Which mod would show someone who hasn't played DDLC, if you had to?

I just finished the Blue Skies mod (I only did the Sayori route because she is my favorite) and at the end I literally cried for how beautiful the ending and this mod in general was. This is how I imagine the game is if Monika isn't self aware. All the characters were written like the base game and are no different. I don't know if there is any mod that can top this one but can you suggest me some? This is only my second mod that I have played (OG Salvation mod was the first one) and I know that this game has a LOT of mods. I LOVE the Sayori ones but I also want to play others that involve the whole group and not just one of them. So, suggest me anything

I've played World of Dreams and it is amazing, my favourite mod of all time so I wanted to see if anything out there is similar as I find mods with her self aware cool. I've also played purist and it's really good so anything like that is good.

Also, off topic, could anyone teach me how to make mods? I know some python and it seems cool. Read my last post if you're interested.

Started and finished night rain last night and i tought it was a really cool mod, interesting twist to the formula, loved the cop characters and their interactions but i think their relationship could've been expanded upon, and the original art was sooo good, i loved that image of Yuri reading in the back of the bus.

But God i hated MC and Sayori, like why the hell was sayori so damn oblivious about Yuri, and even when the situation was obvious she was like "Nah the monster who killed one of my friends dad surely is worth helping and surely wont hurt us or backfire in any way". Like i understand she's supposed to be a bit of an airhead that was just ridiculous. Mc suffers from the same, even when he had multiple proofs that Yuri was killing people he was still unsure. And why would he want to help her to such extent? She only knew her for like a week. It felt like Natsuki was the only sane character in that club. In regard to Yuri and Monika i liked their characters, Yuri acted kind of out of character but that makes sense since she's not really "her" and it made sense that monika wanted to help her since she was the same species as Yuri.

Hey, so I'm new to all those mods, just saw a playthrough of Exit Music: redux, and while I didn't always love the writing with Nats, the story was awesome. It's super depressing, though, and I keep hearing Salvation is one of the best mods. I wanna try it, but I'm worried it'll be too light for me. Need some tension to really hook me up.

As all of you know, all ddlc mods are needed to play the original ddlc before the mod experience. Now, how lost would you be if you already started playing a ddlc mod without even playing the original ddlc? Let's say the starting mod is not related to ddlc which delivers a fresh experience, Vigilante. What are your thoughts?

Any suggestions? Include Christmas mods if you have to.

I need to get off from playing Monika focused mods for a little while. What would you recommend?

Could you possibly make a download folder that has all 3 seasons of Club Meetings because when I went to go download them I got confused about all of them (Season 3 has finale episode but idk if the top 2 posts, season 2 and season 1 full collection, have any finales or something)

WHAT IF there was a mod incorporating all of the mod releases of the past 8 years as references? I think it would be cool. Now I would never seriously go forth with it because securing copyright would be terrible but I am willing to brainstorm a bit

Personally I would separate it in 3 parts: 2010s (2017-2019) mods, pandemic mods (2020-2022) and modern mods (2023-2024)

So for example the 2010s rooster would go:

1. Act 1 (Original DDLC Act 1)

2. Mall Date Scene (OG Exit Music)

3. Summertime (Summertime) the mod is kinda shite ngl but its so littered with late 2010 meme culture that it kinda needs to be in

Boss fight would be vs. Monika (Amor Fati) I hate Amor Fati please someone come up with a better boss fight

A word from the judges: Everlasting Autumn had a lot of great coding skills that really brought it to life. From the swinging ceiling light to coding in a literal computer terminal, the mod creators were able to bring this mod to life with the coding. Overall, there was a lot of time and love put into the coding which made for a pleasant experience.

A word from the judges: There were quite a few demos submitted this year, but the one that stood out the most was Plus One. This mod gave a good balance of meta and slice-of-life and had simple yet effective storytelling. The pacing of the mod was nice too and we never got bored playing it. We can't wait to see what the future of this mod holds!

A word from the judges: This mod was the top contender in many different categories, but it took the lead in three different ones. There were a lot of mods submitted under the Drama category, but this mod came out on top almost unanimously for that category. Before the Needle Lifts also presented a great OST. Each track flowed together amazingly and never felt off-putting. The ambiance was on point and never felt like too much or too little.

A word from the judges: For best art, this category had a very tight competition, but ultimately, this mod showed off a lot of creative artwork with a bunch of unique art styles. MCR+ made use of its CGs and custom Sayori outfit really well, along with other visual elements! MCR+ also won Best Comedy, and boy was it filled with it! There are many different endings to the mod, and some of them I laughed out loud at. There were many hidden gems to find.

A word from the judges: Turquoise gave us a really great insight into the new love life of Sayori and Monika. The mod was filled with a lot of "awww" moments and had us wanting more. There was even a bit of a meta twist to the mod too, which showed off another genre really well in this mod.

Hey, everyone!

As you may or may not know, I'm working on a mod and wanted to get some input from the community to help shape it. I have a few questions for you:

1. Do you enjoy it when the characters are given surnames?
2. How do you feel about the use of swear words in mods?
3. Since I'm creating a mod many years after the original release, some elements will inevitably feel similar to other mods. How much of an issue is this?

Hi all.

So, I've never looked at code in my life until about 6 days ago.

I hadn't touched DDLC in a few years, so coming back to it felt familiar and shocking. I found the modding community and dove in the more traditional VNs, looking for something that would give me what I was looking for.

Nothing quite got there, and I wished to myself that I could do it myself.

I said "What the hell" and looked at a modding guide.

Though I have a long way to go, I'm actually really enjoying learning the process. I've gone from not knowing what any term means to implementing an affection system and working on 16 endings.

It's going to be an undertaking. But I'm making this post to hold myself accountable. I'm probably older than a lot of you and I'm 100% the type of person who gives up when things are hard. It's been a long life of failure. The original DDLC and many of the mods have truly helped me deal with my issues of depression, anxiety, and isolation. I mean, not as much as therapy, but you know. They help.

I'll have to get custom music, sprites, and backgrounds made at some point. But today... I just want to work and get better and promise that it will get done. I don't know if anyone will like it, but I know it's a story I want to tell and it's one I want to see.
