Window for new direct buyers opened today. Had to call rather than book online, but the dates/room type we wanted were still available following the add-on/current Poly owners closed yesterday.
Pretty excited about this club you all have.
Hi all! I am planning to book a short stay at a resort that is not our home resort when our 7 month booking window opens. Question- what time of day on that day that my window opens can I book online? 12 AM or later like 5 AM or 8 AM? Thank you!!
Are the 1 bedroom DVC rooms at the GF in the separate building (the DVC Villas) or are they in thr refurbished Big Pine Key building? Thanks.
Hi!
We're looking to purchase into Poly soon. However, we know we will frequent Disneyland as well. What is the availability like for deluxe studio/one bedrooms for Disneyland 7m in advance? Usually go August/September/November for 2-4 nights.
I've also been considering buying 150 direct with Disneyland and 150 resale vs direct with poly but I don't like the idea of splitting a pot when I'm still not sure how we'd split our time between world vs land.
Just looking for different perspectives on our next DVC purchase.
We currently own 2 contracts, we purchased 150 points at Riviera direct in 2023 and this past summer purchased 100 points resale at BLT. We are currently considering getting 220 points at Aulani resale for about $24,000 or 150 points at Poly direct for around $31,000. We do typically stay in 1 bedrooms so not super concerned about studio availability anywhere at 7 months. We hope to go to Aulani every 2-3 years but you never know how that will go as we do live on the east coast.
My concerns with the Aulani contract are 1. The dues are already higher and probably will rise at a slightly higher rate than Poly. 2. Even though it’s just a few years earlier it does expire before Poly. 3. The inability to use the Aulani points at future resorts.
Thoughts/comments appreciated. TIIA
Hi, have a DVC deluxe studio reserved at GF for first week in June. Family will consist of 2 adults and 2 kids (10&7) for 4 nights. Now that I’m thinking about it, I’m wondering if we’ll be too cramped in a studio with all our stuff (clothes , food/water, merchandise, etc).
There are one bedrooms available at the Contemporary for not much more than studio at GF. How does Contemporary compare to GF? Any suggestions/ideas? Also the pool is important as well if that matters.
Also possibly thinking about biting the bullet and getting 1 bedroom at GF watch that, however that’s almost twice the price of the studio. Thanks in advance.
Hey everyone! Long time lurker!
Excited to say I'm officially joining the DVC family. I have a couple questions:
Currently have an Orlando trip planned for Feb 9th - Feb 14th. Staying at Pop Century. We got our first resale going through ROFR right now (sent off to DVC on Oct 28th) and my wife and I are so excited!
We would love to cancel the Pop Century (we would wait until we had the DVC points) and stay at Riviera. Based on what I'm hearing from the broker and everyone online, we should expect our points to hit our account between 60-90 days from Monday the 28th.
So at best we're looking at getting the points December 27 and at worst January 26th.
We're getting enough points for Deluxe Studio, either view. If we get the points on the earlier side, what is the likelihood that we are going to have any availability for Riviera for this trip? And can we join a waitlist without an existing reservation (what I've read online about this is inconclusive)?
Thanks everyone!!
I’m not clear as to how my waitlists would be processed in this scenario. I checked the DVC website FAQ and this is what I think. I’m wanting to book three consecutive nights at either of two resorts. Neither had full availability. I booked Day 1 at resort A and Day 3 at resort B. Then created two waitlists for Days 2-3 at resort A and Days 1-2 at Resort B. My goal is for either waitlist to come through and complete a solid 3 day reservation at any single location. Is this how the first available waitlist would be processed? Anything else I need to consider? Thanks!
Hi all,
Newbie here and hoping to become a DVC member. I visit Disney annually with my partner (or every 2 years if we can’t make it) and we either stay in Moderate or Deluxe resorts for the 2 weeks we usually stay. We are currently here until 10th November and may be purchasing before we leave. We are both from the UK.
We had a meeting at Riviera with one of the reps but would much rather hear from existing members. We like Riviera for its location, size and amenities. We are planning on buying 200 points cash (with the view of increasing in future).
The benefits included with DVC are a big bonus for us with buying direct, however I am aware these aren’t tied to any contracts so could be removed at anytime. I’m also aware of the resale restrictions and long contract at RIV.
My main question is are the current incentives actually any good? The sales rep kept saying how they are ‘the best ever’ but I don’t buy that for a second. Do they tend to run better offers at other points in the year?
Aside from this, does anyone have any pros / cons to DVC (or Riviera) as a whole? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Can you add a Disney Dining plan to split stays? What if I want to have it on one reservation but not another?
I am planning a trip February 16-22 and I just got through the resale process so this is the soonest I’m able to book and I’m shocked that every single resort has no studio availability. I didn’t expect to find anything at the big major resorts, but I was hoping at least OKW or SS would have Studios.
If I can get them for the same point value (booked a few weeks difference)which one do you think would be worth doing? I’ve never stayed at either so I don’t know. I was excited to stay at riviera because of the skyliner but now that I know I have to fold up my double stroller it’s less exciting. Also when I was at Epcot on Friday the skyliner line was all the way to beach club and yikes. I’m just wondering if it’s worth it. I know Polynesian tower isn’t open (and quite possibly booked up) and therefore it’s conjecture but what do yall think?
When DVC offers Add-On discounts for existing members to buy more points, does this apply to those who had purchased via resale as well? Also, does your existing contract need to be a minimum size for you to qualify?
Hello all! I was scoping around but didn’t see much info - how often does Disney increase the point costs for the rooms? Is there somewhere with the statistics on how they’ve changed over the last 10 years or so?
I know they’re very different, but here’s my context. We visited aulani and loved it and we plan to go back every two to three years. We think it’d be worth it to have a DVC contract so we can book with points. We also go to Disney World every two years or so.
I see Aulani is very reasonable on the resale market at about $95 to $105 per point. The dues are pretty high at $9.76 per point.
Bay lake tower is more expensive up front at$130 to $150 per point but pretty reasonable on dues at about $7.50 per point.
From what I understand, booking is easier at Aulani 7 months out. However, Aulani is our preferred resort (we don’t have too much preference on the WDW resorts but would like to stay at monorail or boardwalk/beach club).
I guess my question is, does the relative ease of booking at 7 months for Aulani make it more valuable to have Bay Lake as a home resort? Considering the long term cost of dues, it almost makes me want to buy points elsewhere to use at Aulani. However, I also see the peace of mind of knowing I have the 11 month window at the resort I want to book at most.
Guidance appreciated!
anyone know when dining reservations will open for the new poly restaurants? gonna be there during Christmas
Hi everyone! Been lurking here for a while and I've searched through a ton of threads but I haven't seen much for my specific situation.
We do Disneyland yearly. Sometimes a few times. Last year we did Disneyland twice, and Aulani. Overall around 15 days each year. We typically stay good neighbor at Disneyland, but I've been wondering if DVC makes some sense with the new tower.
I see a ton on here for WDW, and for good reason as there's so many more choices. For West coasters though, why would you do a new sale and not resale? Yoga doesn't seem like that great of a benefit. For those that do resale, I think I've seen points are locked to that resort but if we booked Aulani can we book the new Disneyland tower? I've been seeing some deals for Aulani for around $95 a point and with closing costs that seems like a decent deal.
Would love any thoughts or insights. Thanks!
Hi Everyone,
I’ve seen sites that you can purchase DVC memberships rather than from Disney. What is the benefit from buying directly rather than straight from Disney?
I’m thinking of buying 300 points for Grand Floridian as a home resort. Sorry if this has been asked before but how difficult is it to get into auhlani at the 7 months deadline during spring break (March-April) or summer break?
I have a family of 5 and we like the 2 bedroom at BLT. We would go every other year for a full week. I figure we would look for a contract of 160 points with June or August as we typically travel end of August each year.
Is DVC worth it for my family knowing we do not get the perks (we usually do Uber eats for dinner and have breakfast in our room]?
Anything else I might be missing?
Reason I am considering if because DVC rental costs about $8000 and contract would be around $20,000 so I figure we would break even around the 3rd trip.
And the rate ranges for different credit tiers?
Thanks!
Does anyone know what price point the ROFT monster is taking on them?
My parents recently transferred their 200 points at SSR to my sister and I. We enjoy SSR and the ability to walk to the Springs in the evening, that's always been a big plus for us. As our families grow we are considering adding some points via resale and thinking we just add at SSR to make it simple. I've read enough to make my head spin 😀. I understand that we have the 11 month advantage at SSR, as I said we enjoy SSR and will always be happy staying there but might like to try something else in the future for variety. Here are my questions....
If we book at 11 months at SSR can we waitlist at multiple other resorts in hopes of just getting one of our choices or can you only waitlist for one other choice?
If your waitlist option becomes available does the new reservation automatically happen and the original is cancelled or are you made aware it's available and given a timeframe to decide?
How does it work if you're booking multiple rooms? Say for instance we had two studios booked at SSR, can we waitlist for two studios somewhere else and check a box that we only want to move if two are available not just one?
A family member has a Boardwalk contract she’s looking to sell. 25k to purchase for 250 pts. Was curious if this was worth pursuing? I have a family of three and love going to Disney world frequently.
My parents bought DVC many years ago and now it's being transferred to my sister and I. I'm a planner and as I read through a lot of stuff and look at things I see questions about well thought out and detailed minute by minute plans. Do this ride, run to that ride, get this pass, and so on.
We are going to WDW in a few weeks with some basic ideas of what we want to do but knowing if we don't get on a ride or miss a show there will be lots of trips in the future. For me that makes the trips so much less stressful and so much more fun!
My parents recently transferred their DVC contract to my sister and I. Is there somewhere on the website I can see when the contract expires? Also what happens when it does? Is it just over or can we extend it for a discounted price?
We just bought our first contract (resale) with a Dec use year. Our contract states 210 points for 2026 & beyond. Does that mean we won't get our points until December 2026 or will our points be deposited December 2025?
Newbie question, so bear with me. I’ve seen on the 2025 WDW points chart that the likes of All-Star Movies are included, but it refers to ‘reservation points’ that the other DVC resorts do not. How does this work? Can I use DVC points to reserve rooms at the value resorts?
Hi all! I'm a brand new member (just joined while at Aulani last month- 250 pts at Animal Kingdom Lodge). My monthly payments are supposed to start next month and I was wondering- if I make additional payments before my monthly payment is due, will it zero out the automatic payment? or will my auto payment still hit?
Example because I'm not confident with the way I'm wording:
Let's say my auto payment is $600 per month on the 15th of every month. If I make a $700 payment on the 10th of the month, will I still be charged $600 on the 15th?
just want to know because I know for my credit cards if I make a bigger/earlier payment then my auto payment for the month will be skipped.
Thanks!
