Rules:
Be Civil and follow Reddiquette. We're all modders of different skill levels here, so don't hesitate to ask for help or give help, and don't be mean toward those who do either.
Mods must follow the IP guidelines.
- Mods must be distributed for free
- Mods must not be distributed on any DRM platform (Steam, Google Play, GameJolt, itch.io, etc.)
- DDLC assets may not be used in standalone games
- Mods must state they are unaffiliated with DDLC and have a link to the original game
- Mods must not be distributed as complete games with executables
Tag mod spoilers AND DDLC+ spoilers (for now) in posts or comments. No spoilers in post titles. For comment spoilers, put: >!Just Monika!< and get Just Monika.
Tag NSFW mods/posts.
Posts must be related to modding DDLC, and artwork posted must be related to (or tease) a mod that the OP is working on. Posts not related to modding are better suited for /r/DDLC. Addendum: We will be keeping an eye on DDLC+ posts that are unrelated to modding. We know that everyone's excited, but "I LOVE DDLC+" posts, while amusing, are counterproductive to the subreddit's goals.
Artwork posted or used in mods must not belong to another artist, or the OP must have prior permission to use the artwork by the artist. Credit the original artist when not created by the OP. (Assuming you have permission.) This includes art used in the thumbnails of "Let's Play" videos.
Do not share mods that have been banned. Do not endorse or share any mods listed in the "Mod Notices" section in the subreddit wiki. Discussion of banned mods is still allowed, as long as it doesn't include providing links or requesting links to the mods, posting videos of the mods being played, or otherwise suggesting people play them.
Please note that simply endorsing one of these mods is not, by itself, grounds for a ban; but repeated/specific efforts to skirt this rule and/or subvert it will not be looked upon fondly.
"Let's Play" video posts must include the title of the mod in the subject line. This community is about promoting the work of mod creators, not the Youtube or Twitch channels of the people playing the mods. LP posts without the title of the mod come across as spam, and will therefore be removed.
Regarding ARG-style Posts: ARG posts must have a plain English title that refers to the mod it is related to, and there should not be a post related to said ARG more than once every three days (additional information can be made as a comment on the latest post). Using an ARG to sidestep one of the other rules will be treated as both a violation of that rule AND an attempt to avoid punishment for said rule. Posting an unsolvable mess as an ARG will be treated as both spam AND an attempt to avoid punishment for spam.

Did anyone else know that there's different dialogue if you don't have a completed ddlc save file when starting after story?
I opened the after story mod before finishing ddlc and got some extra dialogue about that I got there early and kinda cheated and stuff

Mod Announcement! Doki Doki Project Panatone.
This has been a work in progress for almost a full year now, but its finally come far enough where I can TEASE it.
I've have been stalking the mod market and felt it could use some more mods like this. Get hyped, as I said, I have been working on this for almost a year STRAIGHT.
My last mod wont be getting finished, it will remain a demo for the foreseeable future, hmu if you want to hear more about that.
ANYWAYS, hope you are excited for this, Artwork is by my good friend Avin1ty, she's always been the one to help me with art (I can't draw to save my life).
This mod has been a huge passion of mine, even while pushing through some hard times, so I'm glad I get to share it!

What would you suggest?
So, I played some mods years ago when the game came out, I remember playing Brand New Day (which I read is actually still in development), RainClouds and Purist Mod, I also started Blue Skies but never got to finish that one, so... What would you suggest, maybe similar to the ones above? I've been away from this community for so long and I don't know what actually came out (honestly, I didn't even expect that it would've been still so active xP)? And, is it worth to restart and finish Blue Skies?

Doki Doki Salvation vs Remake
Hello everyone! I am almost done playing Doki Doki Salvation and I have found it very good. I have seen that there is a Doki Doki Salvation Remake and so I want to ask anyone who has played both if the two mods are very close, or if the remake has more story or a bit of a different story. What are the biggest mod drops coming soon?
So its pretty obvious the mod community is very smaller than it once used to be. Yes thousands of people still enjoy DDLC mods however there aren't as many huge drops than a few years ago. Right now i know of foreign relations and fallen for you in development, but are there any just as if not bigger mods soon to be released?

Can someone please remake exit music:redux with a good ending
I know the whole point of the mod is that it’s a tragic story but I just couldn’t get over how it ended. I wish there was a nicer ending where MC doesn’t go to give his statement and stays with natsuki so she doesn’t die. If anyone has made something like this before please tell me where I can find it. If not i can only hope someone with the right skills sees this and gives it a go. Thank you🙏

so uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh sorry for the lack of updates or a demo release
so long story short some personal shit happened and im kinda burnt out i am making slow progress but it will be a while before i am happy enough to release the demo i am going to add ocs for dokis family members and the mcs mom but not for teachers for multiple reasons(mostly just me wanting to keep my sanity) but anyway a demo should be out hopefully by the end of the year if not then early next year

Instructions to install:
- Get the original English download of DDLC which you can find at https://ddlc.moe/
- Install the mod.
- Go inside the mod folder and copy all the files (yes that includes renpy, lib, adwsapp etc) in it and paste it into the DDLC folder
- If it asks you to replace some files click yes.
- Then click ddlc.exe and the mod should run.

How important is the festival to DDLC mods?
The festival is something that appears in most DDLC mods. The entirety of regular DDLC takes place before the festival and the main component of the game is preparation for the festival. While this is the main goal for regular DDLC it was never intended to be explored on in any sort of way. Alot of DDLC mods exist to take away the horror aspects of DDLC and create a new story with the same characters and themes, so it only makes sense for the festival to appear. However I've noticed it is almost glossed over in DDLC mods usually just being filler content. So this makes me wonder would we be better of just not including the festival to not undermine how it enfolds or is it still a very important part of the story. If so im curious as to what mods handle the festival in the most grand scale.

Doki Doki Clean Sheet it will be released already on Doki Doki Modding Expo 2024?
Good time of day. In general, I am not a fan of writing posts about progress, but from the experience of mod developers, including True Story (I say hello to them and wish them good luck), I am writing this post. So, in short, the modification at the finish line for translation. Therefore, after receiving permission from VVT (VladVirTeam), I decided that Doki Doki Clean Sheet will participate in Doki Doki Modding Expo 2024. Let this mod become a competitor not only for others, but also with True Story. Translation release date: during the day on 30.11.2024. And in the end, I want to end this post with two quotes:"May the Best Win","The main thing is not victory, but participation".

Can Act 1 Syndrome be fixed?
Alot of DDLC mods have whats called Act 1 syndrome. Act 1 syndrome is when a mod's first act is very similar if not exactly like original DDLC's act 1. Weather its to use up cgs or have world building it does get boring the more mods you play. I'm wondering if there is a way to have ur act 1 be intresting without just being completely different from regular DDLC. If so are there any mods that do similar act 1's but are distant enough to be fun and unique.

Within: Encore - Day 1 Finished & Started Coding!
Hey everyone, hope you're all doing well!
Happy to say that the writing on the first day of Within: Encore has finished and, as of today, coding has also started.
Definitely have a lot of rust I need to work off as I've not touched VSC since I finished Within in 2022, but it's going well so far!
Gonna gradually chip away at getting the first day fully coded with placeholder assets for where they're needed (mostly specific bgs and characters) and also putting together the temp soundtrack.

Which DDLC mods feel the most like they could be official?
I have played a few DDLC mods and I'm curious as to what the community considers to be the most Dan salvato like mod. So for example the art is on regular DDLC's level the writing feels like the base game and the production value matches.
I myself think Blue Skies is the mod that feels the most like an official Salvato product but i'm curious if theres a better made one.
