Such a solid and heartfelt episode. The A, B, and C stories are so good.

A: Cam and Maya - I just love their relationship and the eventual tragedy makes it even more of a tragedy.

B: KC's dad coming back. His mom is such a sweetheart, and I love that she instantly kicks him and decides they need to move to keep KC and herself safe. Also, love the little friendship he had with Bianca.

C: Drew and Fiona - They're one of those random pairings that just worked well.

At s4, the earliest when they started giving Craig more screen time to the detriment of the other characters.

So two things I’d like to mention. First, Emma admitting she’s failing school was something really deep. Before she went into that roll about meeting a guy that’s what college life is typically like. And for someone like Emma who had the comfort of degrassi & high school as a whole she got the rude awakening that no research could ever prepare you for.

Which leads to my second point. I can see why her and Spinner got married. Both put all their eggs in one basket for one thing for one person and when it doesn’t work out their whole life is over. Emma has enough motivation to get Spinner to do it and spinner needs someone or something to give him direction

Because I’m about to start Next Class and I’m gonna give it a fair chance too because when I was on this subreddit when I was on season 7, most said they disliked the last two seasons and next class.

However I enjoyed season 13 much more than season 12 and personally was one of the better seasons since they made the seasons double the length. The structure of the show in season 13/14 is much better than a full season of 2 parters, since the old occasional 2 parter for big episodes, with a constant running narrative is much better.

Also the older characters taking a step back was necessary given how much of them we had to watch in comparison to the originals.

But I without a doubt hate the Claire pregnancy storyline and how they just never want to allow Claire to be wrong. Alya really enables her behaviour

It looked like all the other posts related to this were too old and locked.

There was one kind of about it but mostly about Maya and Zig taking the Molly and less about my question which was that it seemed really out of character for Maya to be okay with the setting of it all.

Two days prior, or whatever she was yelling that Zig had nowhere to go. And Zig and his mentor noted that living with someone gang affiliated was a bad idea.

Maya spent like half a season trying to get Zig away from the gangs, but suddenly she's at their place and Vince shows up selling drugs and she's like wow this is so fun I want to meet your friends?

Is it because her concern for Zig was all her anxiety, and therapy meant she no longer worried about this or what? It just never added up to me and re-watching I'm even more confused considering she flushed his weed he was selling because she was so against his affiliation but somehow living with the dealer is ok?

I couldn't help but laugh after Craig flipped on Ashley at the dance, calling her Miss Goth, Miss Doom-and-Gloom. It's not funny because his dad just died and he's having a break down, but I still laugh at that one part.

Also when Emma passes out from Anorexia. It's not funny, Anorexia is serious and I'd never laugh at someone having a real medical emergency, but Emma freaking out then passing out makes me laugh.

Universally LOVED by the Degrassi fandom but in your opinion, they’re overrated.

I know Ali wasn’t really feeling Jenna all that much but I’m really glad they became friends. Ali having a little HPV scare and Jenna being there was really sweet.

And of course down the line Jenna gets pregnant and she was there for her. I don’t know I just really like their friendship.

I'm really not into Jenna, KC, Jane, pretty much any character from when Maya and Zig are part of the main cast...

I’m at the scene where Spinner asked her to move in with him.

I don’t blame Jane for feeling rushed because I’m a full on adult & even I was scared to move in with the father of my child 😮‍💨 I just really wished she could have told Spinner in some way how she felt because like she said, spinner was there for all her family problems that happened. The very least she could have said is I need a break.

Now I know a lot of people view Declan as a menace…I have a soft spot for him because of his relationship with Holly J to come.

I remember there was an episode after Adam died where Imogen didn't want Becky to be a part of Degrassi TV. Imogen didn't want Becky to find out about her and Adam hooking up in the van after she broke up with him.

I am very curious as to what would have happened if Becky did find out. Would it have drastically changed their friendship or would Becky have let it go since she and Adam were broken up at the time?

Maya, Zig, Tristan, etc. This was the last class that carried the show and that we got to see from the beginning to the end. I feel like they also were put in the same or a worse situation than Sav and Holly J’s class. They both were involved in a transitional period for the show (Sav & Holly J from TNG to the Degrassi Season 10 reboot, and Maya & Zig from Degrassi seasons 11-14 to the Netflix reboot) Maya’s class didn’t have ties to the original students and their era was also about a decade after the events of early TNG. They didn’t have as much longevity with the sudden switch but I’m glad they got closure. I still wish we got seasons 5 & 6 of next class to at least close out some of the characters I grew to like, like Saad & Lola

While it sometimes misses the mark, it changes with the times. They showed an abortion in the 80s. A suicide.

The kids were real.

As much as I love The OC or Dawson’s Creek… I can’t relate to them. We are all Spinner, Manny, Emma, and Ashley. We are all kids on Degrassi Street.

I find it weird that there was never a trial with the Lakehurst guy who murdered JT. As impactful as his death was you would think some of the characters would've been asked to take the stand on the night's events.

The only update we got was that he was in jail.

Johnny said (in later seasons) that his parents would get hell simply because Johnny was standing next to JT's murderer. It would've been nice to see Johnny's life afterwards.

I used to not understand all the hype around Holly J and found her boring. I just finished rewatching 10-13 but couldn’t make it all the way through 14 because I didn’t remember how bad it was, so I just skipped to Clare’s graduation. I really enjoyed Holly J, Sav, Anya, & Fiona this time around. I went back and started at season 6 to see the Lakehurst students come in. I’m glad I’ve seen the show before because so much was going on around this time I would’ve been so confused. I’m on season 8 of my rewatch right now and Holly J’s development is written very well. I really didn’t like her at first but she really grows on you

I'm a kid of that time (44) so it all felt right to me. That's how we ended series at that time.

Joey - yeah he cheated on Caitlin, and did Tessa wrong. That was just him. Regardless he always tries to find a way to get something for himself. Though, they didn't need to play Joey that way, he does seem like a good dude.

Snake - I get he's standing around small people, but is Steffan 6'7 the whole show? I'm a big guy, but I wonder if he came out fully grown. Always liked him.

Tessa - I feel bad for her. Didn't like her in DJH, or DH, but still she got played.

Lucy- she's my favorite. Really good person. This is going to be bad, but she should have never gotten in the car with Wheels. He should have never left either..

Caitlin - does she ever have someone worth it for her? Claud, Joey, Keith (watched the reunion)? TBF she's the type of girl I would have been all for at that time. She was/is a good soul. Cute too.

Wheels - Another character I feel really bad about. I get it, his circumstances made him that way.

Spike - I liked her (ok sensing a theme?) Too little time in the movie. But is in TNG for a while.
