I'm looking for parts as a gift. The Grimsly Manor lights don't flash anymore and the sound no longer work at all. I was wondering if anyone knows which parts on their website are compatible or what I can do, TIA!
Hi everyone! I'm new to this - started with a Dept. 56 Halloween collection inherited from my mom and am starting a Christmas village this year. I'm interested in the New England Village set, but can't tell if the newer pieces will match the older ones.
If one is from the "Heritage Collection New England Village", will it match one labeled just "New England Village," but that isn't from the Heritage Collection?
EDIT: One follow-up question - will pieces from the "Heritage Collection New England Village" match other ones from the overall "Heritage Collection"?
It seems like some of the pre-90's ones might be different than some of the newer ones.
Thank you so much!
I’m going to have a village of about 8-10 buildings. How big of a space do I need to display on a table? Can I do it with a 2’x4’ table? The space I’m working with is a living room corner about 58 in wide.
Hello- I just registered for an online account with Dept. 56 and have a few things in my cart but wondering if they ever send out discount codes? I see that option at checkout but not finding much online. Thanks in advance!
Do y’all only use Dept 56 Landscaping and Accessories? If not, what are the best trees to go with a Dickens Village.( Lemax, An Amazon retailer etc.) I have 8-9 buildings so need plenty different types of trees.
Found three years ago, been on my mind since. The tag said “2001 grimsly” but it does NOT match the grimsly manor snow globe.
I bought this at a flea market and didnt realize it did not have the ford flag, sign and lights for the outside. I have no clue where to get these. I checked the 56 site but no luck.
I think I want a model train to go with the New Englad Village, can someone who knows trains give me some advice? I don't know what kind of train would fit the time period, (which I think is maybe Victorian or Edwardian? I don't know my history very well lol) and I don't know what scale I need. Thanks in advance!
Greetings!
I have two pieces I have to sit out for Halloween, a little red riding hood piece and a spider chasing after a man wrapped up in spider web. They're both very similar in their bases.
The plastic that the magnets move under is very loud, loud clicking, and I was curious if anybody ever had to deal with that and were able to soften the noise. I hope this is an appropriate question for this Reddit.
Thanks in advance.
I have some lamp posts that I want to mod to remove the bulky C Battery box and just leave the connector to plug into an adapter. Just looking for any advice before I start cutting wires. Thanks
The bulb burned out of the moon- I replaced the bulb with a diode but the adapter is 500 Mc and I need an adapter with 20 mv.
Any help appreciate
Dennis

Hi,
My mom gave me this Department 56 fiber optic pumpkin head but sadly the lightbulb went out last year :(
I'm trying to figure out how to replace it. Is it as simple as getting a 12V 10W halogen bulb from Homedepot or elsewhere and replacing it? This set up looks complicated and I don't know what I'm doing. Sadly, Department 56 no longer sells these replacement bulbs on their website, I've already checked there. This pumpkin head was manufactured in 2001 and the tag is still attached so the product number is 56. 34487
Any advice on changing the bulb/finding a replacement would be helpful! I love this pumpkin head and would love to get it lit up again by Halloween
Like the title there hasn’t been new released in years. Confused what happened.
I am a newbie to Christmas villages and this is my first year that I will be starting to collect my village! I am wondering if people mix and match the various department 56 villages or if you pick one and stick with it?
Does anyone know where we can get purple replacement bulbs for Haloween village pieces, like one of the witches hat? We were told Dept. 56 doesn't make them any more.
Hi, all. I just inherited a few North Pole buildings and there are many cracks and pieces missing. What paint do you recommend I use to repair them? Thank you so much!
Hi everyone, I have a 2021 Haunted Mansion (the Disneyland one) and it won’t light. I’ve replaced the power plug and still nothing. Does anyone know how to access wiring?
There is a ceramic cap on the bottom that I cannot get off without busting it… unless someone knows a trick. Thanks in advance.
Do any of you blend Department 56 with Lemax pieces for your collections? And would any of you happen to have this Lemax piece (or, for that matter, any rare wolf piece)? I’ve been looking everywhere and could really use some help! https://www.lemaxcollection.com/retired/holidays-seasons/table-accents/wolf-pack-03842
My grandmother was a serious collector who only kept her stuff in boxes so I've never actually seen any of these figurines in real life. I am to inherit one series and I get to pick which one I want. Which one would you choose and why?
I am unfamiliar with Dept. 56. A friend is helping to sell her parent's Dept. 56 items. I was wondering if anyone could suggest a collector group or good antique dealer in the central Maryland area. Or welcome any other suggestions. Thanks!
I don’t think this is against the rules (absolutely delete, otherwise). Have probably 150+ Department 56 items listed (but we’ll say 100+ conservatively) and more to do from my mom’s old collection. Have a perfect seller rating, next day shipping, and free returns. Happy to combine shipping and willing to work a deal if everything is outside of EBay and payment through PayPal (you’re protected, fewer fees for me). Just contact me and we can figure it out.
Also live in the Greenville, SC area. Open to meeting locally for free shipping. Willing to meet out a little further based on what’s bought. I’m flexible.
Thank you!
Hey everyone,
This is a bit of a plea for help.
My aunt who I love dearly has issues with hoarding. Due to this, she is having to sell her home to pay debts etc.
She has reached the point where even her most prizes collection - her department 56 christmas village - has to be sold.
There's are probably 50-75 items that may range from the 80s to present day. A lot from the north pole series, and I think the original Christmas as well.
My dad is helping with everything else, but my one responsibility is to make sure I act in her best interest with the village items. I want to make what I can for the sake of paying off debt and anything that has no value I can clean and keep for her sake sentimentally.
Right now all the pieces are stored in the garage. My plan is to take good photos of them all including boxes (some must never have been opened), as well as categorize them in a spreadsheet. I was going to do this in a Google drive so I can share with anyone who's interested.
I've read that the best method is to find the value of each individual piece and try to sell on eBay. I would love to find someone who could get the whole set at a significant discount, but I have no idea what anything is worth. I'm in Canada, so although shipping may be more, the currency hopefully can work in a US buyers favour?
Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.
I loved her village growing up and I think it's a very sweet and wholesome community, but the way I'm looking at it is this collection is playing a role in helping her through this challenging time.
Thanks in advance
