Trans people and bathrooms: This debate is stupid.

https://ragdollx.substack.com/p/trans-people-and-bathrooms

TL:DR

Despite the hysteria surrounding trans people and bathrooms, several studies have found that nondiscrimination laws that protect trans people’s right to use public facilities in accordance with their gender identity don’t lead to an increase in sexual assaults. School officials, experts on sexual assault prevention and police departments all agree that protecting trans people poses no threat to cis women and girls.

By contrast, a large number of trans people, including kids, report experiencing harassment, humiliation or even violence when using a public restroom, along with other problems due to fear of harassment.

Trans youth who had restricted access to restroom/locker rooms were at higher risk of sexual assault, and they were no more likely to commit sexual violence. States that ban trans kids from using facilities consistent with their gender identity reported the same rate of sexual violence as states that didn’t have such bans.

Links for any data on real numbers of transgender athletes in american sports

last week I saw an interview with mallory mcmorrow of the michigan state senate, where she stated that the entire state of michigan (10m pop) sees an average of only 2 waivers a year from trans athletes seeking to participate in sports that allign w/their gender identity.

this issue at its core already feels like something that should sit on the backburner until we figure out the more meaningful problems facings americans.

tacking on the idea that states across the nation are wasting countless hours & tax dollars introducing & voting on legislation that targets something that impacts almost nobody just blows my mind..

so I'm wondering if anyone has data set or links that identify real world numbers by individual states, regions, sports organizations, or nationally (academic lvl or pro), which could shed more light on how prevent this even is?

Voter Registration Movement

Call to action! Help grow this database Hello I am a researcher on behalf of my university and would like to get some feedback and data points for my survey. The point of the survey is collect information and provide information on voter registration based on your home state. The goal of my study is to firstly and foremost get as many people especially college aged folk to register to vote. My dream goal is to create a data driven and implementable plan for universities and hs to adopt and incorporate for hs seniors and incoming university students. With this study I was able to get 100’s of people signed up so far but I would like to get to 1000 before 2024. Survey Preview link

Long term longitudinal studies of trans adults

I thought there was a study some time back that followed some trans adults for decades, but I can’t seem to locate it. Similar to what the TransYouth Project is doing currently.

Compilation of facts about abortions, abortion bans, and "pro-lifers"

Just today I found out about this subreddit and I appreciate its mission, so I figured I'd contribute too which is why I made a document with several studies outlining five key facts about abortion: https://ragdollx.substack.com/p/five-key-facts-about-abortion

This is essentially a summary of a video of mine in which I discuss this same topic in somewhat greater detail. These facts are:

  1. Abortion bans are broadly ineffective;

  2. Abortion restrictions lead to more unsafe abortions;

  3. Abortion restrictions lead to worse health outcomes for women and children;

  4. "Pro-lifers" are demonstrably NOT "pro-life";

  5. The majority of Americans support women’s reproductive rights.

Gun control research documents?

So ever since the mass shootings we've experienced over the last couple of days, I've seen sharp divisions of opinion in Leftist spaces regarding gun control, especially in the United States. I see Lefties taking pro-gun stances that unironically overlap with the same ol' right-wing arguments. Some even bring up the "under no pretense" Marx quote. However, there are a few which I find to be legitimate concerns about gun control, such as more power to the police and minority groups being in a more vulnerable position.

Does anyone know of any good research documents demonstrating that gun control is overall good? As well addressing common talking points, e.g. self-defense & resisting tyranny.

And if any of you have any docs showing that gun control is ineffective, I'd also be very interested in looking at those too!

DAAS/SAAS For 20K PDFs Hosted Service

Greetings! We have 20K + PDF files that are reasonably structured; they are court cases. We would like to be able to uploaded and have the relevant fields pulled out, or uploaded as PDF with a JSON file. The user would be able to search by term, docket, or infraction. Something like ElasticSearch or SOLR and Drupal, but we don't want to have to maintain a Drupal + Search platform. Is there a hosted solution?

Thanks!

Trans Women in Sports

Hey everyone, there's a big controversy brewing at my college about a trans women competing on the women's swim team (personally I 100% support her). I've been trying to find studies about the fairness of trans women competing in women's sports from a physiology perspective, but have only been able to find one or two studies. Does anyone know what i should search/where i should look to find out more about this topic?

"People don't want handouts, they need to work to appreciate what they have"

I know there are studies that dispel this, but I can't figure out what to google to find them... does anyone happen to have something on hand to reaffirm that social welfare programs don't erode motivation, and that in fact that boost motivates people?? I know this is anecdotally true and it's 100% been proven before.

Thanks so much :,)

"Library of Leftist Literature" Google Drive

Hey guys, I'm sure I'm not the only one to do this, but for anyone interested I have a Google Drive containing PDF's of over a hundred texts pertaining to left-wing politics, economics, and social issues. It contains works of theory, fictional novels, charts and diagrams, published studies, and more. It's still a work in progress, but it continues to be updated almost daily.

I currently run a semi-covert organization for left-leaning individuals (primarily socialists and communists) at a Conservative Christian university and this digital library has been one of our many projects over the past year. Most of these works can be accessed online already, but there are a good many of them that I've personally scanned and uploaded. I hope you guys find it useful if you decide to give it a look.

Links to transitioning stidies

I keep getting into arguments about how trans surgery is generally a good thing, but most studies I find say it doesn’t hurt or help the mental health of the recipients. Can someone link me to some data or studies that prove it’s generally helpful?

Studies Showing Percievably best political Policies on earth.

Hello,

Out of curiousity, is there any database online that shows studies and data showcasing Leftist/Nordic policies being the most likely best and effective policies to fix the worlds problems?

Your standard leftist policies including but not limited to:

UBI
Universal health care
Prison Reform
Higher Minimum Wage
Free - Low Cost College
Drug Decriminalization
Aggressive Climate Change Policies
Immigration Reform
Campaign Finance reform
Criminal Justice Reform
Debt Cancellation etc.

A database that proves these policies and leftist based policies are superior not just by feeling, but by substantive actual data to prove it that leaves no room for argument. Like a one Stop Shop of Data driven answers.

Here’s a source proving that black fatherlessness in America isn’t the problem

https://www.huffpost.com/entry/no-most-black-kids-are-no_b_11109876

To summarize:

The claim that 75% of black people grow up without a father figure are based on marriage records and legal address records, none of which account for how active a father is in their kid’s life. The discrepancy that does exist between black and white fathers when you account for this is very small, and in fact black fathers who are present tend to be more active in their kid’s life than white fathers on average.

So next time a conservative says that “black culture” is the reason for black people underperforming in America, hit them with this.

Any Good Studies Debunking Race and IQ?

Hey All, I have a debate coming up and I'm looking for some good sources to debunk the whole "Race and IQ" stance. I know I've heard of people citing studies before but I don't know exactly what that was or where they got them.
