Reddit home of the Darwin Awards: Population control volunteers. The tree of life is self-pruning!

/r/DarwinAwards is dedicated to Darwin Award candidates! To qualify, the person must have done something dumb that left them unable to reproduce via either death or sterilization

/r/DarwinAwards rules:

1:Post must include death or sterilization

1a: This means death, or sterilization by their own spectacular actions or from a spectacularly idiotic misapplication of judgment.

1b: DarwinAwards.com has awarded participants who've already had children, but remove themselves from subsequently passing on their genes. Though this is a precedent was previously set for our sub we do allow lee-way. As long as the candidate is not having children post incident, it's fair game.

2: No satire or memes - Though the method of some individual's passings are humorous, this subreddit is for events that actually happened

3: No Suicides - Do not post obvious suicides or murders. This includes people intentionally jumping in front of vehicles, shooting themselves, or putting themselves in harm's way to kill themselves. Intentionally ending ones life does not count towards a darwin award

4: No combat footage or murder - The majority of killings made in self-defense, or the defense of others, do not qualify for darwin awards except in extremely rare circumstances.

5: No unavoidable tragedies or accidents - Darwin Awards are not for common every day mishaps and accidents. The awardee needs to have intentionally done something fantastically stupid resulting in their misadventure

6: No Minors - Content blatantly depicting minors or that can be verified as containing minors (via news article, previous posts, etc) are not allowed in this subreddit. Per site-wide rules a minor is defined as anyone under the age of 18 years old.

7 No Reposts - Do your best not to repost content submitted within the last month.

7a: If you repost something within a week of it being uploaded, you will receive a warning and the post will be deleted.

7b: If you repost something within a day of it being uploaded, you will receive a warning, a temp ban, and the post will be deleted.

8: No Uncivil Commentary - Please practice good reddiquette. We encourage thoughtful discussion and civil discourse in this subreddit, but please respect the injured, deceased, and one another. This includes personal attacks or harassment of other users. Dark and tasteless humor will also be removed at a moderator's discretion.

9: No racism/hate/slurs/radicalism - Hate speech, bigotry, racism, homophobia, transphobia or disparaging comments about geographical locations/cultures are not allowed nor welcome here.

10: No Politics - Political discussions are also not welcome here and will be subject to removal. Please keep your opinions on all things political to yourself.

Stand too close to the UP 844? Here’s your Darwin Award!

Rail fan was standing too close. You can see her get hit as the train goes through the RR crossing, on the right hand side.

Sorry for the potato quality
