Somebody hopped our fence last night and broke open our gate, then pilfered our shed of tools and two bikes. My brought yellow steel Fausto Coppi with campognolo gearset and my husband's black Canyon Endurance. Not really sure what we do - mine really isn't replaceable, but thought y'all wouldn't mind keeping an eye out. People suck.
I’ve been working on an app called Pointz that’s all about helping riders find safer, low-stress routes to feel confident and comfy on the roads. Right now, it has emergency roadside assistance, plus a color-coded road safety map (from red to dark green for safety ratings), a slider to help choose the optimal balance of safety vs. speed, and options for specific preferences, like avoiding hills, selecting routes for different bike types, avoiding multi-use paths, and more. It has a bunch of other things like a way to record your ride (like Strava), GPX exporting, and even crowdsourcing (like Waze). But I'm curious—what features would you all actually use? Especially folks who are new/intermediate to riding in cities and suburbs. Would love to hear your thoughts
White Rock Lake
Hey yall, are there rideable trails at the FW Nature Center? There are no routes there in RWGPS, but the Strava heatmap shows some recent cycling activity.
Thanks!
its on Facebook, Offer up and craigslist. pawn shops are a no, but is there some place that buys a cruiser style bike local? a resale type bike shop. its a 24in purple huffy cranbrook that got a test ride then never got touches again. who buys bikes?
I recently moved to Red Oak, TX, and I’m considering getting a bike or electric scooter to get around. With the area still being developed and everything feeling a bit spread out, I’m wondering if it’s a practical option.
Would love to hear from locals or anyone familiar with the area—especially if you use a bike or scooter to get around! Is it safe? noticed no sidewalks accommodating? Are there any scenic trails or bike lanes I should know about?
I'm fairly certain there are some CX races going on right now, but a search is only turning up old results from a few years ago. Does anyone have a link to info about DFW CX races happening now?
Great day for gravel.
Also, mods, please add a gravel flair.
To the middle aged man in neon yellow going around white rock lake. I’m all for beating your PR but maybe don’t do it at one of the busiest times of day.(2-4pm) I witnessed you force another cyclist off to avoid a collision on a blind corner, and you lane split when a family of three was walking in the opposing direction as they were right beside me. These are dangerous scenarios as is, doesn’t help that you are going Mach 10.
Just bought my first E MTB. I know there are the trinity trails etc. but what are some good trials I can ride on unpaved? I know there is a bias against e bikes on trails. Not sure if that’s a thing here.
Looks like some trails in Arlington? Are those worth a look?
I’m from Dallas, and have been wanting to explore the Trinity Trails, but not sure how to approach them, they are so vast. I’ve been out there twice, I think both times starting over at Trinity park off university. Once we went East, and wound up in this large empty flood plain (honestly felt a bit isolated), second time we went south down by the bike shop and restaurants.
What are the highlights on Trinity Trail, that I should start with? Also I know parts of it are gravel vs paved, I assume it’s light gravel so a road bike is fine? Any parts I should avoid?
Does Dallas have a Bike CoOp or Biking organization where one could donate a few adult bikes? Clearing out a storage unit in next few months and will probably need to get rid of a few.

Hiii! Any women interested in riding together? I’m thinking casual rides with a stop for food or cafe. I’m 29F & have a road bike. If interested, lmk, I’ll start a GroupMe.
I’ve been wanting to go check out the shoreline trail in the colony, but last time I tried in early July, it was flooded from all the rains.
Curious if anyone has been recently? I saw that LLELA still has a few spots closed due to the heavy water release from the dam, so was curious if lake was still too high.
I’m new to the DFW area and looking to explore some great rides as the fall season approaches. I’d love to hear your recommendations for scenic routes, parks, or trails that are ideal for this time of year. I’m mainly into road cycling but open to beginner-friendly gravel routes as well.
If you know of any spots for sightseeing, peaceful nature rides, or routes with scenic views of fall foliage - please share!
I ride primarily White Rock Creek Trail and the SOPAC and it seems recently I'm coming across a lot of marijuana smoke. My route does take me through a lot of apartment complexes around Greenville Avenue, and yes I am probably a fuddy-duddy for complaining. I just prefer to breath relatively clean, smoke/narcotic-free air while riding. Occurrences of this smoke seems to have the increased tremendously this year compared to the last few years.
I have also been passed by cars on the road whose occupants are obviously smoking pot. As a cyclist, this is this can be unnerving knowing the drivers may not be completely alert to their surroundings.
Has anyone else noticed an increase in marijuana smoke in their rides around DFW?
I’m arranging a group bike ride for an organization I’m a member of. My default plan is for us to do a lap around White Rock Lake. However, I was wondering if there are any group friendly routes closer to Dallas than FW that have a restaurant we could ride to or end at on our bikes for food and drink. 10-15 miles would be ideal.

This is a light, feel good cycling movie with a cast of mostly unknown but fine actors. Although some of the technical details are inaccurate, it is a great movie to watch with a spouse or SO who may not be familiar with bibs, chamois butter or ramp tests as it provides a nice introduction to the world of cycling.

Looking for a regular riding partner in the McKinney area. Just switched over to road from mtb so I’m trying to meet some more of the road community. Cheers
