Hello everyone! I was wondering how I could go about recreating a tablecloth that looks similar to this. I know there’s some draping going on but I’m just not sure where to start. Any help is appreciated 😊
I’ve been helping my sister plan her bridal shower, and I have one plea for brides everywhere: please let 2025 be the year we ditch the basic themes. No more “Put a Ring on It” showers, no more generic tea parties with nothing but pink.
As a former event stylist (and someone who gets way too into party themes), I put together a list of fun, creative bridal shower themes that actually reflect the bride’s personality. Think Parisian cherry motifs, medieval princess vibes, Marie Antoinette decadence, and a full-on ACOTAR celestial fantasy shower.
If you’re planning a shower, what themes are you considering? Do you love the classic ideas, or are you looking for something more unique? Would love to hear your thoughts!
For anyone who needs theme inspiration (or help shopping for decor & favors), I put together a full guide with theme ideas + Amazon & Pinterest boards here:

So I’m DIY’ng all the centerpieces and decor for my wedding next year. I like the idea of this. I have the florals, but any tips on constructing the base? I’ve seen many of these on temu and SHEIN and Amazon, but i feel like for as many as i need, making them myself may be easier on the wallet. FYI: i need 1 for each table(10) about 15inches, and about 8 (2 different sizes, maybe 15 and 20inches or 20 and 25inches) for the backdrop.
Any suggestions, tips would be greatly appreciated. 🥹🥰✨
Hi! So I'm planning on DIY-ing my table centerpieces. I'm doing baby's breath in lemon water. I was planning on getting the bulk flower ordered delivered on the Tuesday or Wednesday (getting married on a saturday) before and letting them soak to really open up and get full. Would it be better to make them on the Thursday or Friday before? My concern is the lemons in the water. I'm afraid if they're in water for 48hrs+ they might get cloudy and weird looking. Anyone have experience or tips? Thanks!
I’m trying to recreate hangers with sticker pearls and gems for my bridal party. I want to make sure they don’t fall off, can I spray them with mod podge or will that ruin the pearls and beads?
I did all of my own florals! Including my bouquet and the stuff in the mantel. I also did some of my own dress alterations!
Hi! My fiancé and I are both environmental engineers and would love to lower the environmental impact of our wedding, while keeping most of the traditional wedding customs. As I'm looking into DIY ideas to save cost as well as waste, I've been finding that a lot of popular DIYs are very plastic-intensive or rely heavily on single-use supplies from places like Amazon which I would like to avoid. I have been sourcing secondhand as much as possible and skipping some single-use things like favors, confetti, sparklers, etc, but would love to hear more success stories of sustainable DIYs or ideas of how to reduce waste/consumption.
For example, I wanted to send out paper invitations rather than digital to accommodate older guests, but I bought a secondhand letterpress kit on Ebay to DIY letterpress my invitations on bamboo paper and I'm using reusable embossers and stamps for personalization instead of vellum wrappers, wax seals, or other non-recyclable materials. I also plan to choose locally grown florals to avoid using faux flowers or out-of-season flowers that would have to be flown in.
I've learned so much from this sub already, thank you for sharing your ideas!
Just a few of my favorite napkins I embroidered for our intimate wedding.
Hi everyone!
I wanted to share something I’ve built and I’m really excited to be launching it. As I launch it though, I’m looking for some couples to try it out and give me feedback - totally for free of course.
I’m building an AI companion chatbot to help answer guests’ event-related questions. It’s an AI assistant that your wedding guests can message directly via text to take care of tasks that you, as the soon-to-be-wed, often end up handling—or those you might delegate to a day-of coordinator.
Here’s what I’ve built so far and what I’m working on:
Currently Supported:
In Development (Future Features):
I’m the one building it, so I can make custom changes based on your feedback for your wedding!
Also, quick note,
I noticed that there was a past post referencing another product in this space (https://www.reddit.com/r/DIYweddings/comments/1g98ecb/looking_for_3_couples_to_try_our_wedding_guest/). Just to clarify: we’re not affiliated with that product—we’re simply tackling a similar set of challenges from a fresh perspective.
Comment if you are interested and I can message you with details.
I am throwing a wedding shower for the couple. My plan is (for example) to have a baby picture of the bride and the groom and display them side by side, and then toddler stage, etc. I don't want to have a ton of frames everywhere, and it is expensive to get a bunch of frames just for this.
Are there any ideas to display them side by side. I don't want to use a big display board because we have a welcome board and a cocktail board. I don't want there to be signs everywhere. I am up for a DIY with the pictures, but I just can't seem to find anything on the internet.
Thank you.
We are getting married (yay!) and I plan on doing as much as possible myself, so that we can splurge on the things that I CAN´T reasonably diy. I´m thinking definitely florals (fake flowers as well as possibly growing some), invites, stationary, signage and possibly some lawn games (diy cornhole etc.). I keep seeing people recommend a cricut and while I would love to have one, they are obviously pricey, and you can get a lot of personalised vinyl decals etc. on temu and the likes these days.
So, was getting a cricut for your diy wedding worth it for you? Bonus points for fun diy ideas!

I have a professional camera and lots of videography experience. I’m considering starting a side business as a wedding videographer. I understand this is a frugal community, so I’m curious if you folks would be interested in a good videographer, and if so, what’s a fair price?
If anyone is interested I’m willing to travel anywhere and offering reasonable rates!
I don’t have a cricut but I was considering buying the Maker 3 ($359 for the bundle with the vinyl and online subscription).
What projects did you use your cricut for and how much money did it save you vs if you were to have bought that stuff premade elsewhere?
I was thinking of making an arch with flowers (fake or real, whichever is easier), greenery, and possibly fabric.
However, this would be the entryway for our venue and I think we could maybe use it instead. Any ideas how decorate it? I'm trying to think of what would look best and would love some input. Also, any ideas on how to attach flowers, decorations, etc to it?
Has anyone ever used trading cards of some type as place cards for reception seating?
We are both very into Pokemon and I would like to incorporate it somehow in a subtle manner. I thought maybe instead of table numbers, it can be the elements and then all the place cards are Pokemon and you match the element type to the Pokemon, which determines which table you sit at.
But I’m struggling to think about how to get the name associated with the card. Do I write their name directly on the card? Do I put the card in a sleeve and also put in a separate card with their name? But then that’s basically double cards… or do I put the card in a sleeve and then write on the sleeve?
Curious if anyone else has tried something like this and how it turned out!
Maybe it’s grandma’s vintage mirrors scattered throughout the garden, your favorite love quotes hidden in unexpected places, or that amazing neon sign from your first-date spot?
We’ve seen couples create magic with everything from hanging fairy lights to personal photo galleries.
What special details will tell your story to make your venue yours??
I want to diy my wedding menus but since everything else on the table is white I wanted the paper for the menu to be colorful with a subtle pattern. I purchased this from Amazon and was very disappointed it wasn't actually thick cardstock. Everywhere I look I can only find solid colored cardstock. Does anyone know where I could find something like this but made of nice quality thick paper?
Sorry if this is not the right sub but looking for some DIY help for my wedding! Is there a way I can remove the words from this card box? It’s not like raised or anything so I’m not sure if I can heat and scrape it off. I want to redo it with a different font. Any tips?
I know it’s a little beat up, I thrifted it for $3 and couldn’t pass it up!
Does anyone know if Cards & Pockets typically have sales or promo codes, specifically for envelopes and cardstock? I know they have it for Invitation Kits on Black Friday.
Trying to cut cost as much as possible. Tried googling some promo codes but none of them work :(
