Need help finding early 90s robot DOS game

This is a top-down view game. You had a phase where you designed an albeit simple robot from a few stat choices, then you somehow fought them in top-down view. I played this with a friend in the early 90s (probably 1991-1995), but not sure if it was older. The robots may have been tanks or some other armored vehicle, but I think they were robots.

Looking for a 90s FPS game with a monochromatic/comic book style - anyone recognize this?

Hey everyone! I've been trying to remember the name of an old FPS game from the 90s or late 2000s , and it’s driving me crazy! Here’s what I recall:

  • It had a unique monochromatic/comic book style, mostly in black and white.
  • I think you started off with a sword as your main weapon.
  • You could use chi powers or some kind of energy to send enemies flying.
  • The enemies would drop these red hearts when you defeated them, which you could pick up.

I’ve been searching for a while and this distinct art style and gameplay just won’t leave my head. If anyone has any idea what this game might be, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!

Wolf8086 missing?

Hi everyone. I'm trying to find an 8086 demake Wolfenstein 3D. This is an older demake and is different from the more recent CGA demake. Every mention of this version is pretty old and the download link seems to have been down for years. I'd love to run this on my IBM PS/2 and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I've tried looking but as far as I am aware it's gone. Has anyone here downloaded it in the past and would be willing to upload the file? Thanks

Help with System Shock

Oh boy, here we go again.

So recently I've been wanting to get back into playing dos games on my W98SE computer, so I decided, "hey lets download and play system shock, that game was fun." well, after 4 days of torturing myself, I'm at a loss and I'm turning to reddit. I've looked at a majority of the forums online but I cannot figure out this issue.

The Issue

Okay right to the point, I download system shock 1 (off the official 1995 CD) and install it normally. The game starts normally, has sound and so on, but as I'm guessing most of you know, the game instantly crashes upon starting a game (The error given that the game doesn't have enough memory to email the cursor 3007), then when trying to close the dos window, the computer freezes prompting a restart of the system. I have no idea what's even happening but I will list the things I have tried -

Editing the CONFIG.SYS (instantly crashes computer on startup)
Editing AUTOEXEC.BAT (instantly crashes on computer startup)

Reinstalling the game but attempting it through the f8 (command prompt) view and mounting the drive (doesn't work for me, I believe I'm doing something wrong? I don't have a clue)
Copying the files to the hard drive and installing (doesn't work)

Went to an old 2001 forum and downloaded VESAB (I think that's the name) and that doesn't work

Does this game just not work on windows 98?

Now then, currently I've tried almost everything I can find / think of to solve this issue, and since I've turned to you all, I was hoping that you all could help.

Trying to find the name of a game

Hello, I'm trying to find the name of a game that I played as a kid.

If this is not the best place for this question, please let me know where I could post it.

Facts that I can remember. 1)80's DOS game 2)Fansaty RPGs 3) there was a clue in the game about a combination lock. The song clue was sung by the town drunk. "blue in the sky, blue is the sea, red for blood, and green for trees" 4) you could cast spells and choose how much power/mana you could pump into that cast.. 5) one spell was call "sword" 6) you had to "weild" a weapon before using the weapon.

Sorry that's all I can remember. It's a long shot. Thanks in advance.

Looking to host my own browser based DOSBox on RPi 5

Hi everyone,

I have been trying to get various browser based DosBox dockers to work with little to no success. Does anyone have any recommendations for setting up such a thing?

I want to run games like Link386 Pro, Epic Pinball, and a few others that I personally own. I appreciate any advice that can be provided.

How much space does eXoDOS take after being installed?

I know how big the downloads are, but how much space do I need when its fully installed (including the extra stuff)? Will a 1TB drive be enough?

Unless I overlooked it on the website I don’t think they mentioned this there. I wish they would.

Getting a virus warning for eXoDOS, is that a mistake or should I worry?

Hope I can ask here.

As the title says, Windows claims there is a virus in the download. Started it last night and its at 70% right now.

I am got the torrent through the website and the link to the website from MetalJesusRocks's video.

Any insight into this would be very appreciated. :)

Prehistorik 2. Sound issues Windows 98/DOS

Hi,

When I try to play Prehistorik 2 in Windows 98 on my Toshiba Libretto 100ct. It works great but the sound always cuts off after a while, sometimes it happens at the start of the game and sometimes after having completed a level or two. When trying to run it directly from DOS it never has any sound period.

Any idea what I can do to fix this?

Thanks
