but not least, please take a look at our FAQ page for more info (very important before posting, as we get many posts addressing the exact same topic recently). For PC tech help, the PC Gaming Wiki is a great place to start because it lists the most common problems and solutions.
The Halloween season seems to be extended this year. Please take care of yourselves - it's not the end of the world. Yet.
I'm doing my first run on DE: GOTY, loving it so far.
I just exited Versalife in Honk Kong. Upon discovering very interesting information in one of their computers down in the secret labs, the whole place got into high alert and my cover was blown. At first i was letting the scientists go, but as i progressed further and saw the research they were doing there, it felt righteous to murder every single homo sapiens down there.
The only survivors were the captive crazy in the cells and the dude working overnight that gave me the code to the lab, according to him that job was cursed and he was probably gonna get killed by the higher ups soon, but i also felt somewhat simpathetic to him, seemed honest.
I was ready to let the other people in the ground level go, but as soon as they spotted me the guards and even the secretary went for the gun, i had no choice.
Right or wrong?
Please avoid spoilers if possible, i never asked for this. I will understand if it isn't possible to actually answer this without giving spoilers though.
I know that Biomods are the evolution of nano augmentation . However the details of what Biomods can do outside a gameplay aspect are bit vague other then saying it changes the body physically at a biomolecular level.
“You want this stinking rathole? You got it.”
Basically the title. What's your hot take or unpopular opinion about Deus Ex? My hot take is this: The story from Invisible War is better as the one from the first game. Don't mind the gameplay, it's just bad. But storywise? It's really interesting and the endings have more weight as in the original one.
I'm guessing most of us love this series, but all gems have their flaws. If you could have changed something or several things about each game you played what would the biggest ones.
Deus Ex:
Deus Ex: Invisible War:
Deus Ex: Human Revolution:
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided:
Deus Ex and Death Stranding are the same universe? 🤔
Has anyone else ever ACCIDENTALLY slapped the shit out of Cassandra Reed after completing the Motherly Ties quest? Let’s just say… I had to load my latest autosave…
